He’s the player she can’t resist. She’s the one rule he can’t break.
I wasn’t supposed to fall for you.
When I accepted my father’s proposal to move out of Barrenridge to work for him as the North Sydney Wolves’ physiotherapist, I thought it would be my get out of jail free card after losing my previous job. What I didn’t expect was to come face to face with the man I had a one-night stand with the night before I left town.
I was never meant to see Sinnett Baxter again. It was only meant to be a night of fun—something I wouldn’t normally do. And now here I am tending to his injury, doing my best to adhere to my father’s “no dating anyone from the team” rule. Goddamn is it hard though when I can’t get this man out of my head.
“It’s impossible to keep my hands off you, strawberry.”
I thought dealing with my overbearing father was difficult, but it turns out staying away from the coach’s daughter is ten times harder. What started as a visit to Barrenridge to help my twin sister move in with our grandmother turned into a night I can’t seem to forget—no matter how hard I try.
Tatum Collins was supposed to stay in the back of my mind with the rest of the faceless hookups from my past. Now here she is helping with my injury, fuelling the obsession seeping through my veins. And the worst part is, if her father knew the thoughts I was having about his daughter, I would be six feet under.
Sinnett has his future and career mapped out down to the minute. Now that Tatum has entered the picture, is he willing to break the rules to get what his heart wants, even if it ruins his carefully laid-out plans?
Chloe lives by the beach in New South Wales, Australia, with her two fluffy cats, partner, and twin sister. Ever since she was young, she has always loved to read and create stories in her mind whenever an idea presented itself and got into the romance genre in high school by reading "After" by Anna Todd on Wattpad. In recent years, her love for storytelling grew and she decided it was finally time to put pen to paper and share her ideas. She is always coming up with new ideas, so stay tuned for future projects.
I was so grateful to have been able to beta read Unwritten Rules for Chloe and WOW!! Where has NRL romance been my whole life? Haha I need more asap please.
I had the best time reading this and could not put it down, it had a little bit of everything. Amazing banter, lots of tension, a forbidden relationship, amazing spice, the CUTEST nickname ever! 🤭 These two were so beautiful I loved them together so much and watching their relationship grow. As always anything that has music tied into it I eat up every damn time.
Can’t wait for a re read this is definitely a new favourite sports romance for me and was an extremely easy 5 stars for me, I highly recommend! 😍
Solid 3.75. Pretty entertaining and well written for a romance shockingly. Best part is that the nrl aspect was actually well written fav part was all the comments during the games as well a the mix up of the teams and the home grounds lol. Entertaining to read a book that actually correctly references rules and positions yay!! Could always be more reference to nrl for further entertainment but overall enjoyable and cringe but not that cringe quite cute at points but at some parts I was confused by the relationship cus they were acting in love but wasn’t getting that vibe. Anyways recommend for nrl fans fun.
Thank you to the author for the arc! Wow, what a read! I loved the NRL aspect (first one I’ve ever read and I will not forget it) As a massive Melbourne Storm supporter and a lover of anything NRL related, I was super excited for this book and it did not let me down! I loved Sinnett so much!! Such a sweetheart! The two characters together were super sweet! The actual rugby parts of the book I loved and it was such a sweetheart contemporary romance novel! I would recommend to anyone who loves romance! However there were a few things that kept this from being a 5 star! I wasn’t overly obsessed with Tatum as a FMC, I didn’t vibe with her, that is purely a me problem! Some decisions she made felt off kilter and just silly! And the Aussie slang….(I am Aussie and proud of it lol) but the slang I’m not used to reading shocked me and made me cringe slightly….just a little! Again, a me issue! Also the book was a tad too long in my opinion. Regardless I loved the book and will recommend to anyone! Thank you again to Chloe for the arc!
✨ rugby romance ✨ forced proximity - trainer x player ✨ ONS to forbidden romance ✨ coachs daughter ✨ sneaking around ✨ music love language ✨ set in Australia
You know I’m an absolute hoe for a rugby romance and I love getting to dive into Sinnett and Tatum story. A ONS to meeting again when Tatum becomes the new trainer for her dad’s Rugby team, and Sinnett is her newest patient. I loved the angst of these two, the needing to stay away from one another but not them being able to. And watching them open up to each other in a way they haven’t been able to before.
