Swing From a Star

Rate this book
Beautiful, talented Gail Scott was one of Hollywood's biggest box office attractions. At 23, the girl with the heart-shaped face had starred in three very successful movies and had another in the planning stage. So her announcement that she was "retiring" to a small New England town stunned the movie colony. It also came as a shock to the residents of Springville, who weren't at all sure they wanted a glamorous actress for a neighbor. Cynics said it was a publicity stunt, but Gail didn't care what anybody thought, as long as the people in Springville whose opinions she cared about -- people like young real-estate agent John Mitchell and lumberman Tom Underwood -- believed she was sincere. True, it was a long way from Hollywood to Springville -- and not just in miles -- but Gail felt at home in no time... until the first of the anonymous letters came.
