Sherlock Holmes and The Vanishing Act
Alex Meyer was the East End's most celebrated street magician, amazing audiences with his incredible illusions and daring escapes. But when he disappears for good during one of his performances, his wife suspects foul play and asks Holmes and Watson to find her missing husband.
Holmes and Watson proceed with their investigation and are soon presented with many suspects who would benefit from Meyer’s disappearance, from a disgruntled rival to an opportunist journalist who will stop at nothing to get a scintillating scoop for his newspaper.

Great short book that can be read in one or two sittings. Like Swifts tight and compact way of writing. A magician doing a vanishing act actually vanishes. Holmes and Watson are there immediately.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are approached by the wife of a missing magician. This leads to another magician, the missing magician assist, and a lord and a happy ending.
I would recommend this series and author to fans of Sherlock Holmes and readers of British mystery novels. 2024

An excellent Holmes short story
Holmes and Watson are relaxing at Baker street when a young woman comes looking for help. She explains that her husband had disappeared the night before. After listening to her story Holmes agrees to help her. From there the intrigue grows with several twists and turns and a surprise ending. A fun read.

This story, though well researched, had almost a comic feel, though there was a mystery to be solved. Conversation between characters other than Holmes and Watson helped to move this story along.
