Domesticated

I was once told that I was like an animal. Animals were naturally conditioned, just like the rodent that I was, I needed to be conditioned. Aristocrats in our class had a trained way of living. Women had their place beside their hard-working spouses and weren't allowed to rock the boat.

As a small child, I believed in the preparation requirements. Once learned, a conditioned response is hard to get past. No matter how much I tried, it was a part of me - deep within my subconscious. No matter how much I wanted it to be different, it never was, and nobody could change what had been acclimatized profoundly in my mind.

I knew what I did was wrong. I knew what I hid from the world was dirty. And I knew Garrison would never understand. However, I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t control it. No matter how hard I tried. It was always there, always a part of me, and who I was.

I don’t even know where to start. Jettie is such an amazing Author. This is my 2nd book by Jettie and it would most definitely not be my last. But I do feel after reading one of Jettie’s books that you need a simple I love you, I need to f*ck you book bwahahaha! If you’ve read one of her books you will know what I mean.

This how I felt after reading this:

1. Or I must take a extremely cold shower:

2. or I need Xanax haha!

This is my Kendra:

Kendra is 29 and have been married to Garrison (pencil dick haha) I love that part! They have been married for 5 years. Kendra and Garrison both come from rich family. Kendra is a housewife but she hates her life and she has a high sex drive but only get sex from pencil dick once a week!

Nine years together, almost five years of marriage, ad my husband hugged me like he was burping a baby

This is my Sam :

Sam is a 2nd grade Teacher. And he is pretty much perfect.

Kendra is a real bitch to her staff. If I worked for her I would have fired myself haha! She gets a liking in one of her staff, Olivia. And in time they become good friends. Kendra hates the high society life, planning events and pretending somebody she is not but it is what was expected of her. Kendra had a very bad childhood. I seriously hate her step mom. How could you do that to somebody? You should always listen to your child if they are crying for help, doesn’t matter HOW buys you are in your life.

Kendra decides that she will be going to the beach house for 3months, as she needs to get away for sometime. She wants to go out onto her Yacht and cue in comes Sam. Sam is pretty much the perfect man and he doesn’t take shit from anybody. In his eyes it doesn’t matter how much money you have, you treat all people the same. And so he is starting to get Kendra domesticated . I like the how Kendra changed into a better person. She needed the stick removed from her ass!

Sam and Kendra make a deal and so their story begins. I don’t want to give away too much but you have to read this story! There is so much heartbreak, looking for answers and trying to move on.

Hope you will enjoy this book as much as I did!

Favourite Quotes / Lines

I didn’t have emotions. Emotions were a sign of weakness. I was far from weak.

You don’t nee to be domesticated at all. You’ve been domesticated your entire life. You need to be set free, spread your wings and fly.

We licked, sucked, fucked, and screwed n every possible way.

***Gifted an ARC in return for a honest review***

Domesticated is Jettie at her best once again! She takes characters and makes you hate them, then love them. It's a messed up story but you can't help but want more. Yea, you'll be shaking your head through some of it wondering where she came up with Kendra believe me. But you'll find out things and why she's like she is and it's heartbreaking at times. Jettie is constantly touching on subjects that most authors would stay away from and all I can do is commend her for it because it's brillant!

We get to meet Kendra right away, who is pretty much a high society, kept woman who I couldn't stand at the beginning with her I'm better than you attitude. But my opinion of her changes as we read on and get to really know her, what she's been through and why she does the things she does. I mean the things she does is what's really messed up. And it keeps happening throughout the book. I had to keep turning the pages just to see what she was going to do next. She's got issues in her life, present and from the past. I hated her family just for the record!! She's married to a man who can't give her what she needs, friends with people who are all fake and only care what society thinks of them, and a family that has caused her nothing but heartache and lies. This is not the life for Kendra and going on a little vacation soon proves this.

Then you have Sam. Can someone please find me a Sam because I really need him in my life, like right now. He's an eye opener and so down to earth that he's the perfect character once you get to meet him. Plus, he puts up with alot of craziness. I won't say anymore about him so I don't spoil anything. Go grab up this book and get ready for a wild ride!

