Kim Dare has taken me out of the Meh Abyss. I was sinking in crap reads.
Nothing like a little D/s in a office supply closet.
One of my fave authors, who writes D/s effortlessly, creates ultra hot scenes with a little creativity. I mean naked selfies? Who doesn't love that?

THIS. WAS. HOT.
I had no intention of reading this. I saw a post come up in my feed, I clicked the link, read a few paragraphs of the excerpt and was sold. OMG I was so sold because how much hotter could it get than Danny sending his boyfriend dirty photos at work? Dirty progressive photos that lead to a kiss and then -
Yup. Oh and did I mention, I read this AT work. At my desk on my work computer and someone actually walked up and asked if there was smoke coming off my desk. HA! Funny but it was just the steam from my kettle so I could have tea.
So, yeah this was hot and it was sweet and that is what I love about Kim Dare. She brings it and she sucks you in with kinky sex and emotions. But you know what bugs me about Kim Dare? How short her shorts are. Ugh. I could have read pages and pages about Danny and Jake and their next photo session. Or even the first year of them and when they met and what Jake thought of when he first sees Danny and vice versa. I swear I turn into Veruca Salt with these stories, I want it all!
The chemistry oozed off the page with these two and the story is very short, only 21 pages from start to finish including all the PR stuff. But the pages, the pages with Danny giving his Dom/boyfriend Jake the best work anniversary gift ever was so freaking hot. I am totally saving this for work days, like today, that are over whelming and make me want to run and hide in a closet. I will just go in the supply room with Jake and Danny.

‘Hard at Work’ is a nice play on words and, as I expected from Kim Dare, has nothing at all to do with serious work. Well, other than the starting point, since Danny uses sort of a work related excuse to start the whole episode. The humor in this story is as unmistakable as the heat—I mean, who has ever heard of an erotic gay story that takes place entirely in the closet? Yes, I know it sounds strange, you’ll have to read it to see what I mean. I think it’s hilarious!
Jake is a nice guy. A Dom who takes care of his sub, a man whom he loves deeply and has introduced to the kinky games they now like to play. It just gets a little kinkier than anyone had expected when Danny causes him to have an erection at work. When Jake’s patience runs out and he confronts Danny, things get really hot. And not just because the location he chooses for the “confrontation”. The two of them are just that much in love and that kinky.
Danny is cute, a little shy, and still not used to being out. His plan is brilliant, but it may work a little too well when he finds himself facing his very aroused Dom who is now demanding an explanation. Danny comes prepared though, being the good sub he is, and I laughed when the full extent of his planning became clear as he emptied his pockets. What a hilarious idea!
If you like short, hot glimpses into what people might get up to at work (in fiction, at least), if you enjoy reading about loving Doms who give their naughty subs everything they want, all under the guise of “punishment”, and if you’re looking for a hot read with lots of kinky man-on-man action, then you will probably like this short story. I loved the combination of utterly naughty and adorably sweet.