As a deep lover of music I adore how much these two bonded over music and how they really seemed to connect more to each other through songs when words weren’t able to be said. This is a new to me author and definitely will be added to my list of auto buys with how much fun I had in this story!
This story released August 15th and is a must add to your TBR!!
This was a solid 4.75 star read for me! I was very fortunate enough to receive an early copy of this book prior to release and it did not disappoint.
From the moment I started reading, I was obsessed. Chloe has a writing style that is incredibly easy to immerse yourself in, her characters are incredibly likeable whilst also being relatable and I loved the overall plot of this book. I also love that this is set in Australia and follows Australian NRL.
This story follows Sinnet (Sin) and Tatum. After a one night stand, they expect to never see each other again as he doesn't live in this small town and she is set to move the next day. Neither of them know who the other is which made it incredibly funny when they once again find themselves in the same place. The only difference this time is that she finds out he's a famous footy player and he finds out she's the new physio for the team as well as his coaches daughter.
Due to working in close proximity, the coach making it clear that no player is to try anything with his daughter and the undeniable chemistry between these two, lines start to blur and what they have definitely becomes forbidden.
I absolutely loved how they were with one another. Sinnet was incredibly sweet when with Tatum and felt safe enough to share a lot of his personal demons with her. Although everyone thinks he has a perfect life, he has constant pressure to be the best by his dad, never feels like he's good enough and pushes himself beyond his limits to prove himself to everyone. Tatum on the other hand is still dealing with her grief and trying to mend the strained relationship she has with her father. As this story progresses, they fall hard and fast but continuously try to fight these emotions so that everything they have worked so hard for in their professional lives isn't put in jeopardy.
Watching these two change as people and fight for what THEY want was honestly one of my favourite parts of this story. They both find their voice and stop doing what everyone wants them to do and start making decisions that feel right for themselves in the moment. Although their romance is one of the main aspects of this story, there is authentic footy culture in here, witty banter, strong friendships and genuinely funny moments. All of these combined made for a great book and had me so invested.
I absolutely adored this book and would definitely recommend! If I'm totally honest I didn't want it to end because I genuinely loved it so much. I am super excited to continue on with the rest of the series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I just finished reading Unwritten Rules and man, was it a vibe. I had a lot of fun with this read. The chemistry been the main characters was cheeky and full of yearning. I love a book that starts with a one night stand and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. I seriously related to Tatum, everything she did and said I found it so easy to connect with her. And sinnet, oh he made me swoon. The bad boy who’s secretly emotional, but only trusts her. So good. The spice was also 👌🏻 I read Prove me Wrong by @authorbekbertram before this, so I had little teasers about Tatum and Sinnet and I loved getting to find out their love story after that. This whole series is magic to me, the way all the authors came together to make this series and they way the executed it—was done amazingly. I’m off to read the rest of them now.
Thanks to the Berry Agency and Chloe Higgins for the ARC copy!
Unwritten Rules had a lot I enjoyed - especially the Aussie slang scattered throughout the book. I usually read US football or hockey romances so it was nice to read a book about a sport I’m more familiar with!
I didn’t mind the FMC but she came off a bit immature in some parts, which made it harder to fully connect with her at times. The MMC, though, was a standout. I loved his grounded presence and his nickname for FMC was seriously adorable - it added such a sweet, personal touch to their relationship.
The story did feel longer than it needed to be, and I think a bit of tightening would’ve made the pacing stronger. The crazy ex storyline was a bit predictable - you could see it coming and it felt like I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop the whole time.
Overall, I enjoyed it - it had heartfelt moments and a genuine connection between the leads that kept me reading. A solid romance with a few flaws, but definitely worth picking up if you like emotionally charged slow burns.
I truly enjoyed reading this charming romance, set against the landscapes of Australian well known city. From the very first page, the story felt like a warm hug—familiar, comforting, and effortlessly engaging. It was a welcome escape into a familiar backdrop.
The plot centers around Tatum, a compassionate physiotherapist, and Sinnett, a determined rugby player, as they navigate the challenges of starting a relationship. The dynamic between the two characters is beautifully crafted, and their chemistry undeniable, making their connection feel both authentic and heartwarming. I loved how the author captured the ups and downs of their journey with both tenderness and realism, creating a story that's relatable yet heartwarming.
The pacing of the book was well-balanced, with enough twists and moments of growth to keep the reader engaged, but not so much that it ever felt rushed. It's the kind of story you can lose yourself in, effortlessly turning page after page.
