The explosive series "Carter Diamond" is the prequel to the NY Times best selling series The Cartel by Ashley and JaQuavis. This installment gets into how the Cartel empire was built. Carter Diamond is preparing to go into a war with Haitian counterparts and blood is spilled in the streets of Miami. As his empire grows and as well as his family...two young sons are introduced...Mecca and Monroe.
ASHLEY ANTOINETTE COLEMAN is one of the most successful female writers of her time. The feminine half of the popular married duo, Ashley and JaQuavis, she has co-written over 40 novels, including the bestselling Cartel series. Several of her titles have hit The New York Times bestsellers list, but she is most widely regarded for her continuing racy saga, The Prada Plan. Born in Flint, MI, she was bred with an innate street sense that she uses as motivation in her crime filled writings.
Picking up a deal with publishing powerhouse St. Martin's Press while simultaneously inking deals at Warner Brothers Studios and NBC/Universal, Ashley shows no signs of slowing down. She is currently hard at work on a new book series and two television pilots.

NOW WHERE CAN I FIND THIS BOOK??? I could've sworn all three parts were on Audible, but part 3 is nowhere to be found. AND I NEED IT SO BAD, I NEED MORE OF MY MAN CARTER.
The only reason this is not a 5 star rating is because of the editing of the book. It takes away from the story when you have to try and figure out who are what the authors is talking about. It would be so much better if the authors would take the time to check the editing before releasing the book, even if it pushes back the release date. The authors need to go back to the time of their first books that they released they, were on point and a joy to read. After saying all of that I am still going to support the authors because they have a great talent in telling a story that keeps you wanting more and more at each turn of a page. I have been a fan for many years and I have all of their books in both paperback and kindle form and the Cartel series and the Muderville series and Parda Plan and now Carter Diamond series are my favorite and each time a new book is added to any of the series I re-read the whole series from the beginning of the series to the end. That's just how good the books are. I recommend all of Ashley and JaQuavis books that they have written together and also separately you can't go wrong.
Lmao I'm disappointed this book was to short to be 3.99 it should've been .99 smh. Other then that the book was really good can't wait for part 4 even though it probably be awhile before it comes out tuh!
If you have read the Cartel series by Ashley & JaQuavis, then this will give you answered to question you didn’t know you needed. Questions like how did Carter get plugged in with the Dominican drug empire. Why did Carter name his daughter Breeze. Who is Ma’tee & where did he come from.
I stopped reading unfinished series a long time ago because I'm too impatient for the waiting. And I read so much I forget what happened in the last installment.
This one was the best so far. It started off with some action. And NOW we're really getting to the nitty gritty of how Carter Diamond became King.
I read The Cartel so many years ago. I wanted to start reading again but now I feel like I can't. Even though The Cartel is about little Carter and doesn't really have anything to do with big Carter, other than the fact he takes his father's place, I still want to finish Carter Diamond series first now. Too many blanks that didn't exist for me before exist now. Like how did Carter get to his position in Miami while still being supplied by Estes? How did he find out and handle the situation with Tonya and little Carter.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!
I know he keeps the fact that he has a sin quiet as some stipulation Estes put on him. But how did that take place?
Basically, looks like I have to wait 😩
In the meantime, I think I might go back and read the Dirty Money series. I think the main chick in that series is up there with Estes and makes an appearance in the Cartel if I remember correctly.
EDIT: So I didn't realize this muhfucka was published in 2014 and we still don't have the continuation. Now I'm pissed. If I had known this I wouldn't have read it. I don't like incomplete series. They got too much work for this shit to just be left. These shorts are less than 50 pages. Come on dammit.
First I want to start off by saying that I am a cartel fan through and throughI read all six books and i am looking forward to book 7. However The prequel was not what I thought it was going to be yes it had a lot of information about Carter before his reign in Miami. What breaking up the story into three parts not good and we know there's going to be at least a part 4..... shady! Come on authors you guys are better than this. I would've easily paid 20 dollars for the complete work of Carter diamond. Not this little bit here in a little bit there type of storytelling. Disappointed and frustrated. :/
This book keeps you on edge and wanting more. I like Carter Diamond because he knows what he wants and is not afraid to go after it. A thug in love with a Miami chica but lives a life that will never be good enough for Estes little girl. But Carter is wiling to sacrifice his life for hers.
I enjoyed reading this book but it's short stories. I want to read more about Carter Diamond. Now, I see Young Carter, Mecca and Money get it from their father. I'm looking forward to read Carter Diamond 4. A&J did a good job.
