I’m an island girl through and through; a lover of warm weather, clear skies, and beaches. Though I was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, I spent most of my childhood in Nassau, Bahamas where my sixth-grade teacher helped me to discover my hidden passion for stringing words together on a blank page. Regardless of the challenges and hardships I have faced in life, I have never stopped telling my story through the characters I cultivate in my head. I believe my writing has purpose and meaning and I hope to use my truth and learned experiences to give hope and share love with the world around me. When I’m not crafting another story, I’m working full-time as a registered nurse.

I thought the author did a wonderful job on this book. The main character, Peter, had to learn to find himself and to believe in himself, by making a couple of hard decisions. Glad he was able to keep going and keep his love alive for Ella without losing himself as a person.

A small, cute story… I have understood that before writing some stories one has to live those stories oneself. I just know that in this series Ella would have run away from home for her freedom, but she wanted to live with her love. Peter's love might have been a little more in the beginning but at the end of the story it is equal. So, the thing is that both of them were just friends of each other, Peter wanted a lot, and Ella only considered him her friend. For Peter, living with Ella was just as it would be for a loving person, although Ella also loved him but not like Peter.

Ella did not want to live with her parents, so she lived with Peter in his small house, but Ella's mother did not like this at all, so she told Peter not to live with Ella and then what was to happen, Peter and Ella got separated.

Peter had received a very good offer from the King, he was made the advisor of the Princess, to know what would happen next, he must read the novel. Because Peter had never thought that his life would take such a turn and neither did, he ever want this.

Lovely, fun story! After the first few pages, I realized that this story was unique and I needed to read the first one in the series. So I paused my reading and bought the first one. Really glad I did! Well worth it! The story continues here, focusing on Peter. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. I love the way the author combines the Regency. With the flare of island life. So unusual! Well, not quite as wonderfully magical and amazing as the first one in the series, this story is lovely and uplifting, giving us hints on how to deal with adversity in our own lives. I recommend it!

This was a really cute middle grade book. I kind of didn’t like the ending, but it was still a good story and it had a really good lesson about dealing with insecurities!

Super cute short story of Peter, a teenager who thought he wasnt enough. A quick read for a pre-teen age group. Engaging enough that your child will likely finish the book in a couple of days.