Overall, this book is a solid and enjoyable read. I’m genuinely excited to see how the author develops her craft in future works and can’t wait to dive into the next installment of the series. For anyone looking for a feel-good romance with endearing characters and a cozy Australian backdrop, this one’s definitely worth picking up!
I received an ARC of this book but was not paid for the review.
This book was amazing. I have been forever changed!! I squealed, I cried, I yelled. I felt EVERY possible emotion a human being can feel. Chloe’s writing is just perfection. I was very lucky to get this as an ARC and when I tell you I COULD not put this book down. I was so frustrated that I had a life that required attention because this book was all I could think about. I want to re read it immediately!
Thank you to The Berry Agency and to Chloe Higgins for the opportunity to read this ARC!
(2.5 ⭐️)
Something I have learned from reading this book is that I really enjoyed a romance set in my home city of Sydney! It’s so great to see Aussie authors within the romance genre. It was so fun seeing Tatum and Sinnett visiting places I know from real life!
The NRL element was really unique! As a romance reader, I am so used to seeing American sports like hockey and NFL take centre stage in the genre, so seeing an Aussie sport as the focus was quite refreshing.
However, the romance itself I don’t think was for me, I personally didn’t really connect with the main characters and found it to be a little predictable at parts.
But the tone of the writing really reminded me of Elsie Silver or Elle Kennedy, so if you like the style of these authors I think you’ll enjoy this one!
I love a good sports romance and this is my first ever Aussie NRL based one to read. I enjoyed all the characters in this book for all different reasons. I thought that Sins character development from the start of the book to the end was really well written and I enjoyed seeing him overcome his anxiety with certain aspects of his life. The relationship between Tate and Sin flourished beautifully once they got their momentum going and I’m glad Sin put his big boy pants on to get what he wanted. I enjoyed Chloe’s writing style and thought the book was well structured and very well paced. I did think there were a couple chapters that felt like I was reading the same thing over again just with different words but overall the story was a vibe and even though it was another sports romance it ticked all the boxes for me.
If you are a big fan of rugby, then you need this book! Perfect mix of sports and romance together, with some forbidden love sprinkled in 😍
Tatum moves to Sydney for a new physio position, and after having a one night stand with one of the players, things between them are heated, but also a little secret.
There’s workplace romance, a ONS, tension, slow burn, such cute scenes and the banter 👌
Unwritten Rules is a super sweet, NRL based sports romance packed full of banter and swoonworthy moments. I really enjoyed reading Sinnett and Tatum's story of forbidden workplace romance between coach's daughter and star player, the playlists they make for each other are just too cute and Sin is such a green flag! Chloe's writing just flows with a fun storyline and characters you can connect with and care about, including the side characters.
Super fun, easy read written by an Australian author.
Omg this book is amazing!!! It’s everything I needed and more. NRL romance yes please. I’m so thankful i got to arc read this book. Part of The Sunburnt Hearts series. Tatum and Sinnett are everything!! If you like rugby this is a book for you. Mix of sports and romance together YES PLEASE!!! With a sprinkle of forbidden!! Tropes: 📖: Sports romance 📖: Strangers to lovers 📖: Coach’s daughter 📖: Possessive ex 📖: Forbidden love 📖: He falls first 📖: One night stand 📖: Physio and athlete 🌶️: Spicy
3.5! thank you lovenotes pr for the ARC! There is an epidemic going around of romance books being ABSOLUTE BRICKS and this one is no different. Sinnet and Tatums story was a cute one. Girls meets guy in bar, have a one night stand, then part, only to find that their lives intertwine. I liked the interactions between the main characters and their friends, but this book was entirely too long. A lot of the scenes were repetitive and some of them could have been cut. The conflict was also a little bit meh because they shouldn’t have cared THAT much about her father. Overall I like the characters, but the book just dragged. Nothing revolutionary, but still a fun time.
Based on other people’s reviews this sounds like a great read. I however DNFd after a couple chapters as I’m not one to enjoy the spice so close to the beginning of the story. I’ve been really into the slow burn and yearning and when it happened so quick I struggled to keep reading
Maybe I’ll circle back to this when I enter my spicy era again just not right for me as of right now.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
NRL girlies rise this is OUR book. in light of the season ending, this book gave me something to look forward to. it was spicy and i loved it! the differing POVs is something i always love but i feel like the writing was a bit too much - i feel like they went on and on for a bit but other than that was a really good book and i would highly recommend it to any footy lovers!