I was one of the lucky ones to read this book early. Jettie Woodruff is an absolute brilliant and amazing writer. When reading Jettie’s books, make sure you have a bottle of wine handy because she knows how to completely mess with your head in ways you never imagined. I try not to write books with spoilers because everyone deserves to get the full experience of this book. Jettie has written some amazing books but Domesticated is by far one of the best ones yet. Where to even start with this one…. Kendra Ashby is one messed up chick but when reading this book you wonder if she was born that way or developed that way over time. Of course when you start to read you figure out everything that you need to know. Some of the things in this book made me scream, cry, laugh, cringe, and want to throw my kindle. One of the characters in this book is one of the most hated characters I have ever read about. I literally could not stand this person and wanted to bust through my kindle and knock their teeth down their throat. Kendra’s husband Garrison is a complete nerd and I didn’t not like him even a little bit. I would catch myself saying who in their right mind does stuff like this. The things Kendra went through past and present are insane and she is such a strong woman in many ways but still has her crazy in there. Then we are introduced to Sam. Sam is by far the best character in Jettie’s books. I completely fell in love with him right from the very beginning. This book with take you on one of the most emotional roller coaster rides of your life. If you are a very sensitive person then don’t read this. This book deserves no less than 5 stars!! So take caution before you read but if you don’t read you’re missing out on an amazing book. Fantastic job Jettie. I look forward to more of your amazing work and as long as you are writing I will be reading!!! GET THIS BOOK!!!!

I don't think I could ever pick up a Jettie Woodruff book and be disapointed. It's just not possible, everything she writes turns to gold and I find myself captivated by Jettie and her words, time after time and with each new release.
I love all the characters she has created and I have my personal favorites too.

Domesticated is action packed and full of twists and turns coming at you unexpectedly form every angle.
Kendra Ashby is a complicated woman who has had to deal with a hell of a lot of issues throughout her life. She is a super-rich arrogant b*tch who clicks her fingers to get what she wants when she wants. But underneath the facade she is a whole different person. Kendra has suffered an unbearable childhood and had to live through her problems alone, hiding her secrets and keeping up appearances.

On the outside looking in Kendra has the perfect life. The house's. The Cars. A very rich husband. The high class friends and the hired help to attend her every need, what more could she want.
Underneath Kendra's a dirty girl, she has secret needs and desires, which are frowned upon in her society. People of her class just didn't do those things, filthy, dirty, dark desires that are just not normal. Or is it the life that Kendra has been born and bred into all wrong?

When Kendra meets Sam, there is an undeniable physical attraction between them, Kendra approaches Sam with a rather unusual business transaction. During their time together Kendra learns to be herself, to be the woman who she really wants to be. Sam is just a normal regular guy. He has no money, no status, his just Sam. A gorgeous hot man, who says exactly whats on his mind. He doesn't care who you are or how much you're worth. With Sam what you see is what you get.
It was amazing to see the ice queen defrosting in front of me and become this beautiful young woman, falling in love and being herself for the first time.
Their story was just mesmorising to watch unfold before me.
Domesticated is definately another more than 5***** star read not to be missed.
Well done Jettie for this amazing story and creating yet more characters for me to love <3

~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads Review Team~

Kendra had a horrible childhood; she had an evil stepmother and stepsisters. Raised and trained for the life of a rich person. Kendra never felt like one of the people she was raised to be like, she wanted to be herself, but breaking free of that mold was so hard to do. I don’t want to give away any of the story but it was rough in some spot and awesome in others. I don’t think there was one emotion that wasn’t touched on in some way shape or form in this book. It was a great book; I read it in a few hours. I did think the ending was a bit rushed but it was still a great read, if you love other books by Jettie, you will love this one too.

Characters: The characters were well written and believable.

Sex: yeah and it is very HOT at times

Religious: no

Would I recommend to others: yes

More than one book in the series: no

Genre: Dark Romance

Would I read more by this author: yes

I love Jetties book. I promote her books when I can because I know she can guarantee me a great read. She certainly rocked my boat with this book. Brilliant read.

Kendra is a broken character. Throughout the book she gives us glimpses of her awful childhood. What she went through is heart breaking. Now she's a high society kept woman married to the unemotional & unloving Garrison.
Her world is turned upside down when she meets Sam. Yikes I think my life would be upside down if I met Sam lol He is the complete opposite of Kendra. Over a few weeks in summer he shows her how to smile, how to feel and how to live. What happens with her marriage?? Can Kendra forget everything that was drilled into her? Can she find her happy ever after?

