Really great stories. Hate-waved Strange is hilarious. Parker's speech about hate is beautiful.

Was a bit uneven. Really liked the Spider-Man and Doctor Strange half, second half not as much.

Very small collection, art was uneven unfortunately.

This is a series of small stories all dealing with how the Axis event affects the rest of the Marvel Universe. And being that each one was different creators, the stories vary from good to.... not so good.

I think the highlight for me was Spider-man dealing with people going crazy with anger. This really felt like old school spidey dealing with the neighborhood problems like back in the day. I mean, this was on a much bigger scale but there was some good character moments from spidey, and great call backs to his past growing up with aunt May and uncle Ben.

Doctor Strange looking for a purely "good" person to base his spell on was pretty funny as he... fails because: humans. Thor being an arrogant drunkard was also ok. However a lot of these missed the mark. Sometimes they go for humor and it lands flat.

Overall, really uneven - for completionists of the Axis event only I would say.

What do you get when you add a bad crossover event with a pointless tie-in? This drivel. This was just a cheesy cash grab by Marvel to get customers to buy something with the Axis logo. Its completely without merit. Skip it.

How what if stories should be done. Story and sweet is better than long and boring.

Throw away short stories about good guys acting like bad guys or bad guys acting like good guys. It would have been nice if they'd put in more effort to create something character defining.

As a collection of shorter stories, this is a mixed bag as usual. It is almost unfortunate that it led with the very best one, a story where Spider-Man tries to keep people from hurting each other. I did find it interesting how the Sandman one was included, since he wasn't actually affected by the reversal, but only inspired by the villains turned heroes to try to do the right thing in his own distorted way. I appreciated the story featuring Kitty Pride, since it showed off how tough she can be, though the story wasn't particularly exciting. The Iceman story was somewhat interesting, more as a satire of dark comics than as an enjoyable story in and of itself, though. Most of the rest were rather lackluster. Still, I suppose they added a bit of substance to the Axis event, which, unlike some others, I rather enjoyed.

These stories are very problematic because they all rely entirely on the shock value of heroes being villains and villains being heroes. But the shock value fails to coalesce when the characters are unmoored from themselves so entirely. It's like someone said, "Here's the visual design of a character and here are their powers" and then just said "they are heroes or villains." Very little connects the characters to themselves.

Perhaps the weirdest one is Nightcrawler. In Amazing X-Men, it's very clearly explained that Nightcrawler has lost his soul and is becoming increasingly unhinged in his quest for vengeance. Here, Nightcrawler is shocking unhinged in his quest for vengeance. Um. Um.

Not really impressed. I bought this mostly for the Dr. Strange and Thor stories, but I didn't find either found particularly compelling. I think, but I'm not sure, that both were supposed to be humorous.

The best stories in the collection were the first (Spider-Man in "With Great Hate") and the last (Dr. Doom in "Least Resistance").

The other stories didn't leave much of an impression, although the Iceman story (Man of Ice) was very odd...

This hasn't really improved my knowledge of the AXIS event at all. The Thor issue was entertaining, with the whole social media road trip bit, but he really just was acting as he did in the beginning of the Thor movie, rather than a villain.... Sabertooth was intriguing, and I have no idea what is wrong with Iceman. I did also like the Spiderman issue, even if it did seem too much of a lecture. Bizarre compilation, but I suppose the original story is a very what-if scenario, to start with.

I'm not sure I see the purpose in this book. It feels like an afterthought.