I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced reader copy of this book, which I had been eyeing for a while. All I can say is that it did not disappoint.
Unwritten Rules is a part of a series of interconnected standalones by a group of indie Australian authors (they can be read separately; I have only read this book). This book focuses on Tatum and Sinnet, who also goes by Sin; Tatum is moving from her small town to Sydney to work as a physio for her dad's NRL team, the North Sydney Wolves. On her final night, she is celebrating with friends about her new job, when she meets Sinnet. After one night together, they expect to go their separate ways; however, when Tatum starts at her new job as a physiotherapist, He is the last person she expects to see. Sinnet has recently injured himself and is her top client, with the head coach, who is also Tatum's Dad, having a no-dating rule. Feelings start to develop between the two. What will they do?
Sinnet is "living the dream" in one of the top NRL teams and is currently out due to a quad injury. Reading about Sinnet's story is one I have seen so many times, We get to see a vulnerable side to his character and how he cares about everyone he loves, which I thoroughly enjoyed and really could relate to. Sin. Tatum is a fantastic character, well-written; I loved her quirky side, particularly her habit of asking random questions when she was nervous. I loved how it showed the side of grief she is struggling with, even after losing her mum for many years, and holding the guilt and hoping she is doing the right thing by her. These characters and their relationship were amazing, and I especially loved where they would go on drives and create playlists for each other. I love how he calls her "strawberry"
The plot was excellent, especially seeing how they met and the slow burn of them getting together. I love how it was set in Australia; there were so many things I could relate to and laugh about. I loved how everything unfolded; it was unpredictable, and there were so many scenes I loved. The spice in this book was amazing, not too much that it overpowered the book, including the steamy scenes. . This book has me listening to "Message in a Bottle" by Taylor Swift on repeat.
Overall, this book is amazing, and I recommend it to everyone. Please pre-order it for August 15th and support these Aussie indie authors. Hope you all enjoy.
POV: you’ve written a Wattpad-esk fanfic about Nicho Hynes but made him the small sub character with all but two mentions. In saying that I did really like the book
It’s no secret that sports romance is one of my favourite genres so when I saw that there was an NRL romance on the way I was so intrigued (I’m from the north of England where rugby league is the “real” rugby!) Incredibly grateful to the author for the opportunity to read an advance copy 🥰
The story follows Tatum Collins, a sports physiotherapist who has a one-night stand with a mysterious stranger the night before she leaves her hometown to start a new job working with the North Sydney Wolves rugby team. Unfortunately (or not!) for her, the “stranger” turns out to be one of the Wolves’ star players who needs her help with an injury, and just to complicate matters her dad is the head coach of the team.
I loved the dynamic between the two main characters, their chemistry was great and the sexual tension when they had to work together was delicious. There are a lot of familiar tropes at work (workplace romance, a secret relationship, her being the coach’s daughter) but it never feels too predictable. The Australian setting and dialogue were really fun as that’s not something I’ve seen in a lot of romance novels, and of course it was great to have a lesser known sport get some attention - especially since it’s one that I know and love!
Unwritten Rules is part of an interconnected six book collection and I definitely want to read the rest now! 🏉💕
Thank you to the Berry Agency for the opportunity to read the ARC copy of this book! I absolutely loved this book and it got me out of a major slump I was. Sinnett and Tatum are so cute and the book is very well written. I love the depth of the book and the ability to go into deep issues while still providing a cute romance.
ARC Review - Thank you to Chloe Higgins and The Berry Agency for the ARC 🖤🏉
Okay, first off, please take this with a grain of salt because aside from Elsie Silver, I haven't really gotten into contemporary or sports romance. I'm definitely more of a romantasy/dark romance kinda girly, and haven't exactly leaned towards the "fluffy" reads, this I think would be classed as a "fluffy/feel good" read, it's not to say I didn't like it, there were parts I enjoyed, it just wasn't for me.
What I did really enjoy was the sports side, Aussie Rugby! Being from New Zealand, rugby is massive here, so reading about it was actually pretty cool. I’m not a die hard fan or anything, but I loved seeing it come through in the book, especially with all the slang. Also loved the guide at the start, I knew what a good majority meant but sometimes you forget the rest of the world doesn't use theses references. A personal favourite 'we're not here to fuck spiders' it's used all the time in our friend group but I've never seen it used in a book so I absolutely loved that!
