I hate Mandy Dowson. No, hang on a second, I really do. Everytime I read one of her books it make me want to drive to her house and knock on her windows, drag her from her cosy bed, and make her sit at her desk and write a book just for me! Too much? I don't care because I love this author and her skill and ability so much. I say skill and ability because she obviously has talent in spades, but her nimble little fingers weave a web of intrigue so damn good that I liken her to a little spider at a web. Too much again? Don't care.
Donovan is back!!! My little wounded solider, he's out for revenge after being poisoned by the she-wolf known as Felicity at the end of "Bound by Fate". Donovan has broken away from the pack and is now a free wolf, but, no man or wolf is an island, and soon Donovan has to accept help from a new pack. It's here his story emerges and his anger at this woman comes bubbling to the surface. We learn that she not only tore his world apart, but she also causes pain by killing humans and in doing so breaks scared law.

Adelphi the Alpha Female of this new pack, feels a connection to Donovan..wait..isn't she married to the Alpha. Yup, so some angst there. Adelphi helps Donovan and they go to find Felicity in an effort to end her reign of terror. Donovan grows as a character a lot in this book and eventually we see his feelings for another female named Greta, blossom.
Greta is a tonic, smart and sassy she is taking no crap from Donovan. I wanted these two to pair from the get-go, of course Donovan being a typical bloke waits until he nearly loses her in order to win her.
Loved this book. Best in the series so far. Mandy Dowson is an author who is just finding her feet. I cannot wait to see where she drags us in the future. I'm clinging to the bonnet!

First I need to thank Mandy for providing me with an ARC of Bound by Revenge in exchange for an honest review. And secondly, Holy Crap. Talk about a heart racing, over intense and exhausting story. Ha! I freaking LOVED IT! Totally deserves more than a 5, ‘cause just damn.
Revenge. Anger. Deceit. Fear. Pride. All things that can get us into trouble but only if we give in to the animal inside us. That is exactly what Donovan Tall Grass, now a free wolf on a mission to hunt down a former pack mate. A healer. A murderer. The one woman responsible for the death of his mother. The revelation is something that has settled into his bones. He will have his revenge no matter the cost. Not only for his mother, now, but for himself. As she fled the confines of the Tall Grass Pack Felicity poisoned Donovan with silver and wolfs bane. It has hindered him during his travels as he tracks her. Having to stop and seek out the healers of the other packs. The fear and unknown seeping into him as he approaches a new pack. They could see him as a rogue wolf and attack without giving him a chance to explain his reasons for being there.
When he comes across the Dapple Woods Pack he meets Greta and Marc. He is taken to their healer, as a free wolf he is watched but he poses them no danger. As one wolf could never take on a pack. Even if he is a strapping young brute. There is something about this pack, their lackadaisical ways that intrigue yet get under his skin. Especially Greta. She is a total smart ass. A hot smart-ass at that. She has a beauty that is more with her than just her looks. She manages to get under Donovan’s skin at every turn of his hand. (Its quite comical.)
But with her along side him they set out to track down Felicity. As they search they come across yet another victim of hers. She is attacking humans and just leaving them about as they are. She has become reckless and it is going to cause them all trouble if they can’t get rid of her. And that task right there is not an easy one. She gives them the slip many times. Causing more pain and aggression to rise in the ones left in her wake. She slips them many times. There is something about her that has them puzzled. It isn’t until the Alpha female calls in the Council for help. Seems Felicity has turned herself into a Chimera. Part wolf, part vampire, part human… and a whole lotta crazy! She was nuttier than a basket full of nuts but now, she’s off the deep end.
Things with Donovan and Greta change slowly as they work together. Bth denying that things are different and push themselves further apart. One night as her heat hits Greta pushes him away. Out of her room and he willingly goes. This is the night he meets the original Chimera. Part wolf, vampire and warlock. He too is after Felicity. Seems the nasty thing she has become is because she stole his blood. HA. (Such a man thing to say) As they are out talking Greta is taken… that’s when things really get wild. (well wilder.)
Donovan and the Chimera set off after Felicities trail. He has to find Greta. Of course he blames himself for not staying close and keeping her safe. He left her in her heat, alone, no one around to protect her. Thankfully Felicity left them a crumb trail.. as in way of pieces of Greta’s clothes covered in blood. (Told ya she was bat shit crazy!) But Donovan is able to track her, finally. He agrees to trade himself for Greta. And it was going so well until Felicity decided that wasn’t going to happen. Though through pure willpower and determination after hours of torture they both manage to escape. But… again that doesn’t last long. Donovan makes it so Greta can escape. Ordering her to run to her pack, to get help. Trusting he can keep Felicity occupied long enough to ensure the females protection. That’s when the real torture begins. In many forms. But he holds out for the female and the pack to return.. only he hopes Greta doesn’t see him this way.. when he slips into darkness its time once again to see things he may not be ready for but he needs to see them.
I can’t say enough about this series. It’s fantastic. Full of energy, humor, pain, and pure unadulterated madness. But only the best kind. So many emotions are written within the pages that you, yourself are on the ride along with the characters. With each book (as this is technically the 3rd in the series) the intensity of the emotions grows. I can’t wait for more! This is definitely one of my favorite new series I have come across this year.

