Dancing with the perfect partner is like the most exquisite climax of your life. Can you feel it? The way our bodies rock together. My hands pinning you down, my mouth sliding over your hot, damp skin. Each hard thrust driving deep to that place you never dreamed possible. Every breathless cry hurtling you closer to the edge. Beyond words. Beyond thought. Beyond reason. Free. I’d all but given up on perfection like that. Until I met her. Annalise. Her body is pure motion; her spirit, a caged bird just waiting to be set free. I will claim her. I will possess her. I will teach her the most erotic dance of all.
*Part two of the sexy, seductive romance serial*
THE DIRTY DANCING FIRST POSITION SECOND POSITION THIRD POSITION -- COMING 12/1
This may contain spoilers if you haven’t read First Position.
Well, that was pretty damn HOT!!! Melody Grace defiantly amped up the heat in the second book in the Dirty Dancing series Second Position.
Second Position picks up right where First Position leaves off. Annalise is unsure if she will be able to dance for one of the coveted solo spots with her ankle severely sprained. Lucky events give her time to rest and heal her ankle before the big try outs. Dancing for her future, Annalise nails her audition and wins the lead in Swan Lake. The only person she wants to celebrate her victory with is Raphael.
Raphael and Annalise relationship grows and changes in Second Position as they begin to open up more, sharing their wants and desires and not just for dance but with each other. Annalise agrees to help Raphael by dancing with him for his audition to join a dance company. The heat and passion between them becomes almost too much for either of them to hold back on now that they are dancing together. Let me tell you, these two have some steam!! They both can’t seem to get enough of each other. Now the question will be can Annalise be able to balance the lead in Swan Lake and dancing with Raphael. Can she have her cake and eat it too? I guess we will find out in Third Position. I can wait!!!!
Second Position picks up right where First Position left off. Annalise is dealing with a possible career ending ankle injury. But as fate would have it, luck was on her side and Annalise will still get her chance to prove that she deserves to dance. At her audition, she decides to give it her all and with thoughts of Raphael in her mind, she gives the performance of her life!
"There is no hiding who you are, not on the dance floor. Dance can strip away every charm and every lie. It shows who someone really is, deep down to their soul"
Even as Annalise decides that she's not going to see Raphael anymore and that she's going to put dance first, she quickly finds that staying away is not as easy as she thought it would be.
"And then I met him. Raphael. From the moment I saw him dancing in the square, I knew, everything would change"
They are undeniably drawn to one another and Annalise decides that she can't...No, she won't stay away.
As things start to look up for Annalise, Raphael also decides that it's time for him to make some decision s for his future. Raphael has an amazing opportunity to audition for an amazing dance company. He turns to Annalise for help. But, will Annalise be able to balance both ballet and dancing with Raphael??
"Some people dance because they enjoy it. For fun. But for others.....we dance because we have to. We want to be great. We need it"-Annalise
"Dancing is not a choice for me. It's everything, every part of who I am. The very blood pumping in my veins"-Raphael
I could not get enough of Annalise and Raphael. Their chemistry on and off the dance floor is off the charts. Things are about to get complicated, but that's to be expected when you're chasing your dreams....Will Annalise and Raphael get what they've always dreamed of ? How many obstacles will they have to face and will they be able to face them together? Or will their love for dance ultimately split them apart? These are the questions I have and I don't know about you, but I can't wait to have them answered!!!

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review from the publisher. It does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
4.5 out of 5 stars
This immediately picks back up right where book 1 stopped. Annalise is dealing with the possible fact that her dancing career might just be over. All of that, just for this guy she just met. But, isn’t it worth it? Is he worth it? Is he worth her dancing career that her mother has so desperately tried to control?
“Imagine it now, that moment when you become more than your physical form, when you are nothing but motion and passion’ wild, pure relentless pleasure. Can you feel it?” — Melody Grace, Second Position
I absolutely loved this sequel and I’m excited to see how it ends! I’m absolutely adoring Raphael!!! I’m loving how this relationship is going and I love them together! Although, it feels a little slow for me. I’m just waiting for that scene… When they are together, holy cow the sexual tension is like complete fog. It’s crazy the amount of sexual tension these 2 have…
I absolutely love the dance aspect of this!!! I think I’ve mentioned this in my review for the first one, but I haven’t really read many dance related books before this series. I’m absolutely loving it!