Also really enjoyed the playlist and mention of songs throughout, I've not come across that before and thought it was a really cool addition.
The characters I really liked, the FMC, MMC, and side characters. They were written well, but I didn’t feel that deep connection to anyone specifically. I really liked the easy banter between the FMC and MMC, they had a really good relationship it was healthy and they communicated really well. It was also slightly spicy, it wasn't over done, literally like the perfect amount of spice. I love a possessive MMC so the Jersey scene, absolutely yes!
The biggest thing for me was that it felt really predictable. I found myself waiting for things I knew were coming, which made the second half drag a little for me. I was into it until about the 50% mark, and then I was just kind of waiting for the inevitable plot points to play out. It didn't really feel like a lot happened either.
That said, I did like the ending, it resolved well and didn’t feel rushed, which I appreciate.
Would I recommend it? Yeah, but only to readers who love contemporary/sports romance. If that’s your thing, this should be for you. If you’re more like me (aka morally grey/black MMC's &/ FMC's, mythical beings, magic, immersive world building and so on), maybe not.
What to Expect: One night stand Workplace romance Forbidden love Sports romance (Aussie rugby!) Aussie slang
Being an Aussie girl who grew up watching the NRL, I have to thank Chloe Higgins for giving us a sports romance that feels so real, so spicy, and so unapologetically Aussie!
Sinnett and Tatum’s forbidden workplace romance had everything — the banter, the tension, the steam, and the most adorable nickname ever. Watching their relationship grow from a one-night stand into something deeper was pure bliss. And don’t even get me started on the playlist — Sin making that for Tate? Swoon!
I absolutely loved the authentic footy vibe — the spot-on NRL terminology, the Sydney setting (Sydney girl here!), the Aussie slang (with a hilarious glossary, by the way!), and that extra spark of small-town-girl-meets-big-city-star. The coach’s daughter trope, the secret workplace fling, the possessive ex, the physio/athlete dynamic, the forbidden tension — it all delivered in spades.
I laughed, I squealed, I yelled. I felt every possible emotion. When a book makes you want to re-read it the second you finish? That’s when you know it’s something special.
Big shoutout to Khai — the best mate who stole every scene. We need his story next, please! And huge thanks to Chloe Higgins for this ARC — what a gift.
Unwritten Rules is just one of six books in The Sunburnt Heart series by six amazing Aussie authors. I’ve read two — I need the other four immediately!
If you love: 🏉 Sports Romance (NRL!) 🔥 Forbidden Love 🥵 Workplace drama / Coach’s Daughter trope 💋 One Night Stand → Something More 💌 Dual POV, top-notch banter & spice 🎵 Playlists that make you swoon
— then add this to your TBR right now. Chloe’s writing is perfection and Unwritten Rules is easily a five-star standout.
He’s the player she can’t resist. She’s the one rule he can’t break.
If you love some spice with a side of angst, this one will probably hit the spot. The story centers around a determined sports physio (FMC) who ends up working closely with an injured NRL star (MMC). Add an overprotective coach (who also happens to be her father) and you’ve got a pairing that’s equal parts forbidden and fiery.
The chemistry between the leads is undeniable from their very first interaction. Their one-night stand quickly turns into an HR nightmare when they realise they now work for the same club. The tension and setup are compelling, and the romance has plenty of steam.
However, neither of the main characters felt fully fleshed out, and their motivations or emotional depth could have been explored more deeply. Some of the side characters felt more like background noise. The FMC’s only friend seems to make an appearance only when the plot required, making their connection feel surface-level.
Some of the dual POV writing felt too similar, and at times, it was hard to distinguish between the two voices. I often found myself wishing the story had stuck to a single POV, which would have provided a stronger narrative focus.
While the setup was promising, the stakes felt low, and several moments played out predictably. The pacing dragged in places, especially in the middle, which pulled me out of the story at times.
Nevertheless, it’s a light, steamy read with an Aussie twist. Its a great if you're in the mood for a low-stakes sports romance with a forbidden edge.
⭐️⭐️.5 – Sports romance with spice, but not without its fumbles. As an Aussie, I loved that this one is set at home — the local feel gave me a hit of nostalgia. Plus, I’m a sucker for a good sports romance, so we were off to a promising start.