Bound by Revenge begins with the reintroduction of Donovan. He has been injured by Felicity, a crazy and ill-spirited "healer". He has also recently learned the truth of his mother's death, and is out to seek vindication for her. He is physically run-down and emotionally exhausted, feeling anger, hurt, and betrayal. Thus begins his journey to quench his need for revenge. We see that he has left his pack, and is now in search of Felicity. However, because of his injuries, he has had to seek out the help of other packs. In making these choices and allowing his anger and animosity to consume him, he has opened the door for an array of events that will have a spiraling effect and lead him to places he never imagined.
"Greta intrigued him, made him think, and made him smile, even knowing he was likely smiling at his own expense. She was an enigma."
We are led to meet the dashing and uninhibited Greta as Donovan finds his way to the Dappled Wood Pack to seek out their healer and find some aid for his still suffering body. There seems to be a draw between Donovan and Greta, but it is overshadowed by others around them and their own personal denials. He learns of recent events in the area where this pack lives, and an arrangement is made that would assist both he and the Dappled Wood Pack.
As the story continues, we find Donovan constantly searching, but never quite grasping the fulfillment of the goal for which he began this overwhelming campaign. We are allowed brief glimpses into his tortured mind...tethered to the past, wandering in the present, and hoping against hope that he lives to have a future. Many secrets are revealed that show us various aspects of other characters that play pivotal roles in the story's overall development. We are also given further insight into the hierarchy of the paranormal world and the way in which it governs those to whom it has charge over. Our hearts break with and for the main characters as they continually struggle to right the wrongs that are the cause of the present evil. Then, in a twist of fate, we find that life's gifts are sometimes short-lived. But, in the story world, there is always room for redemption.
I was bewitched by Bound by Revenge. The writing in the story continued to be strong, and what I have come accustomed to from Author Mandy Lou Dowson. However, the unique feel of the story was different from the initial book in the series, which seemed to be a reflection of the different personalities of the characters in it. From the moment I began reading, the story was fast-paced. Whether with humor, banter, feuding, or loving, the words flowed from page to page and created a delightful swirl of emotions and longing. The character of Donovan was charming and engaging, and Greta was his feisty contrast. Together they set this book on fire! The unexpected twists and turns in the story made my Kindle page-flipping-finger itch to press quicker and quicker to make the pages advance. I thought that the weaving in of characters from the past amplified an already extraordinary story. Add in the many supporting characters with their quirky, yet arresting ways, and a truly great paranormal romance story is complete.
One of my favorite quotes that made my heart go pitter-patter and planted a giant smile on my face...