This is a fantastic story that had me captivated. I loved the unique storyline. I must mention Kendra is the queen of masturbation so if you don't like that kinda read you might wanna skip this book. If like me it doesn't bother you then get 1-clicking this story. You won't regret it.

What a PLEASURE-FULL book! (Pun completely intended!)

No joke, this book will have you extremely turned on instantly! Domesticated starts by telling the story of Kendra who is anything BUT domesticated. Portrayed as a snobby, privileged, heartless bitch, Kendra doesn’t mask her feelings for those beneath her. Her marriage is awful. Her existence is awful and you can’t help but to feel no remorse. Kendra’s personality and the company she keeps is just vile. Everything charitable she does is for appearances and social acceptance/status only. NEVER by the goodness in her heart. Yep, she's another Kardashian! The world needs more of them…NOT! Kendra, unlike said Kardashian’s, has a horrific past and many redeeming qualities that make her tolerable. She is one you’ll love to hate until her secrets are revealed and understood.

Being a fan of Jettie’s Underestimated and Underestimated Too, I had high expectations for Domesticated and was not disappointed. Give me a fulfilling story where the main character takes their time to work their way into my heart and I’m sold. The more damaged and raw the better and this chick is as f*cked up as they come! At times Domesticated read like a maturation manual. It’s for certain Kendra has no issues with getting herself off anytime anywhere. This made the story provocative and I loved it but after awhile it became excessive and I actually skimmed through some of the nub rubbing scenes. Sex aside, the foundation of the story was edgy and captivating. Had my heart racing, breaking, and pounding out of my chest. GREAT BOOK!

I was beyond excited to receive a copy from author for an honest review!!!!

Kendra is a rich young women who had the most horrible childhood ever growing up. Living with her father, stepmother, and step sisters she was made to believe she was nothing and will never be.

Now Kendra is married to Garrison a wealthy man who gives her everything but what you believe on the outside isn't always the way it is on the inside. Deciding to get away she goes on vacation for the summer and that's where she meets Sam.

Sam is a school teacher who isn't rich but his life is full of love and fun. Making a deal with Sam changes everything she has ever known he slowly breaks down her walls and you finally get to see the real Kendra.

This book hit every emotion I could possibly have, I swear there wasn't a time that I wasn't laughing, or crying, screaming or disgusted and wanting the throw my kindle.

Jettie is an amazing author I can never get enough of her books I swear her writing makes you have a love/hate relationship with her characters. She definitely knows how to keep you begging for more!

Gifted a copy for an honest review . Every time Jettie writes I find myself jumping up for joy . IN this book you have Kendra rich snobby bitch who has a deep dark past of horrible things that have happen to her. Married to the rich husband because that is what she was brought up to do. Until she meets Sam the school teacher .

Parts of this book had me so pissed off that i could have thrown my kindle across the room . Others had me wanting to pull Kendra close and hug her and tell her everything would be fine. Where Jettie takes these characters and the story the unfolds in amazing . Once you start it you won't stop until the very last page and even then if you're like me You'll still need more.

Everything you could ask for is in this book hot dirty sex , suspense , sad moments
Once again Jettie Woodruff has a hit on her hands.

Another must-read from Jettie Woodruff!

I loved this book! Kendra overcame a rough childhood, and it made her who she was, someone who loved sex. She suffered through a loveless marriage the best way she could. She survived, the only way she knew how, by pleasing herself. This
was a fantastic book, that I definitely recommend.

To cause to feel comfortable at home; make domestic.
To adopt or make fit for domestic use or life.
To bring down to the level of the ordinary person.
In one way or another, each definition applies to Kendra, the main character in Jettie Woodruff’s newest release, Domesticated. On the surface, Kendra doesn’t seem to embody any meaning of the term, but as her façade is stripped away, and society’s expectations are no longer a cross to bear, readers and Kendra herself will soon realize that through her horrid upbringing, her stepford wife lifestyle, and her cold hearted bitch role, she epitomizes that term and can only be freed from it by acknowledging her past and what was taken away from her due to falling prey to what her class dictated.

Definition 1:

For many years, Kendra was comfortable in her lifestyle. Spending money, gossiping with stuck up friends, and allowing her husband to control everything was the norm for her, and she embraced it because she was groomed to do so.

