I really enjoyed how relatable the stories were, particularly as someone who lives in Lagos. The places, situations, and general chaos felt very real, like things you can actually imagine happening. My favourite stories were Chiamaka’s (the sugar baby story, she really found the kind of sugar daddy I’m looking for🥲) and the last story about Georgina, the IJGB babe, which was funny because I already knew it wouldn’t end well. Yolanda’s story was also very enjoyable and entertaining, i love when women do men strong thing🙂‍↕️. The writing was simple, flowed well, and didn’t feel heavy or complicated. One thing that annoyed me, though, was the repeated spelling of “though” as “tho,” which really shouldn’t be in a printed, edited book. There was also one story I didn’t really connect with, but overall, the collection did what it needed to do; it entertained me. The book touches on Lagos sugar babies, scammers, IJGBs, models, BBLs, and other very Lagos experiences, making it both entertaining and quietly cautionary. I rated it 3.5 stars. Nothing groundbreaking, but relatable, enjoyable, and worth reading. I’d definitely recommend it, and I’m curious to see what the author writes next. She’s gained a reader in me :)

(3.5 ⭐️rounded up)

The first story? Easily my favorite. It was sharp, engaging, and honestly so enjoyable that I kept carrying the book around with me just to sneak in a few more pages. The second story held up well too, but after that, the momentum dipped a bit for me. Things slowed down, and while the rest of the stories were still okay, they didn’t hit the same way as the opening ones.

What I really liked, though, was the balance. The themes are serious, but there’s this subtle humor woven in — the kind where you’re reading with a straight face and then suddenly catch yourself smiling. That contrast worked really well and kept the book from feeling too heavy.

Was it as solid as I expected overall? Not quite. But it was still enjoyable, still interesting, and definitely not a bad read at all. Just one of those books that may not blow you away, but you’re glad you picked up.

3.5 stars, fun book, read like a nollywood movie which was enjoyable. The formatting of the kindle book was messed up, it was hard to tell which character was speaking at times, but otherwise a fun read.

I loved it!

Every story had a delicious twist! I appreciate the writer’s use of imagery and metaphors. I felt like I was in Lagos, living the lives of people completely different from me!