I was given an ARC book for an honest review, free of persuasion from the author or anyone else affiliated with this book.
CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS
This story is told from the male lead's point of view. I have to say that I love books with various point of views and would like to have seen it from the female lead's point of view as well. I can see why Ms.Dowson only chose the male lead POV further on in the book. I would loved to have seen parts of this book from a couple of the female leads point of view later on.
WARNING: DOES CONTAIN SOME ADULT SITUATIONS AND CONTENT
Bound by Revenge is the second book in the Moon Bound Series. This book starts off with a much bigger bang than the rest of the Moon Bound books and does not let up during the whole book. This book also goes more in depth with the characters and evolved more about the plot around the whole Moon Bound Series. If you have not yet read Bound by Fate you will be confused in this book and not know about the back story and the leading up unto the current events.
We met Donovan, who this book follows, in Bound by Fate. He is in search for revenge for his mother's killer, Felicity. He is septic with poison in his system. He is almost dead when he stumbles upon this tribe of wolves who take them to their healer. He is intrigued by one mysterious woman who seems to hold her own against him and the Alpha. The Alpha has taken a liking to him even though she is mated. Oh what is Donovan to do? While he is healing from a transfusion, can not get Felicity off of his mind and wants to track her. He is a free wolf, by that I mean he has the free wolf signature on him from his tribe. When he gets healed as much as he can he goes to track Felicity, but not without help.
Greta is new in this book, she is a no nonsense type of gal. She takes no crap from anyone and can hold her own against any male, Alpha or not. I like her, simply because she is independent yet she seems to want to be rescued only if it is by her one true mate. We learn that Greta is part of this tribe that Donovan has stumbled upon and she is the only one the Alpha female will let help him in his quest for Felicity.
While they are hunting for Felicity they meet some rather unusual people and creatures of the sort. If I told you about them that would spoil the fun in the book. I would have to say this is my favorite of the Moon Bound Series so far simply because of the characters in the book and the adventures they stumble upon during their track for Felicity.
Do they finally find Felicity? If so, what happens to Donovan and Greta when they do? Does Donovan finally get his revenge? Who makes it out alive? I will tell you one little spoiler, one main character dies.
You have to read the book to find who it is and why. This book will take you to the brink of your emotions and back again! What Mandy has done in this book will make you hungry for more of the Moon Bound Series, heck, it will make you hungry for more of her writing!

This is the second instalment from the Moon Bound series and what a book Mandy takes you on another journey with her pack. we are back with Donovan who was in the first book of this series Bound By Fate, where he took on the role of a villain but just maybe with hopes of changing and we learn that he does in this amazing story,
I truly loved Greta from the moment we first meet her she is full or beauty wit and sarcasm and oomph and you just no she will give Donovan a run for his money, And i warmed up to Donovan in a big way he got me thinking how would i feel if i had been through what he has would i be the same?
And Mandy usage of the mythological Chimera was so imaginative it had me going to google to no more.
My favourite paragraph in the book which made me melt,
"No, he wagged a finger in a circular motion.
"Turn around,face the wall "
With a small frown,she capitulated,
flattening herself to the shabby wooden siding.
"so now what?"
Her breath whooshed out of her in a harsh exhale
as he pressed himself against her back.
i could not fault this book at all
This is an amazing fast paced well read and amazingly written book if you haven't already fallen in love with Mandy and her work then you will.
If your a fan of such writers as Kresley Cole or JR Ward then this is right up your alley

WOW! I love, love a good dark paranormal romance especially if it has a happy ending and Mandy Dowson delivers, big time!
Bound by Revenge is fast paced, exciting and so very creative. This inventive book has some wonderfully dark and wildly sexy scenes that truly fired up my imagination... literally. I started writing again. :D *This is me smiling because Mandy Dowson writes wonderful stories*
Her treatment of the mythological Chimera was imaginative and fresh. Mandy's entire treatment of the paranormal aspects of this story were very entertaining but it was her treatment of the emotional aspects of real, live people that truly makes me eager to read more by this talented author.
Bound by Revenge is a powerful tale of how the thirst for revenge can darken a soul and ultimately rob a person of their very life and even their soul. I love reading PNR because the author can interweave the improbable/impossible with the likely and commonplace to make a tale that's exciting, riveting and touching all at the same time. And Mandy does this wonderfully.
Bound by Revenge is fast paced, exciting and so very creative. This inventive book has some wonderfully dark and wildly sexy scenes that truly fired up my imagination... literally. I started writing again. :D *This is me smiling because Mandy Dowson writes wonderful stories*
Her treatment of the mythological Chimera was imaginative and fresh. Mandy's entire treatment of the paranormal aspects of this story were very entertaining but it was her treatment of the emotional aspects of real, live people that truly makes me eager to read more by this talented author.