I’m just interested to see if Tyran will make it back to the states. How far will Carter and his new crew make it before greed takes over? “Always trust greed” -Carter Diamond
We just got a glimpse of a straight gangster in the making and in the process a love that is going to burn the city. I love the respect and loyalty that Polo has for Carter. The are really good little looks inside the making of the legend.
It was an ok short story. Same as usual, younger girl falling for the typical bad boy who her father doesn't approve of. Good back story of Carter Sr. though.
I gave this book 3 stars because it was 2 damn short .. I need more I need MORE... I’m upset 😠 carter didn’t even attempt to go after Tonya and apologize she deserves that much
I GUESS I NOW KNOW WHY A & J COLEMAN LET CARTER DIAMOND TAKE THAT SHOT TO THE CENTER OF THE FOREHEAD IN THE CARTEL BOOK 1. IT'S JUST A SHAME THAT YOUNG CARTER JONES, THE SON CARTER DIAMOND NEVER MET, NEVER HAD GOTTEN TO MEET THE DUDE WHO ABANDONED HIS MAMA TONYA WHILE SHE WAS PREGGERS WITH HIM, & WHOSE DIAMOND EMPIRE HE WOULD INHERIT UPON HIS DEATH. I must say after reading lots of reviews for this book CD3, I have to wonder HOW EXACTLY SOME READERS OBTAINED THIS BOOK & OTHERS WEREN'T AS FORTUNATE. IT ALSO SEEMED AS THOUGH A & J RECYCLED SOME OF THE STORY LINE WHERE MA'TEE KIDNAPPED TARYN IN THIS BOOK & ALSO KIDNAPPED BREEZE (WITH MURDA MAMAS: ROBYN & ARIES HELP) IN BOOK 1 OF THE CARTEL SERIES. WHAT'S NEXT? WILL A CARTER JONES JR (NOT CJ), THE OFFSPRING CARTER JONES MAY NOT HAVE KNOWN THAT HIS OG GF FROM FLINT HAD BEEN PREGNANT WITH BEFORE HE PACKED UP & MOVED TO MIAMI TO TAKEOVER HIS FATHER'S DIAMOND EMPIRE & START A LIFE WITH MURDER MAMA MIAMOR, ARRIVE TO STAKE HIS CLAIM TO THE DIAMOND CARTEL AGAINST THE CARTER "CJ" JONES JR. WE KNOW & HIS COUSIN MO MONEY DIAMOND JR? THAT WOULD BE AN INTERESTING STORY FOR A LONG LIVE THE CARTEL 2 BOOK! I WOULDN'T PUT IT PAST THE COLEMANS TO RECYCLE THE STORY LINE OF THE ORIGINAL DIAMOND KINGPIN CARTER DIAMOND FOR FUTURE BOOKS IN THE CARTEL/LONG LIVE THE CARTEL SERIES.
Taryn has been kidnapped by Ma'tee and Carter is trying to get her back, but he has to go to Estes for his help…which is trouble within itself! What happens next is definitely something to see.
This was probably the shortest of these stories and it definitely left me wanting more. What I will say is I know the backstory to the series, which makes me happy. I was surprised to see the first chapter of my favorite book of 2017 by @realjaquavis in the back, which also brought a smile to my face. The ONLY reason why I'm giving it 💎💎💎💎 is because it's too short.
This book had many errors as well as the others. It is a surprise to see that this duo team husband/wife would write publish their work with this many errors. The books seem as if they were all rushed, however I enjoyed reading them all as well as the series. I think Tonya did Carter dirty, but he too was wrong for what he did to her. If honesty was what he looked for in people then he wasn't being real from the beginning. I would love to know what happens in the next book.
I got drawn into the series thinking book 3 would be the end. But then I see a TBC, with reference to book 4. And now, reading this years after it's original release, I still don't see a book 4. Oh well, on to The Cartel. Maybe that series will provide some closure for this one...
A great read to learn of Carter Diamond before the Cartel
I love the way they bring their character's to life. You get to kno them personally you get to fall in love with these characters as if they are apart of you everday life
I love both Ashley and Jaquavis books. They are each other’s heartbeat and soul and you feel their connection on every page in every story they write. Carter Diamond is legendary can’t wait for the next adventure!
i recommend this book to everyone, that like the cartels series.this is the book that leads up up to cartels 1,2,34 etc. there is a series of these books
Can’t wait to read part 4 of this series! Carter Diamond is a very smart man. Looking forward to finding out how Carter & Polo takeover Miami. Great book