Definition 2:

Her step mother and her class’ expectations confined her and molded her into the stone cold woman Kendra is at the beginning of the story. She fits in with her elitist friends because she knows how to play the part, control her emotions, and hide behind her stuck up personality.

Definition 3:

This explanation is illustrated after Kendra escapes her society’s grasp and heads to Malibu on her own where she’s allowed to make her own decisions and hold some of the power that has always been wielded against her. But in the truest sense of the word, Sam is the one who brings this definition to fruition. He’s the one who calls Kendra out on her frigidness and her uppity bitch attitude. She can truly be herself with him; the ice cold persona doesn’t work around Sam and she starts to thaw when she’s around him, which is both a good and bad thing.

Out of all of the definitions, Kendra desperately wants to choose #3, but it’s not that easy to separate herself from the only world she’s ever known. Despite the adulterous choices she makes, though, she likes the version of herself she can be with Sam and realizes that the proper and pristine idea is only an illusion – one that she refuses to buy into anymore. But how she breaks free from those expectations and the painful memories of her past is easier said than done, but if one thing is clear about Kendra throughout the entire text, she’ll fight like hell to get what she wants when it comes down to it.

Domesticated is an intense emotional journey for Kendra as well as readers. Kendra truly is a product of her environment and the abysmal acts that were committed against her. Reliving her past and witnessing her transformation with Sam’s help truly illustrates how fragile the human psyche can be when one is driven into darkness.

Jettie Woodruff is a gifted storyteller because she forces readers to become emotionally invested with her characters by how she develops them and what they have to endure. Woodruff takes readers beyond the surface and helps us to examine the reasons behind the choices her characters make, and even if we don’t agree with them, we still understand why they were made. The way everything played out in the storyline had be captivated until the very last page because I wanted to see how Kendra’s story ended; I wanted to know if she could rewrite her future and become the woman she should have been. Domesticated is definitely a mind fuck of a journey, but it’s one that I would take again and again because the writing is that good.

Domesticated. Jettie Woodruff. 4.5 stars

Another blow away book from Jettie. I hadn't heard anything about this book. It hasn't been well publicised at all, so when I received a copy and there was not even a synopsis on Goodreads so I had absolutely no idea what this book was about or if it was just a rush job to fill in between books. I have to say though that this is one of Jetties best books she has wrote. Barring in mind she has wrote some outstanding books, her books just keep getting better and better. You always know your going to get your money's worth and a outstanding story.
Reading the book, made me understand why there is not much around about it at present. It's a book that you do not want to be ruined by spoilers or even teasers. This is one of those books that you need to go in blind, and experience everything along the way without having any idea what is around the corner.
I will not be telling you what this book is about or be giving you any spoilers at all in my review.
All I will tell you though is this book will mess with your head. Jettie has a way of making you have strong feelings for the characters she writes about, either she will make you love them or she wil make you hate them. Jettie makes you really believe in the characters and their story behind them. Kendra was the main character and she is a very strong character , sometimes I felt sorry for her, sometimes I wanted to tell her everything would be ok and that she never deserved a life like that and sometimes I just wanted to give her a hug. She has been to hell and back in her past and present and doesn't deserve anything that happens to her at all.
As the story unfolds you find out everything you need to about Jendra and her life. This is a dark start. It isn't sunshine and roses. It's gritty, full of suspense aswel as twists and turns around every corner. The story will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions from start to finish.
The book had my emotions going all over the place, mostly because of Kendal.
There are other characters in the book. One is Kendals Husband. I absolutely hated and can't even begin to tell you how much I hated him. Then there's Sam. who is the loveliest character you could wish for in a book.
This book is amazing. But remember to go in to the story with the knowledge that this is a dark read. I havnt gave anything away in my review to show its a dark read, it's not a BadBoy read, it's a dark read, so be prepared for that when you start the book.
If you love Jetties books then this is another that you will absolutely love.
If you're new to Jetties books then, go and buy one, anyone. As there all as good as each other.
Great book again. Looking forward to Jetties next book hopefully soon.