This was an amazing continuation story of this great Were series. I loved this story, hell bent on revenge Donovan is blinded with his hatred for one female in particular and he will hunt her down to make her pay for past indiscretions against him and his family.
Meeting another Were pack on his search for his prey he must accept their help if he is to survive his enemy as unknown powers and the game changes when unknown poison's are at work. He tries to resist but there is one she-wolf who will be his savior whether he want's to be saved or not. Only by working together and finally giving in to the temptation to explore their new urge's, feelings and sexual attraction do they realize that together they are strong and may just survive this nightmare.

Great Revelations!
I was gifted this book by author Mandy Lou Dowson for an honest review.
Ms. Dowson's books only get better! I read All the books in the Moon Bound series one after the other and I can only say wow!
In this book in the series we read all about Donovan's quest to avenge his mothers death at the hands of his Pack healer Felicity.
Felicity poisoned Donovan with dust that seeped into his blood and makes him very weak and in need of blood transfusions.
During one of these bouts, he meets up with a very feisty she wolf from a pack very different from the ones he's known all his life.
Now he is paired up with this very annoying, and motor mouthed Greta in search of Felicity, thought to be the rogue that has been turning the humans in the packs territory.
Will Donovan be able to get his revenge with this annoying, yet tempting she wolf hot on his heals?
In this book we learn why the pack wars must be and the Great Mothers involvement in it. Here we can anticipate what will be in the future of the packs
This is a story full of evil, action and lots of revelation.
I really can't wait for the next book. I totally recommend this series to all lovers of the Paranormal.

I truly enjoy the element of intrigue Mandy Dawson includes in her works. The lack of predictability combined with heavy emotional atmospheres ensuring to capture and harness a reader's attention.
There is more of Donovan's story to be told and is the primary focus in this tale. As for the female protagonist, Greta, there is much more to her than initially meets the eye. It seems much of the bantering that is created from the snarky female may be her wall of protection. The question is why? Some of those answers are certainly surprising and a little heart breaking.
The execution of the graphic scenes and explicit detail are tenfold the prior 2 books. That alone will keep Mandy Dowson's fans returning.
As more mythological creatures make entrance to this series, a deeper plot unfolds building much anticipation for the next book in the series. I personally cannot satiate my hunger for the Bound series.

This was one intense reading. I was so emotionally drained by the end. And the ending I think is fantastic. Mandy Lou Dowson is quickly becoming one of my favourite writers. I cannot wait to see what book 3 brings.

I received this book as an ARC and I was so happy to read it and review it based on the fact that I had read the first novel in this series and absolutely loved it also. Ms Dowson once again grabbed me at the first page and took me on another wild ride!! As with the first book the characters were so real for me and it transported me into the wonderful world of werewolves and magic. It absolutely left me wanting more of these characters and a look into their lives. If you are tired of the same old paranormal romances then look no further as the Moon Bound series is so well written that it will grab you and reel you into its magical world and leave you craving oh so much more. I so Can't wait for the next installment!!!!

This series just keeps getting better and better and this book is no exception. There is more twists and turns in this story line. I love the characters interaction in this story and the flow of the story is very smooth.
This is for any paranormal romance book lover. Get ready for the ride of your life when you get pulled into this book.

You know that book where two people rub each other the wrong way, yet you can feel the sexual tension buzzing around whenever they are in the room together, and then finally................Yep this is that book. Your heart goes out to Donavan for all that he has gone through and you really want him to get the girl and find happiness. This book is action packed and the ending will drive you crazy and leave you with want of the next books release. Mandy knows how to weave a story and make you feel as though you are there.

I was very fortunate to receive an ARC of this and boy did I love it! I loved getting to see more of Donovan and he finds Greta in his search for revenge against Felicity. What grows between them is beautiful to read even if it's not a smooth path. Lots of action, love and suspense and I totally loved it! Well done Ms Dowson on a fabulous story!