Second Position, book #2 of the Dirty Dancing series, continues right where book 1 left off.
Annalise is suffering with an injury to her ankle leaving her ballet career in jeopardy. She doesn’t know what she is going to do. Luckily the crew is forced to take a few days off so she can let her ankle rest and she is able to make it through the auditions.
Raphael is captivated by Annalise. He cannot get her out of his mind. She is everything he could have ever hoped for in a woman.
Raphael wants more out of life; he wants to perform in front of an audience that isn’t on the streets. He has the talent and he is offered a chance of a lifetime. Only he needs Annalise’s help.
Annalise is struggling to figure out what she really wants in life. She loves ballet but isn’t sure that is her life long goal. She is determined to help Raphael no matter what she has to do.
Book 1 left off with such a great cliffhanger that I couldn’t wait to see what happens in book 2. However I was quite disappointed when the whole scenario was kind of brushed aside and her ankle was back to normal in a couple days. I think the author should have made it a bit more dramatic to get us really concerned about whether she could dance or not.
I did really enjoy the book though. Raphael and Annalise are hot together. I hope things work out for them in book 3.
I recommend this series to read even if you are not a fan of dance.
Second Position starts where the First ends... after Annalise's ankle injury. She is in a pickle with audition in the morning, but lucky for her missed out on the company dinner. Half the dancers are sick, food poisoning, and the audition are postponed until Monday which gives her enough time to rest her ankle.
Life seems to be going her way now, at least so it seems. Her ankle is feeling better and instead of sitting around the dorms, she decides to head out for a bit. And who should be waiting for her? Raphael! Even after her determination to stay away, she can't help but be attracted to him.
The more time she spends with him, the more she feels alive. Like for once she is living her life for herself and not her mother. Even her dancing has come alive and she is up for a coveted solo. And Raphael is making her feel special, wanted, and teaching her all things sensual.
On the brink of having it all, something or someone could bring it all to an abrupt end.
This series is seriously hot; a journey of finding one's self and sensual discovery. Ms. Grace is taking us on a ride of a lifetime. Annalise and Raphael is amazing together; their chemistry is electric. As a fan of Ms. Grace, this series doesn't disappoint. Can't wait to see how this story unfolds in Third Position!
*** ARC provided by the Author in return for an honest review***
Second Position picks up where we left off with Annalise recovering from her injury. In this installment, both Annalise and Raphael struggle with what their future will hold for them, their careers, and face some hard decisions that must be made. Melody's writing draws you in and you feel every emotion these characters go through. I adored Raphael even more in this installment. I loved how patient and caring he is with Annalise. This book is definitely steamier than the previous installment. It am counting down the days to the conclusion of this series.
Holy Hotness! Raphael won't give up on Annalise and within the first few pages of Second Position, they're right back to smokin' up the pages of your e-reader. This novella gives you a better glimpse at the struggles both Raphael and Annalise face professionally and personally. And of course, another huge cliffhanger! I can't wait for 12/1/14 and their return in Third Position!!
I was eagerly awaiting the continuation of the exciting story between Annalise and Raphael. Can you imagine the exhilaration of falling in love in Rome where the temptation is all-consuming but forbidden? Well, you don't have to imagine it if you read this beautiful serial.
I've fallen in love with it right away. It's got the sweet and feverish tone of first love, but also the powerful lure of a great passion. Every word is touched with emotion. I really enjoy the author's prose. She can make me feel the high risk of ballet dancing, the sacrifice of everything in the name of achievement, the struggle of emotion versus reason, and the mind-blowing sensuality of this couple.