Once again Jettie Woodruff does not disappoint....she has a very unique writing style that is simply genius. It's different but in a scratch your head and think "what the heck did I just read" kinda way that has you begging for more. Literally, I was begging for chapter after chapter. She always has those characters that you love to hate...you know the ones that make you want to throw your ereader across the room.
Ok so now onto this book...as always if you have read my reviews before you know I don't do spoilers especially when the book isn't even truly released yet. This one will be no different!!!
The main character Kendra will remind you of a stepford housewife...rich and fake. Yet as you dig deeper and get to know the real Kendra, you realize why she hides her crazy behind that rich girl act. Deep down she was just that same scared, lonely little girl that needed love and affection that she couldn't find anywhere. Not even with her joke of a fake husband....boy will that one ever rock your world when you read it. OMG !!! Thank goodness that sweet, sexy Sam came along....(sigh we all need a Sam in our lives). I lived the scenes with Sam as if I were right there with them watching in jealousy. If you want hot, steamy sex then this one is for you...no joke I was sending scenes to my husband while he was at work and I paid dearly when he came home :)
All kidding aside...get this book!!! It touches on so many different emotions and I am sure there will be plenty of people that feel a connection to Kendra in some way. It's a very realistic reminder that the truth will always come out and that money can't buy you happiness. One can only find that when they live their life for themselves an NO ONE else.

HOLY AMAZEBALLZ!! Jettie really out did herself with this one. The first book by Jettie was Shhh..Mack's side and I loved it but this book just blew that right out of the water for me. I found it to be extremely well done. TO talk about such a sensitive and sick topic with Kendra being a 4 year old girl being abused by her stepmother to becoming an adult to rise above and beyond all evil. I find that if Jettie would have done anything different to this book or made the ending a little different it could have dragged the book out or even it could have just changed the whole meaning of the story. I found Kendra to be really strong even though she was addicted to sex lol and all she had went through as a child and how she had to live her life the way THEY WANTED HER TO LIVE IT. To see Kendra's mother get what she deserves was awesome and to see the stepmother get hers was the best. Made me laugh and cheer GO KENDRA!!! I like how Jettie took Olivia's personal assistant to Kendra to a whole new level with them being friends and Olivia there to support her in any way she could. I also loved Sam. He really helped Kendra face her past and talk about it. I love how he showed her what life, love and happiness really is. Kendra never knew what love was it took her to meet Sam and them to have a "CONTRACT" for her to find out what it was all about. This is to me in my eyes beyond a five star review especially touching on a topic that is so sad and sickening that someone could harm a child that way to make a person find what love and life is all about and rise above all the hurt they had.

*I received a free copy to read & review for Wicked Reads Review Team*

This was a unique story, with unique characters (thank god!), and it was enjoyable!
At first I didn't know how to take Kendra, a girl born to privilege and raised to continue the thoroughbred of her heritage. Following in the foot-steps that her family pushed her to, she realizes she's miserable: she hates her "friends", she hates her "duties", and she's not exactly happy with her marriage. Thankfully, she has planned a vacation at their beach home, for the summer.

Upon meeting ONE person, outside of her "regular" clique, and her world is flipped turned upside down. NOT romantically, she propositions him to act out all of her wild fantasies (and hot, they are!).
Is there more to life then money? Are emotions to be trusted?

Honestly, I loved Sam right from the get go. Kendra, on the other hand, I just didn't understand- although by the end of the book I empathized with her.

This is a completely different kind of story, and it stuck with me for a few days. I'm not really sure how I'd classify it: It IS erotica, with a romantic tone, but it's really so much more then that.

"I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads."

I have read a number of Ms Woodruff's books, so had very high expectations. I was not disappointed by the storyline - it was deeply disturbing, complex, sensual, erotic, and sometimes sweet. It dealt with some terrible issues, and was uncomfortable reading at times, but so worthwhile. I like a book that really makes me think about the intended, and unintended consequences of actions. Sam was undoubtedly gorgeous, and Kendra was a fascinating mess! It was easy to envision how the plot could play out, yet we were kept guessing by some interesting twists. I look forward to the next offering from this talented storyteller.

*******I was given an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review for my blog******

I have been waiting to read this book ever since I first heard about it over a month ago. I can proudly say that I was not disappointed with it in the least!

Kendra is a snobby, rich b!tch who isn't afraid to tell people what she thinks. And she's also not afraid to proposition the sexy captain of her yacht for a summer of pleasure and pain behind her husband's back (there's actually Avery interesting story with Kendra and her husband, Garrison, and their marriage of convenience.)

