An interesting concept on how to learn a language - the "do x amount per day" method doesn't seem to work well for me so I am going to give this a go and see if I can actually start to remember some Welsh!
The book was quite short. I liked the ideas but haven't tried to implement them, so I don't know how good they really are. My main complaint about the book was that there was no information about how to implement the ideas. It seemed more like the book was created to advertise the author's website.
While Jones's system may work, I don't know, this book is effectively just an extended advert for his proprietary content. It doesn't really have any useful application for language learning in general. HILT is not explained in such a way as to allow the reader to create it themselves. I borrowed this book on Kindle. I'd have been annoyed if I'd payed for it.
I have been studying different languages and systems of learning for about 15 years now. This book is a refreshing and novel take on language learning echoing similar ideas I had myself. Definitely worth your time. I love the fact the book is short and gets to the point almost straight away.
I am working on learning Russia.. I’m interested in learning more languages. I don’t learn very well with small incremental daily efforts. This method allows for longer sessions less often. I’m going to incorporate several ideas from this book to my language learning.
I like the concept this book introduces. Now I need to find some resources to test this theory on languages that his website doesn’t cover. I also like his writing style.
