I really enjoyed this book. In some ways I really identified with Harriet I became very invested in her journey. I was so happy when she started to have the interest Of a man But something in me knew something wasn't right about how quickly it all moved. And I have to say I was horrified and very taken aback when he became so belligerent to her and mean. I was glad she had Amelia there until their I was glad she had Amelia there until their small falling out. I could understand her primal scream and digging into her garden after she escaped from her father. I actually thought the garden had taken her father when he left that new year's eve. I rejoiced with her as she was reunited with Eunice And had the tender feelings with Greenwood. I was wondering how she and him were gonna end up together as I wished And was very happy that that happened. I just loved how she learned to appreciate her gift and embrace it especially after Eunice told her it was okay and she accepted it.
I enjoyed the ending. As brave and strong as the female lead is, it’s hard to feel that way for most of the book. But it’s nonetheless true. There were definite twists that I didn’t expect. The author keeps us guessing for most of the book, is she crazy? Is she not?
