Rate this book
A gripping, character-driven Irish mystery where secrets refuse to stay buried.

Private investigators Clementine Moriarty and Mason Hughes have faced the unexpected in Half Moon Bay, but nothing prepares them for the return of a washed-up celebrity judge to host the infamous Battle of the Bands. Rivalries long buried resurface, old grudges fester, and a missing dog is only the first of many signals that danger is closer than anyone suspects.

As the competition intensifies, Clem must navigate high stakes both personal and juggling her ADHD diagnosis, her complicated relationship with Mason, and the hidden truths of the village itself. Meanwhile, Mason faces a long-buried mystery that may finally reveal the killer of his parents.

Through carefully hidden clues, complex character dynamics, and a web of secrets spanning decades, Half Moon Bay proves that even the most picturesque village holds shadows beneath its charming surface.

For readers who enjoy emotionally rich mysteries, clever puzzles, Irish village settings, and characters whose lives and hearts are as real as the secrets they uncover, Death Note delivers suspense, intrigue, and the satisfaction of a story that’s as thoughtful as it is twist-filled.

Clem and Mason are investigating Mason's parents' cold case while Mason is preparing for the local Battle of the Bands. One of the judges is less than kind and has a questionable past. When a body is found during the contest, Clem and Mason try to line up the clues and alibis as the twists keep turning. An entertaining cozy with lots of heart and soul. It can be enjoyed as a standalone.