Throughout the entire book, we get glimpses of Kendra's past, a past that will leave you in a rage over what was done to her as a little girl. As with all Jettie Woodruff books, you get the dark and twisted that will leave you pissed and breathless all in one.

This was definitely one of my absolute favorite books I've read this year alone and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get lost in a good book.

5 out of 5 Devastatingly Dark, WTF, OMG, Heart Palpating Stars!

"You don't need to be domesticated at all. You've been domesticated your entire life. You need to be set free, spread your wings and fly."

I am starting to feel like a broken record, because I just can't get enough of the dark seductress that is Jettie Woodruff. She always finds a way to make me love what I should hate, and shove me in that, oh so tempting darkness. This tale is a harsh one indeed, but it was worth every heart clenching word read. My libido was sent flying of the charts and at the same time I was unequivocally emotionally gutted, which together, left me an utter hot arse mess. Such a typical emotional recipe while reading one of Jettie's books. Kendra was such an amazing and strong bitchy ass character. I effin' loved her. If you read this book, most of you will think that maybe I am the one with issues here, because it is just way too easy to hate her pompous uptight self. You have to dig deep....way deep...to find the gooey center that is Kendra's soft side. She is the way she is due to a devastatingly effed up child hood, and some shitty distorted conditioning to be nothing but subordinate arm candy.

"I had to stay true to myself. I vowed long ago never to long for affection, love, or admiration from anyone. It was a safer place to be. Stone cold was much easier than a false reality."

Kendra was living the high society life, with lots of money, a nice house, an appropriately successful husband that all lived up to the status quo she was supposed to maintain. From the outside she had it all, but Kendra hated it with a passion. She had some dark desires that were never sated, and a constant compulsion to satisfy her dark hunger herself...multiple time as day. That girl was a horn dog that could get in the mood from even the smallest things. At first I was like, "WTF girl, keep your hand out of your pants, you are gonna give yourself arthritis if you keep that up!" That quickly turned into, "Damn, is it getting hot in her?" Kendra always kept her true naughty desires to herself, because she was programmed to believe that they were wrong and dirty. Her life felt so desolate and lonely, trapped in a facade that was seemingly inescapable. That is until her life got flipped upside down after a few interesting encounters with the man hired to drive her boat for the summer. *Cue overly sarcastic voice* Kendra fraternizing with...perhaps even attracted to the "help"...no way??!

"I was joking. Get that stick out of your ass and let me domesticate you."

Sam was the only one who put her in her place, not putting up with her uptight shit. She began to loosen up around him, which made her drop her unemotional mask and feel things she didn't necessarily want to feel. The bossy bitch in her always seemed to resurface when these pesky emotions started to show. It seemed like that was just the way she was wired to be, but it was mainly because those rights were crudely stripped from her from an early age. Her childhood was so incredibly horrible, but it also fueled some of her forbidden fantasies. Sam tried to crack her shield in order to see the real Kendra within. It was a tough task to accomplish though. They were both treading on shaky waters (nautical pun intended). Kendra wanted un uncomplicated Dom to sate all her naughty wishes, but Sam was just not that kind of guy.

"Jesus, Sam. Why does it matter? Your dick was so fucking hard you were ready to explode after leaving your hand print across my ass. Don't tell me you didn't enjoy it too."

Got to love Kendra's unfiltered sassy mouth. Even though Sam proved to be a horrible Dom, she couldn't help the draw she had to him. She knew that he was starting to feel things for her, and despite all her denial, she was too. Kendra was still married, he was due back home at the end of the summer, and a lot of other reckless things happened to make their situation even messier than they ever thought. How could they possibly ever have a happy ending when one person always had only one foot in? If Kendra decided to go all in, would Sam be able to catch her when all things were revealed? Will her past continue to hold her poisoner from ever having that HEA?

"I knew with everything in me Sam was mine for the taking. The only question was my own reservations. Could Sam handle me, and could I handle him? Maybe giving in didn't mean I was weak, maybe it meant I deserved it."