After that cliffhanger in the first part, I had to know what was going to happen to Annalise. She's torn by the sheer pressure of performing to the best of her abilities, with an audition looming over her and threatening her future if she fails. On the other side of ambition, there is Raphael, all glorious male beauty, who also has dreams his own stash of loneliness. It's so good to see how well they fit, emotionally and physically.
I like everything, though there are a few favourite moments like the celebration at a traditional Italian restaurant that feels so cozy and full of joy, or their first intimate scene together. So intense!
This combination of dancing and love is so powerful. Both Annalise and Raphael are changing their lives from the moment they meet. It's risky, dangerous, but also freeing. I love that about the story.
This is one of my favourite serials so far because of the dancing theme, the beauty of the words and feelings, and so much passion and sensibility in it.
The cliffhanger is perfect. I have to read the third part no matter what!
Favourite quotes: I haven't fallen, I'm flying. Soaring on a rush like nothing I've ever felt before. I want our bodies to tell an epic story.
I am still in two mind about "serial books"....but Second Position starts up right where the cliffhanger in the first episode left us.
Annalise is dealing with decisions and dilemma's, her ankle injury, the audition for the main part in Swan Lake and the real toughie, to put Raphael out of her life and concentrate on her dance career. But Raphael is also coming to decisions for his future and turns to Annalise for help when he is offered an audition for a dance company.....that was *hawt*steam*phew*puddle of goo*......
I enjoyed this episode more than the first, mainly because there is more substance to the relationship between Raphael and Annalise, something Melody does well and which I felt was missing from the first one (but this may be due to it being an episode of a story, rather than the full thing...did I mention I am still in two minds about serial books?). There seemed to be more packed into this and it read well. Again, I am going to complain about the cliffhanger...but I am a little more understanding.....but with a Mum like that....who needs enemies??
Bring on part 3!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Thank God Raphael is back!!! And his time he is hotter and sexier than ever! When we left off Annalise is left with a bad ankle injury! I feared for the worse, as did Annalise. Thank goodness she pulled through. I was hoping her ballet career was not over!
Annalise and Raphael can not stop thinking about each other. Even when Annalise puts her career in jeopardy by sneaking off with him, she can't wait until their next stolen moment together. Maybe the forbiddingness has something to do with it!
This installment was off the charts steamy. I mean, Raphael is such a gentleman and knows Annalise has to be treated like a lady. They have some of the hottest moments in a book! I was thinking that Annalise is a very lucky lady ;) !
Just when Annalise and Raphael seem to have a perfect discrete relationship, things take a drastic turn when...... sorry I can't tell you!! But, if you read this installment you will NOT be disappointed!!
Well well well this book was hotter the then first. Raphael is scorching hot for Annalise, she may be young and naive but she knows a good thing when she see it. The way he takes such care with her and understands he needs to go slow and drag her pleasure out it soooo hot. I only hope she can find her voice to stand strong against her mother. Love this book it's a must read but all of Melody Grace's books are. Thanks again for the ARC. Also it only took me about an hour to read this book, I could not put it down......and neither will you.
Things are steaming up with Raphael and Annalise! I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is such a sweet story. Two dancers, that dance different types of dance, quickly falling in love! Annalise takes so many chances to be with Raphael, as she soon realizes he's something special!! Cliffhanger alert.....it involves her mom!!
I received an ARC of this book, and let me just say I'm so glad because I'm not sure I could wait any longer for more Raphael!! As I said in my review of First Position, I did read With Every Heartbeat. This definitely takes that story much further. You can see the passion for not only dance, but each other, jumping off the pages. Cannot wait for Third Position!!
I received this book in exchange for a honest review. This book took up where book 1 ended. Annalise and Rafael are getting closer, She wins a double solo after her ankle heals. He has an audition in 1 month for a dancing company and he needs a partner. This book had a doozy of a cliff hanger. She must now choose, her career or her love? I can't wait until book 3 to find out!
Hmmm when I purchased the original title, With Every Heartbeat back in November 2013 I only paid $.99 for the entire book. Now that $.99 full length book has been chopped into THREE parts with each installment costing $2.99...?? I don't like that AT ALL...
