I have been attempting to improve my gardening skills for the last 10 years with varying levels of success. Being an Oregon resident, I was hopeful that this book could help. I am not disappointed. The book covers all the factors and the author's explanations are clear and detailed just enough. The tone is friendly and encourages the Oregon gardener to take advantage of all the micro-climates we have to offer. I now understand why I can grow more cherry tomatoes than I can give away and can't grow a full-sized tomato to save my life. I think I understand what I'm doing wrong with carrots and cauliflower and right with lettuce. The author covers how to think about garden planning, whether in the ground, raised beds, or even containers, where to locate them for the best sun for a variety of veggies, and when to plant things for the best outcomes. I'm ready to get my hands dirty!
Thanks to NetGalley and Timber Press for providing me with an advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest review. I can't wait to get out there and try some new things in my garden!
