Jackie Holiday has moved to Amazon!
While recovering in the hospital from a hit and run car accident, Deidre McDonough meets handsome detective Tony Capella, who had no idea that falling in love would cause Deirdre to once again be fighting for her life. Join Deirdre and Tony in their action packed, thrilling adventure as they work to unravel the mystery of the Murder in the E.R.

Deirdre sat up on her bed "I would SO love to shave my legs right now, but I'm not supposed to. There's sort of a metal rod going through my leg."
Courtney picked up the shave gel and gave it a shake, "Dee, you get way too hung up on rules."

Courtney pulled up the sheet, started rubbing on the shave gel and said, "Gee, we could have done a bikini wax too. I wish I had thought of it."
Deirdre laughed, "Yeah, like that's ever going to happen."
Courtney shaved Deirdre’s legs, rinsing the razor in the plastic hospital water carafe. Just as Courtney finished rubbing Deirdre’s legs with moisturizer, Deirdre saw Courtney's eyes grow wide. And who should walk in but Detective Tony Capella,
"Hi, I heard this was a big day and thought I'd…" Tony looked down at Deirdre's freshly shaved legs, which he did not find flabby. No, not flabby at all. "I'm sorry. I should have knocked. I, I should really… I should probably go."
Courtney hopped up off the side of the bed, "No, I was just leaving. You should stay." Courtney pushed Tony into a chair. "I'll see you tomorrow Dee. Love ya’.”
As Courtney leaned down to give Deirdre a kiss on the forehead, Deirdre whispered, "Thank you Court. You're the best."

"Yeah well I um… I just wanted to stop by and see how you were doing."
Deirdre struggled between smiling, and looking nonchalant, "That's cool. Did you find out who ran me over? "

I loved the characters, the scene descriptions (I'm visual) and the pace of this book very much. It is indeed a "good read".

While reading this book, I quickly became enamored of all of the characters. I liked the suspense and found the story enjoyable. Not the usual "stern doctor" novel. I look forward to the opportunity to read more from this author.

‘Murder in the ER’ is a mystery about newly appointed Detective Tony Capella, who is assigned to his first case very shortly after his promotion. At first, the case appears to be open and shut, but as the story wears on and Tony finds more information, there is a twist that leads to an interesting turn of events.

Along with the case that he is working, Tony is slowly but surely falling for one of his victims, Deirdre, who was involved in a hit and run accident that left her in the hospital with serious injuries.
As the story continues and more and more clues are revealed, it becomes apparent that Deirdre may be more than just a love interest for Tony – she may be the key to solving his case.

This was a pretty good story; however, I think that more editing could have been done to make the story flow better.

Great Story Line

The main characters in this book were inspirational in their innocence and commitments. Author Jackie Holiday created a scenario that brought together a bicycle messenger and a rookie detective to solve an unthinkable murder in a hospital emergency room.
I dropped the rating from a 5 to 4 because of some careless editing errors not caught by the beta readers.

Loved this book. Kept my interest over every page. Was she going to survive to be able to enjoy the new love she found? Who was doing this, and why? The only problem I had with this was I thought the author should have had it pre-read to catch all the 'oops' and errors in it. That didn't take away from the story though.

Good straightforward crime novel.

A pleasant way to pass a couple of hours. Newly promoted to Detective, Capella soon has to sink or swim with his first case. Ably guided by his partner, Sully, Capella solves the murder and gains a fiancee to boot.

Well worth a read

Interesting and fast paced. New detective on the case of some very beautiful people being killed. Medical, organ harvesting etc. Keeps your attention right to the end.

Good story. Kept my interest throughout the entire story. I am a nurse and nursing in large hospitals tends to be more specialized and ER nurses do not also work in surgery. I only gave 3 stars because of all the typos. How did the victims get identified and targeted prior to ER arrival?

Good read

This book held your attention and was an easy read. Was a little disappointed with all the shortcuts it took with finding the killers vs the pirate story line

Awful. Clichéd AF with typos and grammatical errors. Avoid. I'm just grateful I didn't have to pay for this book.

The story line was well planned, however, the grammar and spelling errors detracted from the reading enjoyment and flow.

The title of this book is what made me want to read it, and it didn't disappoint. At one point, I thought there was a huge discrepancy as the store went on, it was cleared up. I thought the instant romance between the two main characters was cute. At times it was a little unbelievable however I do believe in love at first sight and it could very well be plausible. And I like that the love story didn't overshadow the murder mystery! At the time of this post, I've already read book 2 of the series!

Ok read

I would like to have seen more background on one of the characters brought into the story line which would have made it more interesting. Some words were duplicated or used out of context. Should have been proof read. There were two page 202's and there appears to be a lot left out between the two as the flow between what happened between the two did not make sense even after reading it 3 times.

I chose 4 stars because this book didn't flow as easily as some of the others I have read lately. I did enjoy the action packed chapters. This was a quick easy read. I got through it in a few hours. I thought the main characters moved into their relationship a little too quickly. It made this book less believable than some of my favorites. Otherwise, I enjoyed the book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series as I've heard it's even better than this first one!

This is the first time I read a book by Holiday. Overall not bad, sometimes it seem to drag for a few pages, but I would consider another book by this author.
