I've been watching James Martin on television for about a year now and have been keen to try some recipes so I thought Home Comforts would be a good starting point.
James Martin's recipes are easy to follow, and turn out looking pretty much as they are in the book. As a confident cook, I enjoy the fact he sticks with ingredients that are easily sourced and you don't have to run around the shops or scour the internet looking for obscure ingredients few have heard of. I will be adding a few more of Jame's books to my shelves.
I borrowed this off a genuine foodie, so some of the recipes were a little daunting for a kitchen novice. But is written in the same warm style as his TV show which helps, and I was chuffed to master JM's take on toad in the hole.
