Silas faces the most challenging case of his career at Discreet Corporate Security Services. He has seven days to rescue five oil workers kidnapped in a remote area of Saudi Arabia.
Using his expertise as a former intelligence operative, Silas quickly brings together a highly skilled rescue team of four men and one woman—each with a complicated past—who are forced to confront their past as they embark on a high-risk mission that threatens their future.
A risky rescue . . . As Silas makes plans to rescue the hostages, he discovers they must infiltrate a heavily guarded compound, navigate a maze of desert terrain, and execute a mission where a single mistake could get them captured or killed.
A painful past . . . After Silas encourages a team member to confront a festering wound from his past, things suddenly get personal when he’s brought face-to-face with a former colleague from DIA, an encounter that makes him question his judgment as well as his emotions.
A deadly decision . . . When the team finally locates the hostages, an unexpected situation arises, and a quick decision has to be made, a decision with deadly consequences.
As the danger escalates, Silas turns to someone who has betrayed him in the past, but who now holds the future of the mission in her hands. Can he trust her?
More importantly, can he trust God to handle the situation?

Middle East Hostage Rescue This book is the fifth in a series that is best enjoyed when read in order. In this episode, Silas is tasked with rescuing a group of American oil surveyors who have been taken hostage in Saudi Arabia. The story is clean with no foul language, gore, violence, or intimacy. The story moves very quickly and I didn't want to put it down. I wish that I could read the next book in the series right now, but it has not yet been published.
Book 5 finished off this series very satisfactorily! There is room for this series to continue, and I would definitely buy the books if that happens. This last book was a but more complex to me due to the subject matter. I felt like I had to read a little slower to absorb all the details, which were handled very well. So, I am off to try another series by this author. Come along with me!
I have enjoyed every one of Luanda Heroic' s books and this was no exception. There is plenty of action, but no foul language, no sex scenes and this is an important issue for me. The only thing that I didn't like is that I was easily able to finish it in one day and I will have to wait awhile until a new book comes out!
I was sad to finish this book. It was another great read by Ehrlich. The story was exciting and engaging. The characters are fleshed out and relatable. And you have a great mix of really likable people, and a few not so much. Looking forward to Silas' next adventure!
Exciting! This will have you on the edge of your seat as Silas builds his team and prepares to go into Saudi Arabia to rescue five Americans who were kidnapped. The actual rescue occurs and you will be holding your breath thinking it went so well, until… Just read and see what happens. So good.
Silas is challenged with this mission to rescue 5 Americans. The team members he choices challenge him also. Are these people the right ones to do the job. Each has an issue that can make or break the rescue. Silas turns to God for wisdom. I was given a copy of the audible version of the book. I enjoyed hearing the voice of Tom Lennon again. He is so easy to listen to.
4/5 STARS! I really love Luana Ehrlich books. She manages to write Christian Fiction that isn't pushy or corny. This is book 5 but can be read as standalone. I enjoyed the plot, the characters are interesting, & this is a fast paced adventure. I definitely will be checking out the rest of the series. The audiobook is a fun time with good narration. Thank you to the author for the free copy.
I really enjoyed this story, I listened to the audio book and the narrator really brought the story to life. I really enjoyed the character of Silas McKay, the other characters are really so good in this story as well. I hate to have to wait for the nect story to come out, but this author always writes an excellent story, so it will be worth the wait!
Silas McKay takes on the cloak of Ehrlich's Titus Ray in this book - rescuing kidnapped Americans in the Middle East! The story kept up my interest and the characters are great. I look forward to the next one!
I really appreciate how the author effortlessly brings her faith into her books. This latest Silas McKay book was no exception. I am really sad I have to wait until 2026 for the next book in the series.
I love Luanda books. She has a great writing style that doesn't get bogged down in needless drivel. But she develops each character with the back stories bout them. I think you will love this book.
I really the character, Silas McKay. This book was interesting and very entertaining but I have mixed feelings about the ending. I look forward to where this series is heading next.