Okay, I promise I am wrapping it up now. I went a little long with this one, but I couldn't help it. Once I started writing the review, I couldn't stop typing. This book had all my fav things--captivating and refreshing storyline, strong female character that I couldn't help love despite the laundry list of reason why I shouldn't, a swoon worthy male lead who ran rampant with my heart and my knickers, and enough emotional turmoil to leave me shaking my fists high to the book heavens. Jettie really knows how to pull all the right strings, and I will always be her willing puppet. I can't wait to see what else she has up her deliciously enticing sleeve. I would definitely, absolutely, highly recommend this book to my fellow book junkies out there. Oh, and if you haven't read any other books by Jettie Woodruff, go get your read on peeps! You are missing out on some seriously effed up, magnificently maddening, amazingly addicting stories. ;)

My edition: Kindle

Pages: 384

Series: Stand-alone

Rating:2 stars

Review: Stopping at 34%. Spoilers and a rant review ahead. The things I say in this review may or may not hurt your feelings but just so you know it is my opinion and I'm not sorry if you don't like it. You have been warned.

When I read the blurb of this I thought this sounds like an interesting read. I am just starting to read Dark novels so I'm not too experienced with them. This one sounded good enough that I would give it a shot.

At the beginning of this book I seriously did not like the heroine. She was a girl who grew up in money and had a horrible step mother who use to be her nanny. With the kind of upbringing she had, a stepmother who hated her and her half younger sisters having control over her that should have taught her that she shouldn't treat other people like the way she was treated right? Wrong. She is just a big hypocrite. She sits with all of the higher class women and acts the part but puts them down in her head. She hates having to hang out with them and doing charity events. (if you could call it charity. Reason I say that is they put money into their schools and help out their kind of people than actually helping out a real charity.) Not only does she not like hanging out with her "class" but she doesn't like anyone she feels is beneath her (anyone who didn't come from money or are "poor"). I really don't like people like this. Ignorant and rude and think that they own the whole damn world because they are "privileged". Hate to burst your bubble but you'll end up in the same six foot hole that I'll be buried in too.

The heroine could not stop thinking about sex. Her husband would only have sex with her once a week and she had to lay still. She couldn't get excited like normal people do because then that would make her dirty. Yeah I know stupid. He couldn't even say hard on, he called it a willy. She is also not allowed to see him naked. Her own husband and she has only seen him naked once and that was walking in on him getting out of the shower. Like what the hell?!

This chick is messed up, due to her stepmother being cruel and her husband being a non any fun or enjoyable sex kind of person while she is a nympho. I would be messed up too. But I would have stood up to them and gotten away when I had the first chance, not stay and be married to someone with no feelings and dream of having better. I mean she is with the guy for nine years and he doesn't even bother to really get to know her.

For some reason the heroine thinks she has Paraphilias Disorder. She was never diagnosed and she thinks she has it due to reading a pamphlet. I think she is just horny and needs a man to give it to her just to shut her the hell up. To me there is nothing wrong with her but having a shitty childhood and a horribly boring marriage with a man who doesn't even bother with satisfying her needs. He also puts her down for being like any normal kind of woman.

Then she decides while at her summer get away she is going to pay Sam who is her yacht driver to sleep with her. She wants him to dominate her and call her sewer rat which is what her stepmother and half sisters called her. Really? Really?

I saw a bunch of 4-5 star reviews on this but I guess I'm the odd one out. I wasn't in the slightest bit entertained by this book. Man reason I'm stopping is that I'm getting pissed off just reading it. I just couldn't handle it anymore. I'm not going to let this ruin my day. I hate to DNF but right now that is the best thing for me to do. Maybe I will pick this up some day and read it again and see it a different way but for now I'm returning it back to Amazon to get another book.

I tried I promise I did but seriously I can't deal with this kind of bull hockey. Review to come.

4 STARS!

WHAT A TWISTY TREAT OF MASTURBATION!!

This only my second book by Jettie, the first being Underestimated. With that being said I was hoping for dark & edgy. This one not being as dark but totally edgy. This was a wild ride filled with steamy scenes that will melt your panties and secrets of past that will make you gasp.

