This has been on my bookshelf for decades. I pull it down every couple of years for a re-read. An amazing world setting - futuristic and detailed. Politics, space travel, different worlds, a race of psions, and a half-breed named Cat that gets sucked into all. An underdog to hero storyline unlike any other I have read.
It's been many years since I read this book. I remember enjoying it emensely. The main reson I finally wrote this review is something I read reminded me of this series and normaly I can never remember the name. With this here I have the name and author to recommend to others.
A young man in space joins a psychic team of heros. He battles an enemy then learns he has alien DNA to boost his powers. There in these Victorian houses. Then he takes acid and is at a rave. He battles the bad guy who is conservative and wins. He saves earth from alien invaders.
A well written look at what happens when humanity finds an alien race we are physically compatible with and intermingles. With many social issues and adventure, this story has wonderful pacing and great character development.
