Jessica Bay’s life is full – of chaos. As an inner-city GP, mother to two moody teenagers, and wife to a man who can recall the last time they had sex (632 days ago) but can’t remember to take out the bins, Jessica is at her limit.

In need of a change of pace, she and her family move to a tiny island in the English Channel. On one of her after-work walks, Jessica sits on a bench. No big deal, surely? But she soon discovers that this bench gives her the ability to relive any day in her past.

After making small adjustments here and there, Jessica realises that she might have to go back to that time, the most painful of her life. Because this might be her last chance to find closure for what happened back then…

Not the usual story of family life. There is a great twist to this one. The main character Jess is very well observed and her challenges will be recognised by many. As she contemplates her struggles with her family the plot allows all of us to stop and consider how we got to today and what, given the chance, we might want to undo or redo.

I read the book in a couple of days as it was engaging and easy going. A delightful and thought provoking read.

LOVED the concept, the characters, the narrator, the setting, the storyline the writing!! Laughed aloud and got teary-eyed a few times. A few things I wish had been done differently, but it was really great!

Fantástico.
Me ha hecho reír a carcajadas y llorar de la emoción. Te engancha desde la primera página con su forma de escribir, y eso que a mí me cuesta leer en inglés porque no es mi lengua nativa.
Súper recomendado.

Such a thought provoking take on how we live our lives and how the smallest of changes to our mindsets and actions can affect it and everyone within it.
