This sequel to the classic gay pulp Song of the Loon (1966) is not nearly as good as its predecessor. Surprised? There are way too many hairy chests, in fact there's thick hair everywhere, all over every character, ugh, except for one cute queeny boy, who dies anyway: why are they always sacrificed? Overall, a fun erotic gay western, good enough for a hour or two of your time.
This is second book of the Loon Trilogy but it mostly lacks the native American mystical quality that made the first book so special. This is mostly a cowboy western saga with a lot of soft core porno sex which is fun to read but grows unimaginative and tiresome. There is a tepid romance at the center with a love affair between two Malboro men..
