When Dr Watson fails to return home after responding to an urgent medical call, Sherlock Holmes senses foul play.
His friend's disappearance leads Holmes from the elegant townhouses of Marylebone to the isolated cottages of Surrey, following a trail grown cold after fifteen years.
With only a dropped journal as his first clue, Holmes must unravel a mystery where nothing is as it seems. Why would someone target the loyal doctor? What connection does this have to a patient who died under his care years ago?
As the hours tick by, Holmes finds himself in a race against time to save his closest friend from someone determined to make Watson pay for a crime he didn't commit.

I would highly recommend this series and author to fans of Sherlock Holmes and British mystery novels 😄🤗 2025 🤓😯
Dr. Watson, beloved friend of Sherlock Holmes, is summoned in the wee hours of the morning for a medical emergency. When he fails to return home, Sherlock becomes quite alarmed at this most unusual behavior and knows something has happened to Watson. This short (when compared to most Holmes-Watson mysteries) follows Holmes as he methodically solves his missing friend's disappearance. I adore Holmes mysteries, and this one is no exception. Well written and just enough mystery to hold your interest in finding out why anyone would want to hurt the gentle Watson.
Ms. Swift definitely saved the best book for last in her series. If I could give this story a 6, I would. It showed Holmes at his finest and allowed for him to express emotion in a manner that remained true to his character and style. The twist at the end was that Holmes not only solved one mystery but was inclined to solve a second. I definitely recommend this book to any Holmes aficionado.
Watson has disappeared after going on a medical call that proved to be a fake. As Holmes digs into the disappearance it leads him on a bizarre journey with a surprise ending.
I couldn't put this one down. If a mystery involves danger to Dr. Watson, or involves something of his past, I have to read it...and this one was pretty satisfying.