This series is heating up very nicely! I'm loving Annalise and Rafael's story! Can't wait to read Part #3! I need more Rafael and dying to know what happens.
Second Position is the second installment in the Dirty Dancing Serial by Melody Grace. The Dirty Dancing Serial is actually a revised and expanded version of With Every Heartbeat, that was previously published by Melody Grace. While most of the story is the same, there are additional scenes and POVs that were not in the original version. Second Position is a continuation of Raphael and Annalise's story, and should only be read after First Position.
This installment picks up right where the cliffhanger of First Position left off, with Annalise hurting her ankle and wondering how she will possibly be able to perform at her audition. Annalise gets lucky and her time to prepare is extended, allowing her ankle to heal. But with her career on the line, Annalise realizes that now more than ever she needs to focus on dance and unfortunately that means staying away from Raphael. But Raphael is determined to make things up to Annalise and show her that what is between them is real and worth pursuing. Can Annalise have it all, or was her injury enough to convince her that some risks aren't worth taking?
I felt like this installment really showed things heating up between Annalise and Raphael. We really get to see the chemistry and passion between them as well as their growing connection to one another. They start to really get to know one another, and for the first time really get to spend some time together. Annalise and Raphael are extremely hot together, but what makes them work so well is how much they understand one another. They connect in a way that most people aren't able to because of their love and passion for dancing. They might have different styles, but they are able to understand all the same. It was great seeing them open up to each other more and for them to be able to talk about what they want for themselves in the future. I like how supportive and encouraging they are of each other, and I think we really get to see that in this installment. Second Position does end with another cliffhanger, and you will definitely be left wanting more.
While I like the revamped version giving us more steam and more of Raphael's thoughts and feelings, I had the same issue with this installment as I did with the previous one. Because of the switch from a novel to a serial, the story feels as though it is disjointed. I think some of this is due to the fact that I know the story and had read With Every Heartbeat. I know where things go from here and I see where the story was stopped in the middle of. I am not sure if it would feel so fragmented had I not previously read this though, so there is a chance that this is just because I know the story already. I do think that this is worth reading, and I think that fans of Melody Grace that haven't previously read this will definitely want to check it out. If you have read With Every Heartbeat and enjoyed it, I think that you will enjoy seeing more of Raphael's POV as well as more heat with this serial. But I am honestly not sure if I would buy this having already read With Every Heartbeat. While the extras have been fun and it's been great to see new content, I am not sure that they really add that much more to the story to justify the cost.
Contemporary meets classical ballet in this fast pace, sexy take on dance spiced with a really hot romance. This is the second novella in Melody Grace’s serial, Dirty Dancing and it takes up where book one left off. Annalise and Raphael’s story will stir your imagination while they heat up not only the dance floor, but also the bedroom.
Annalise has breathed, ate and dreamed of ballet all her life. Her mother was a prima ballerina and had always let Annalise know how disappointed she was in her for not accomplishing the same. A trip to Rome with a possible solo opportunity is her last chance not to let her mother down and fulfill her dreams. But meeting Raphael and dancing with him changes so many things for Annalise. Can she win her place as a ballerina and still dance with Raphael? Or will she loose the freedom she finds in Raphael’s arms?
From the moment he held her in his arms and they danced together in perfect harmony, Raphael knew she was the only one for him. He wants her not only on the dance floor but also everywhere else! Will he be able to convince her to dance with him? Can he persuade her to be a part of his life? As circumstances unfold between them, their time together may only be a dream. Read this remarkable story and become part of their erotic dance!
Would I recommend this book: Yes! If you want a hot alpha male that really knows how move, then this is a definite read! The setting for this series is romantic, chemistry is scorching and the sexy interaction is beyond hot!
Would I recommend this author: Yes! This is definitely an author that knows how to touch her readers with her sizzling stories and enthralling characters. Each book that Ms. Grace’s submits to her fans is better than the one before. She is a must read author!