That said… I almost tapped out 8 pages in. The opening throws a lot of names and foreshadowing at you like it’s in a rush to hand out info and line up future trauma. I usually enjoy a “years earlier” setup, but I like when it builds, not the unnecessary info dump.
Now, let’s talk spice — the one night stand scene? Chef’s kiss. Sin is exactly what his name suggests. Things heat up, and those steamy scenes do redeem quite a bit of the bumpy storytelling.
However, some character dynamics feel natural while others land like a forced group project. Certain emotional beats lacked depth, and the drama occasionally tipped into “teen angst” territory — not ideal when the characters are in their mid 20s and still acting like curfews and daddy’s approval run their lives.
Also, fair warning: this book really needed a content warning at the front. Several topics pop up that deserve a heads-up.
On the bright side, the artwork of the characters and the curated playlist at the beginning? Adorable touch.
Overall, this one didn’t totally hit the mark for me — but if you’re in the mood for a hot, tattooed love interest and don’t mind a little melodrama along the way, this one’s for you.
This was my first time reading an Australian NRL book, and I have to say I loved it! There was multiple times when I wasn’t reading that my mind drifted off back to the book, looking forward to the next chapter
From the first chapter I was hooked. I really loved the storyline and how easy it flowed. The characters were very well described and their growth developed smoothly throughout the book. The writing was easy to read with a good flow to it all. I never had to go back and reread a sentence or paragraph to make sure I understood what was going on.
The MCs Sinnett and Tatum shared beautiful chemistry, it didn’t feel awkward or forced. The MCs were well written as individuals and as a couple. The side/supporting characters were great! The conflict with Zoe was also easily incorporated.
As an Australian, I loved the mention of all the city’s and suburbs. While I’m not a big sports fan, this book has definitely made me want to watch NRL and read more books about it!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book as it was a different sports romance to what I typically read. I definitely recommend this book and cannot wait to read more by this author!
Tropes: • one night stand • forbidden romance • coach’s daughter • Star halfback x physio • sports romance - NRL
I had the pleasure of beta read Unwritten Rules by Chloe, and it was amazing 😍. Thank you so much Chloe for giving me the opportunity to read your book 💛.
I truly loved this amazing book, from the very first chapter I got sucked into a world about Sinnett and Tatum, I felt heartache, my heart being ripped out, smiling and giggling and the banter between between Sinnett and Khai throughout the entire book. The forbidden love between Sinnett and Tatum was amazing.
Sinnett is a rugby player, and Tatum is a physiotherapist in this book. They have a hook up in barrenridge the night before Tatum leaves to move to Sydney. She starts a new job with her dad, which manages an NRL team called the Sydney Wolves. To her surprise, she bumps into Sinnett again, which is total fate. The pull between them makes it hard after the coach, aka her dad, forbids the team from dating his daughter, but little did he know that Sinnett and Tatum have met before. The struggle was definitely obvious that finally, they decided to see each other in secret until it backfired on them.
Tropes: 💛 NRL/RUGBY 🏈 AUSTRALIAN SETTING 💛 THE COACH'S DAUGHTER 🏈 ONE NIGHT STAND 💛 WORKPLACE ROMANCE 🏈 FORBIDDEN ROMANCE 💛 STEAMY & SPICY 🏈 DUAL POV 💛 FMC PHYSIOTHERAPIST/MMC STAR HALFBACK
To find out more about their story, you must dive into their book to find out.
Thank you to Chloe Higgins and The Berry Agency for an ARC copy of Unwritten Rules. This is the first book by Chloe that I have read, and also the first NRL romance book I have decided to pick up. I love Sinnett, the MMC. He felt pretty relatable with his family relationship dynamic and how he was dealing with his injury and the pressure he put himself under. I unfortunately felt like Tatum lacked a bit of reliability. This would have just been a personal issue I had. She may relate better with others reading this book! There were definitely some parts where it felt like she was acting childish instead of someone in their 20s. The actual parts of the book where rugby was the main focus were written well and were easy to enjoy. I felt like the book didn't need to be 35 chapters; it definitely could have been cut down a bit. It made the story drag on a bit. I would also say that there really needed to be some content warning at the start of the book. Some of the topics that were mentioned deserve to be pre-warned at the start. Regardless, I liked the book and will recommend it to anyone! Thank you again to Chloe and The Berry Agency for the ARC copy!
