This collection of poems about Ancient Rome would be great to use in a history class to get students interested in learning about Ancient Rome. The rhyming poetry and accompanying illustrations introduce the reader to many interesting aspects of Ancient Rome, including important people, places, and events. many of the pages include pronunciations and additional information below the poetry. This book can teach students a lot, but it also leaves some questions unanswered. The poetry is a good way to introduce some things and get children interested in learning more about them from other sources. Luckily, the back of the book includes a list of other books and websites where more information on Ancient Rome can be found.