The Second Position will live you totally breathless!! I enjoyed every page of this book, can not wait to read Third Position!! Annalise comes to understand that Raphael wants her, but she still confused with the feeling that goes with the emotions that she feels for him. Raphael brings out thing in her , that she has never felt or new existed, but in books. Annalise knows only the world of ballet, and she believed that is all she will ever want, until Raphael. Raphael has never felt a true connection with another, until Annalise. Raphael wants to teach her pleasure, but with her only a step at a time. The more they come to learn their hopes and dreams, they become to understand each other so much more. When Annalise try's out for a part in ballet production, Raphael is the first person she goes to share the news. She knows her feeling are strong, but what happens with Raphael after Rome?? Raphael talks to Annalise about the try out with a well-known dance company, that could mean a career for him. Annalise supports his dream, like he supports her in her dream. But, Annalise is learning that ballet is not all that she wants, and all that's in her heart. This story is so breath-taking, a girl that lived her whole life for ballet, only to see that there might just be something she wants other than ballet. You have to read to find out how truly wonderful this story is!! I love how Melody Grace writes a story that makes you feel like your a part of the story!! Love you Melody-with your great writing!! Totally Recommend to all my adult romance readers!! Go get this Trilogy, you won't regret! AWESOME BOOK!!
Annalise is still striving for perfection as our second installment begins. She feels so guilty about her ankle and only a miracle saves her. She gets a reprieve and the time to heal so she can audition successfully.]
Her growing attraction to Raphael is becoming all she can think of. She is torn between dedication to what her mother has forced her to dedicate her life to and her desire for more in life.
Besides a great storyline, we are presented with a classic story of a parent living vicariously through her child's life. Annalise's mother lives her life with the regret that she retired too early from being a prima ballerina. The pressure to live to her mother's expectations is such that I am surprised Annalise has not manifested symptoms of an eating disorder. With her mother practically starving her to maintain a ridiculous low weight, Annalise has existed all her life under such a strict regimen it is a wonder she has not rebelled. For the first time in her life, Annalise is actually asking herself what she wants out of life. One thing is for sure, she does not want to be berated anymore. No matter how hard she works she is never able to elicit praise from her mother.
Melody Grace turns up the heat in this installment of our story. The passion Raphael is able to strike in Annalise, scorches our pages. He still is respecting her virginity, but everything else is on the menu as he teaches Annalise about passion, pleasure, and the freedom of dancing without restrictions.
Review of Second Position (Dirty Dancing #2) by Melody Grace
Review done for Hooked on Books
4 out of 5 stars
Thankfully we pick up right where we left off !! Annalise is hurt and may have to miss her audition. She has lived for this moment , this is what it is all about for her and of course her mother. A second life is given to Annalise when the audition gets postponed and she is able to heal. Trying to avoid Raphael is not easy because he is NOT giving up !! He wants to teach her many things and he is not ready for her to let him go. Despite being strangers their connection goes deeper than we think. It doesn't take long for Raphael to get back in and their relationship begins to grow. They spend time together , dance together and Raphael teaches Annalise things she didn't know about love and life. They share their lives and hopes and dreams. When Annalise nails her audition she shares her excitement with Raphael. This is her dream and although she does love to dance she still seems to feel uneasy about pushing herself to fill her mother's shoes. There is a story to her mother and why she pushes , will we ever get to figure that out ?? Planning on helping Raphael with one of his longtime dreams annalise now has to manage her own solo on top of Raphael's dance. Can she balance the two or will her world come crashing down as she tries to do too much ?? When it all catches up to Annalise and her cover is blown who is there to clean up her mess ??
Yes we end again with a sort-of cliffy !! I just have to know what happens next and if Annalise can get the best of both worlds !!
Oh yes, after reading First Position, I HAD to get my hands on this one - and I am sure glad I did.
Raphael wants no-one but Annalise. Her movement is beautiful, her dance exquisite and he is determined to claim and possess her. To make her his only dance partner...if only he can help her escape her gilded cage.
