Rate this book
Caitlin Wheeler won’t admit it aloud but she’s unequivocally in love with her father’s protégé, Neal Dietrich. He’s one of the most powerful men in Chicago, and he’s the only one to break through Caitlin’s cold exterior and make her stomach clench with pleasure. But she isn’t sure she can trust him – not yet.

Neal finds a rival in a powerful enemy, desperate for revenge. He and Caitlin must team up with a mysterious and dangerous woman from his past. Piece by piece, the cracks in Neal’s well-kept secrets begin to show, and Caitlin may not be able to handle the truth.

The second she opens her heart up to Neal, her mundane life as a school teacher is over. But does she want the baggage that comes along with being Neal’s girlfriend?

We're a long way from Kansas Toto! That's all I could think when I finished this, I recalled the Mousey school teacher Caitlin Wheeler we first met who was moving classrooms... In just a few days in Chicago she's come a long way.

She's falling for Neil Dietrich even more but she's unsure when seeds of doubt are planted in her mind. The story ends on another cliff hanger..

Although this all takes place in a matter of days it's so action packed and that's not a bad thing but there are so many side stories happening that I had to go back and read parts to see if I got everything. Some characters pop up and appear as space filler... Like Suzanne... Her reappearance was unnecessary and slightly confusing.... Anyway on the the final book
