Rate this book
Twenty years after Earth’s total destruction, a group of human women are struggling to survive on their failing space station. Their only hope is being rescued by the Venkorians, but at what price…

Luna is one of the first to be chosen for transportation to Venkoria. She wants to be brave, but waking up in a cage only to discover she’s been purchased as a pet is disheartening. Her owner means well, but it’s an uphill battle convincing Julan she’s an intelligent being who doesn’t need babying or training.

Luna needs an abundance of patience as she finds herself irrationally attracted to her captor. She wants to please him. She craves his praise and attention. But she also needs him to understand that remaining caged will destroy her…and their bourgeoning relationship.

Only travel to Venkoria if you’re prepared to embark on a journey of deeply intimate relationships between demanding Daddy Doms and the humans they are destined to command.

A captivating new series

Julan is a fantastic blend of sci-fi survival and intense power-exchange romance. I loved the "Human as a Pet" trope here—it creates so much organic tension between Luna and Julan. Luna is a strong, intelligent heroine, and watching her fight for her agency while grappling with her attraction to her overprotective "owner" was addictive. If you like your alien heroes to be demanding Daddy Doms with a soft spot for their humans, this is a must-read. A great start to the series!

Beginning of a new series, captivating plot with innovative characters and storyline
Earth was totally destroyed over twenty years before and a brave group of human women are doing all that thy can to survive and stay alive on their ageing ad decrepit space station which has sustained them for such a long time,
They know that the only possible chance they have is if they are possibly located by the Vekorians but the most important question they have to face is what will they want in return for their assistance, nothing is given out of the goodness of a kind heart and they know it will most likely be costly but what option do they have,
Unfortunately, the Venkorians decide that if they are going to offer any assistance, they want one of the earth females and so they decide that the first female to be transported will Luna. To find that she has been purchased as a pet and delivered in the equivalent of a cage is heartbreaking but for the good of the other women, she knows that she has to be brave and determined,
Luna has quite the effort to prove to Julan her new owner that she is actually a very intelligent individual and that she is more than capable of caring for herself, she is attracted to her captor and wants to please him if possible and educate him in her actual abilities and intelligence but this is not always as easy.
I guarantee that you will find Luna’s patience and Julan’s obvious ore conceived opinion on humans’ abilities to be some what texting but also some of the arising situations prove to be entertaining.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.

This one raised conflicting emotions., although I did enjoy the book.

I liked the alien differences, they were interesting and educating. I was also okay with Julan having Luna for a pet, however the level of objectification was more than I expected. Of course the hints and promises of Luna being treated as she was used to make up for a lot. There is a lot of promise in this book that does deliver and meets expectations.

The journey Luna travels to becoming 'more and intrinsic' to Julan is intriguing. Their relationship becomes such that as Luna's personality and will became more evident I realized this is something she craves. As such, I refuse to yuck on her yum. The book is entertaining.

With their HEA becoming a reality I am curious how the next couple will expand upon the attitudes and practices towards the newly acquired 'pets'.

Julan by Paige Michaels is the first book in the new The Venkorians series, and I DEVOURED it! Oh my giddy aunt, so flipping good!

The world building is wonderful, the dynamics fascinating, and watching Luna navigate it is so interesting! And Julian having to come to terms with a whole lot really quick in terms of dealing with the unexpected is also a lot of fun. And despite all differences and obstacles, their connection is powerful.

The story is a little dark, it's a bit distopian, however, it is still about acceptance and change and love and care. It's a different take on dynamics, with an alien twist, and it was really engaging to read!

Can't wait to read about the next pairing!

Wasn’t too sure about this story at first but I kept going and must admit it kept me enthralled it’s certainly a bit darker than Paige’s other series but it’s definitely worth reading. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series from both authors. Luna certainly has a struggle as the first pet to try and convince Julan that she’s more intelligent and capable than he thinks, but she knows that as the first she needs to try and make things better for the others that come after her even if sleeping in a cage and both wearing and using diapers is repulsive, she finds her need to please Julan overrides some of her issues.

It was a slow start for me, but the author had to introduce the whole series concept. Once I got into it, the story moved much faster. Julan is surprised by how much he enjoys Luna; he thought that she would just be a pet to him. He grows to care for her just as Luna finds that she wants to please him. The interactions between them are interesting as Julan treats Luna more as a Little than a pet.

It is an interesting start to a new series, and I'll enjoy reading the next book by Everly Raine.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Wow, this was a fabulous start to a new series and one not to miss. The Venkorian meet humans, we have Luna, she is the first human woman to be purchased at auction by a Venkorian male. Julan is a Venkorian male, he is the first one to have a human female as a Pet. Julan needs to train his pet to obey him, he is dominant, possessive and demands she call him Daddy and other males Sir for respect.

Earth was destroyed and only a few survived. Now they are running out of resources. Luna gets picked first to join an alien planet, but she doesn't know whats in store for her. She is treated like "a pet" but with many perks! 😉
I love how Julan like to learn about the Human race and how he adapts to the way he treats Luna. I love how she is curious about him and adapts to his ways.
I really enjoyed this book. And I am looking forward to reading whats next.

Luna and Julan

Alien Daddies, Yes please! This story checks lots of my favorite trope boxes like human females on alien planets, size difference, dubious consent and age play. Julan expects a pet but what he gets is a feisty human female who is a mystery to him. But oh boy does he have fun solving the mystery. There is plenty of spice and it starts pretty early. My only complaint is that it is short and I wanted more.

I did not realise that this book was this long as it is a really easy to read story. The reader will be invested in the life that Luna has found herself in and hoping that she will find contentment. I liked both characters and the world that this author has created. I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving an honest review. I am looking forward to reading more from this world.

Julan is a dark alien romance that dives straight into power, control and forbidden attraction. After Earth’s destruction, Luna thinks she’s being saved only to wake up caged and owned on Venkoria.
Luna is torn between resisting her captor and craving his attention, while Julan’s overprotective Daddy instincts clash with her need for autonomy. Their chemistry is intense, kinky, intimate and very niche.

A new world from Paige Michaels and I liked it. It was great that Julan was Luna's Daddy but also her master. I liked that at first it was hard for her to adjust but she came to see that he really wanted to keep her safe and healthy. Julan seemed thrown by Luna being intelligent but he made concessions to keep her both happy and safe. It was an interesting start to a new world and I look forward to reading Radyn.

The Venkorians "Julan" Book 1
This is the start of a new series for Paige Michaels and she has written a great Alien Daddy romance.
She paints the world so well it is easy to lose yourself in the book. Much more of a slow burn with spanking but the steam is good though. Great new series starter and setup for what I hope has many more books to follow.

This brand new series is something different from anything I have read before. At first I was not sure I was going to enjoy it. I don’t like when feelings get pushed aside and not cared about but it does change, it takes a bit but it does. I am hoping as more girls come a long things change some. Love does form it’s just different. Happy Reading.

Going to be another great series

I enjoyed the alien concept and can anticipate the adventures ahead. This was a gentle little who basically enjoyed her adventure and didn’t give Daddy a hard time

New Series, YAY

Great story about Daddies and Littles in space. If aliens do exist then I hope that I can snag a loving Daddy too.
This is the first of a new Page Michaels series and it is just as good as her other books.
