It took me 3 months to read this book, one article at a time, and have the material sink in. It was worth it. So many different, helpful subjects were covered. They improved my writing, my editing, and my understanding of how to get published. And since the articles were all written by professional writers and teachers of writing, they were entertaining and exemplars, as well. And the book sure beats the price of a realtime conference.

There is a lot of good advice. Some of it is dated but most is still applicable.

Some contributions are dated, at least in the 1997 edition I picked up at a library book sale (electronic rights ca. 1997! remember CD-ROMs?), but the articles on craft are evergreen and helpful. Definitely worth the dollar I probably paid for it. :)