Kendra. Let's just say she's a complete train wreck. Made of money and not really relatable at first. Her proper stuck up facade hiding her damaged past. As the story unfolds you find out her life is one of lonely nights and fake relationships, and her past is like that a dark and sadistic Cinderella, step mother from HELL! Some of the things Kendra did were so unbelievable I couldn't wrap my head around it, I'm thinking this chick is off her rocker. It only made want to read faster, I wanted to know what the heck was going to happen! When Kendra meets Sam, her world is turned upside down, and everything she was taught thrown out the window. I loved Sam from the get go, hilarious, outspoken, and endearing. I have to warn you there is cheating, it didn't bother me one bit given the circumstances, I'm almost positive you will agree. Anyway the twists and turns were mind boggling, you may get a little agitated waiting for the HEA but believe me it's worth the ride!

I have to give Jettie Woodruff props for being original. This one was completely unique! If you're going to write a Twisted Tale, you might as well go all out. What I like about Jettie's writing is the complete-ness, nothing was left to ponder and the story was wrapped up fully without questions lingering. I'm also wondering if her other stories are just as Twisted!!

Dark lovers beware!!!! This is not dark romance or dark erotica!!! It is strange, bizarre and entertaining but NOT dark.

The synopsis makes this sound like a dark erotica so at first I was very frustrated. Once I accepted the fact that this was not in the genre I was expecting, I was able to focus on and enjoy this very odd, bizarre, entertaining story. I've never read about a character like Kendra - ever! This woman is one messed up bitch; I loved her! Basically, the book starts out with her pretending to be a Stepford wife whenever she's around others (even her conservative, straight-laced husband of 5+4 years) yet anytime she's alone, she's downloading porn: BDSM, f/f etc. She's actually a victim of some extremely traumatizing child abuse which manifests in many ways. Her husband won't even touch her tits, telling her that is dirty so she is constantly playing with herself throughout the day, even in places she shouldn't be (especially in places she shouldn't be). Money can buy this rich woman anything so why not ask the hottie working for her to fulfill some of her fantasies? When she steps into this new world, expecting to have all of her fantasies fulfilled, she is exposed to things she never expected to enjoy (and I'm not talking about sexual positions). She discovers that she craved and desires things she never thought she would ever care for. Along her journey, she continues to be absolutely shocking! Honestly, the female main character is just so freaking weird – it's crazy! This character is also remarkably unique. DOMESTICATED is strange, smutty, bizarre, crazy, hot and very, very entertaining!

ARC provided by author for an honest review.

I've read only one other book by Jettie Woodruff prior to this. It was All For Maddie, which I really loved. Domesticated is on a whole other playing field. So many emotions going on here. This book leaves you feeling all kinds of feels. I felt hot at times, horrified and pissed at others. In other words, it's a complete MIND FUCK in which I absolutely LOVED.

Kendra has grown up in a life of wealth and privilege. She has been shaped and molded to be the wife and woman her high society expects. Things aren't always what they seem. Underneath it all, though, she isn't happy. She despises the people around her and dreads the charity functions and other events she is expected to participate in. Her escape finally comes when she takes her Summer vacation away from it all, well almost all of it. She meets Sam, who is beneath her, but can fulfill some of the needs she has been denied.

I really loved this book. The characters were well written and believable. I loved Sam from the get go. I loved how he stood up for himself right away with Kendra's hoity toity attitude. He told it like it was. Not to mention, he was an all around good guy who was easy to like. Kendra had to grow on you and as the story unfolds, you get to see more and more of what has made her the woman she is. Wonderfully, and deliciously twisted. Great job! 5 well earned stars from me!

I was gifted this book for a fair and honest review. I typically don't read "dark" books but this one was different. Domesticated had a little bit of dark and light. I have to admit there were a few parts of the book that were hard for me to get through, but I'm glad I kept reading. The main character, Kendra is pretty messed up. What you see on the outside is completely different from what is really on the inside. My heart broke for her. All through her childhood she was ignored, no one would listen to her and she had to live the way the rich people saw fit. She always knew she was different, but couldn't do anything about it. She was conditioned to act a certain way. When she grew up and went off to college, she meets Garrison. Eventually, they get married. But again she was living the life she was conditioned for! Until she meets Sam. A life with Sam would be easy and she could be the person she wants to be. They become really good friends, unlike any friendship she has ever had. Soon, the friendship becomes more. I loved Kendra, I really felt for her! I highly recommend reading this book, especially if you tend to like darker books. Just know that Domesticated is a little bit of both, so don't be afraid to try it! One-click today and find out what happens to Kendra, will she live happily ever after with Sam???