This was an AWSOME story! Donovan was a killer hero.. There was a lot of action. I felt for Donovan, all the troubles and pain he had to go through. I had no sympathy for his step mother, who he was chasing. Second book in serial.

This is a great book. Donovan is marked as a free wolf of the Tall Grass Pack. He has set out to talk revenge on Felicity. He ends up in Dappled Wood territory. There are lots of new interesting characters, lots of twists and turns during Donovan's journey. I look forward to the next book.

Some of the best books I've read! While I didn't like being in Donovan's head as much as Beth's, I still love Dawson's worldbuilding and attention to detail. I never know where her stories are going to go! Amazing! Definitely getting the next in the series.

So following on from the recent review of Mandy Dowson's first book "Bound by Fate", comes the second book in the Moon Bound Series. Where do I start?
We return to Donovan, who was badly poisoned by the she-wolf known as Felicity at the end of "Bound by Fate". He has broken way from the pack and is now a free wolf/vogue however comes across a pack whilst looking for treatment of his recent poisoning. It's then that his story unravels as we see his anger for the woman who had broken his world apart and she causes unnecessary mayhem by going off randomly in some kind of madness and kills innocent humans. Breaking more sacred pack laws.
Adelphi the Alpha Female of this pack, despite having a husband latches onto Donovan. But she is already mated to the Alpha Male so there is some strain there....however Adelphi takes Donovan on board, helps him heal and a group of the pack go on to find Felicity once and for all. Their journey is a difficult one. With blood, tears, sex (very hot by the way!), and generally see Donovan grow in feelings for a female member of the pack, Greta.
Greta deserves a round of applause in this book, she is smart, cocky beyond words and you can never tell when she is serious or not LOL. From the start I noticed their attraction and desperately wanted them to be together. But unfortunate and awful, circumstances would only be the way to finally let Donovan reveal his true feelings for the unmated female.
I've never read a book before with so many mythical creatures (werewolves, witches, vampires, chimeras...) and felt so completely encapsulated with. My heart desperately wanting nothing but happiness for both Donovan and Greta who both seemed like they held their guards up.
But will someone close to Donovan make an appearance when he thinks all hope is gone? When he's ready to give up all hope? But will this uninvited stranger be too much for Greta or her pack to accept, given the troubles they may bring with them?! Oooh I want to tell you but I can't....you MUST go read this....it's actually the best paranormal romance I've read.
The tears fell on a few occasions throughout the book....I winced in pain for the characters I had grown so fond of through dark twists, and emotions ran high throughout.
As for the hotness level?! Well it's bloody steamy. But also strangely sensual knowing that the pair had one another and their acts went beyond just the physical act of sex....so simply another brilliantly written book by Mandy Dowson and feel very privileged to get a first glance of this book. Keep up the hard work lovely from all of us here in Bookland x

As his anger toward her came out we find out that besides king his father she has been killing humans, there by destroying scared pack law.They need to stop her for good.As they travel, they will meet different kinds of creatures, witches, vampires, chimeras. There will be many adventures,love, lust,evil, action as it gets more complicated we will learn more revaluations. We w ill find out why there are the different tribes. We will find out about the futures of the packs.Will they find Felicity? Can they stop her? Will Donovan and Greta get together as mates?Will they all survive? Will anyone die? If you thought the first book was good, well you havent seen anything yet! it starts off a little slow then builds up to the point of holding you hostage in the story! It sucks you in and wont let go! Greta is a smart ass that makes you fall in love with her and Donovan twists your heart knowing the pain and anguish he's gone through... this story is jam packed full of action, suspense and sexy sexy scenes...definitely doesn't disappoint! A true storyteller in her own right Mandy Dowson does it again! I can't wait for the next one!

So much in one story!
Mandy continues where many things left off in book 1 of the Moon Bound series with Donovan in pursuit of revenge. The story-line and heat in this book are incredible and there are some awesome twists along with the introduction of some other magical beings. This book is addiction from beginning to end and this reader can't wait for the next one!

Intense!!
Oh my goodness!! Mandy has really outdone herself this time!! I love this series and Bound by Revenge was by far the best one yet!! Emotional, edgy and dark all at the same time. Had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
