When it came out in 1979, this would have been at the leading edge of magical theory and practice. Since then, a wealth of translations, and academic work have expanded upon our understanding of both Gnosis, and Magick. That does not detract from the importance of this work. Indeed, it could be the progenitor of Post- Modern Magick, we now know as Chaos Magick. Not so much in its practice, but definitely in its theoretical framework. A notable feature of this work , is it being an example of an early Magick text that tackles the process of working with the Shadow. Yes, it might be dated. But it remains a true gem.