Second Position picks up immediately where First Position left off, and dove straight into the story. I appreciated that it almost immediately dealt with Annalise and Raphael's near miss - and the potential consequences of it. And while I felt some parts of the story came a little out of the blue - previously supportive Karla's sudden disapproval - overall, I loved the flow of the story.
Raphael and Annalise had incredible sizzle and it was easy to visualize how that would translate into dance - and in bed. The moments with them together, learning each other, were wonderful, and when they were *ahem* together, well, it made me consider a cold shower.
Ending with a cliffhanger, I can't help but wonder what will happen next and, more importantly, how I will cope with the wait before I can find out.
Second Position is the second book in the Dirty Dancing serial. It is not a standalone book. ~ Beth, 4.5 stars
As Annalise Taylor and Raphael Gibraldi grow closer, they continue to awaken feelings in each other that will lead them to focus their passion into becoming what they are destined to be. As Annalise opens herself to the passion that Raphael has ignited in her, she finds that she is growing in her art, putting everything into securing her place in the ballet company. Raphael, too, is changing. No longer content to put his dream on hold, and inspired by the fire that he feels when he is with Annalise, he decides to move forward with his plan to audition for the Company.
SECOND POSITION is just as hot as its predecessor, as Annalise and Raphael grow closer, and she allows herself to experience all of the passion that he is awakening in her. And as both grow closer to the realization of their respective dreams, they grow closer too to giving in to the desire that threatens to consume them.
THIRD POSITION, the last installment in the series, can't come quickly enough. I cannot wait to see how the story ends, and what Melody has in store for Annalise, Raphael, and all of the supporting cast of characters that have made this series such an enjoyable read.
Second Position picks up right where First Position leaves off. Annalise is unsure if her ankle will be okay to dance and she is still unsure about what to do with Raphael. Raphael, he isn’t going to just walk away from Annalise. He is determined to show her just how hot these two can be both on the dance floor and in bed. I honestly thought that my kindle was going to start smoking from how hot these two are for each other and they haven’t even had sex yet! I feel like I am on that edge where just one faint touch could send me over into a pleasurable oblivion. Even with their dancing it is a form of foreplay, and if Raphael is that hot dancing, I can only begin to imagine how hot he will be in the bedroom. Second Position, like First Position ends in a cliff hanger, one that makes you want to scream in frustration because you really do not want to have to wait to read more. I really can’t wait to read the final installment of this serial because I need to find out exactly how many moves Raphael will have and if Annalise and Raphael are able to not only find their happily ever after but if their dance dreams come true.
Read more reviews at A Lust for Reading. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I. Love. This. Serial.
Why?
Raphael
Sweet baby Jesus he is amazing and the way Melody writes him as he is dancing... I can see him moving sensually to the music in my mind. I want to do bad things to him.
And I love how Annalise is going away from her normal behavior of being 200% focused on ballet to making lots of room for Raphael. I do not, however, like a certain Italian chic and her jealousy. Yup just added a second person to my "needs to be bitch slapped list" right below dear old mom.
A lot happens in book two despite it being a quick read. There is dancing and some hot and heavy make-out sessions, finally ending on quite the surprise. Annalise has to decide if Raphael is worth the risk. I know what my answer is but what will hers be?
I really am enjoying this serial immensely and I am dying for the third and final installment!
The story of Raphael and Annalise picks up right after the end of First Position and this one is even better! Although she tries to ignore him to concentrate on landing her solo, Rafa is having none of it and is determined to see her again. To Annalise's surprise, she finds herself finding more passion for dancing as a result of his influence and encouragement. The heat between them reaches new heights and Annalise finds herself falling for the handsome spirited Italian.
Raphael has a decision of his own to make- he wants to take his dancing from the street to something more professional but that means leaving his best friend and brother for all intents and purposes behind. Luca eventually understands and supports Rafa- his sister and Rafa's dance partner Francesca, not so much. So Rafa proposes a solution to the problem but he needs Anna's help to make it happen. Can she handle the pressure coming at her from all sides, especially when she gets back to the dorm to find her worst nightmare waiting for her? We'll have to wait a few weeks to find out and I can't wait!
