Obsessed with true crime and British crime dramas, Kelly gets sucked into the secret shenanigans on her street and begins to spy on the neighbors.
Raw from a recent breakup, Kelly—a single mom and bestselling author—is looking for a distraction. So… when someone new moves in across the quaint, quiet street from her, she begins to notice secret happenings all around her and takes to spying.
Add to the list spying on her new neighbor. The one she describes as a Salt and Pepper Fox, and her book club describes as a Hot Guy. Kelly has the perfect friend (her ex’s mom) to match Mr. Salt and Pepper with. But is he single? And will either party be game to be fixed up?
Meanwhile, having just binged a 12-season British crime drama, Kelly (emulating her favorite British sleuth) discovers more about her neighbors—and murder in general—than she (and her loved ones) ever bargained for.
Flirting with Secrets is for anyone who loves books with heart, humor… and a touch of intrigue.
“I don't know how Jill Cullen does it but her thought process is amazing! I honestly can't say enough about how Kelly's character makes me feel. She’s so relatable because there‘s depth to her character, but her unpredictability is downright fun! That’s Cullen’s knack...character development. So well done...again!” —Chris A., loyal “Flirting” series reader

The overarching theme Jill Cullen explores in her novels is the connections that people make with each other—whether it be between friends, families, or love relationships. Her stories are immersive and are often told through realistic dialogue and fun banter.
Jill Cullen lives in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, with her husband Lloyd, son Finn, and their adorable mini goldendoodles Myrna and Buster.
Jill was voted Best Writer in the City Paper's Best of PGH Reader's Poll 2024 and is a finalist for Pittsburgh Magazine’s Best of the ‘Burgh 2025 for Favorite Local Writer.
Her bachelor’s degree in English is from Point Park University, and her master’s degree in library and information science is from the University of Pittsburgh. She currently works as a Cataloging and Acquisitions Librarian in a public library outside of Pittsburgh.
When she’s not writing women’s fiction with heart and humor, she’s probably editing, reading, talking and laughing with friends and family, cuddling her pups, or visiting her daughter Eilish in Chicago.
Jill did an amazing job once again! This is my first time being an ARC reader and it was a good one to start with! I love all of the books about Kelly’s life and this one was a quick read that you didn’t want to put down. Kelly is very relatable and her adventures are hysterical! It was a great addition to the “Flirting with” books, I really enjoyed it!
You can't beat a novella with intrigue, mystery, and a fun lovable main character. Jill Cullen delivers again with another book in her flirting with series. This is my favorite one to date. Kelly will once again charm you with her interesting adventures and witty dialogue. You don't need to read the others to enjoy this easy stand alone mystery.
I loved Flirting with a New Life and Flirting with Celebrity and was thrilled when the author offered to let me read an ARC. Jill writes with heart and humor, and this book lived up to the previous two. I am invested in Kelly's life and love life and am always waiting to see what she says or does next! Without giving away any spoilers, I'll just say this. The ending was unexpected and a complete surprise. I love it when a book takes me down a path I never saw coming. I highly recommend all three books in the Flirting series!
Flirting with Secrets is my favorite Kelly Carter Ramsey book to date! In true form, our heroine is quirky and hilarious as she embarks on her latest escapade. Grab a cup of tea and put your feet up... you won't want to put this one down once you start reading it. Jill Cullen has certainly hit her stride with the Flirting series, and I'm all in!
Kelly is funny, quirky, and seems to have no filter, which makes her such a fun character to follow. This book is an entertaining read, full of neighborhood shenanigans and capped off with an unexpected ending. Having read the other books in the series, I loved catching up with Kelly's antics and can’t wait to see what’s next for her.
