Rate this book
Meet Ms. Mia, the modern-day Miss Marple with a humorous twist, solving murder mysteries in glamorous resorts.

A luxurious private island paradise, with palm trees and white sand beaches, sets the stage for this classic cozy mystery.

Ms Mia, a vibrant woman of a certain age, savors all life's experiences—savors all life's experiences, cheerfully rearranging hotels and lives to her satisfaction. At Spinel Resorts, a luxurious chain of boutique hotels founded by her late husband, sinister secrets hide in exotic paradises.

Arriving at the Grand Island Hotel, Ms. Mia immediately spots trouble. A second honeymoon bitterly unraveling, a woman fleeing grief, a writer wallowing in extremely public scenes, and a wife who seems, ahem, very intimate with her tennis pro. When murder strikes her luxury resort, Ms. Mia discovers her talent as an amateur sleuth, diving into the investigation with charm, wit—and a glass of champagne. No one gets away with murder at her island paradise!

This cozy whodunit is perfect for fans of Agatha Raisin, Meg Langslow, and Death in Paradise.

A fun new series

Ms. Mia is a fun character -- A very quick and sharp Miss Marple. The characters are well-developed and the plot is cleverly complex. This is a great introduction to what promises to be a fun and interesting series.

Soap opera meets who-dunnit? Barbara Cartland channels Agatha Christie? Dynasty invites Miss Marple to stay? (You get the drift) I've never encountered a combo romance/murder mystery before. I have to give kudos for creativity. This is never going to win any literary prizes but I have to admit-rather shamedly-to having a guilty pleasure in the fun. I'll keep reading this series to see where it takes me.

I received this book as a gift. It is wonderful! I enjoyed it so much that I didn’t put it down after I started it. I actually stayed awake reading almost all night long. In most mysteries, it is easy to figure out who “dun” it, but I didn’t know who did it until the author told me. That’s my kind of mystery.
I received this book as an advance copy gift. My opinions are my own.
