The idea of a continuous garden is intriguing, I usually find myself wanting more from the garden but not having much time to put towards it. I like the format of the book. It contains clear, easy to follow directions for planning, developing, planting, and maintaining gardens of this type. The multitude of details, answers to questions, best practices, and plants to consider provide the details needed to get started with this type of garden. I especially like the Plant Profiles that contain practical information on vegetables, herbs, and fruits to consider for the garden. The information is detailed enough for new gardeners and will be a useful resource to all. The full colored photographs have captured my attention and are inspiring me to add more to my gardens. I am fascinated by this approach and this book is going to be referred to often!
I highly recommend this approach to anyone wanting to start or enhance a vegetable garden.

As someone who has gardened for close to a decade, I have to say I really loved The Continuous Vegetable Garden. The book itself is perfect for anyone looking for ways not just to grow their own food but also to make sure their garden produces year after year. What I loved so much about the book isn’t just a focus on natural gardening, but making sure you have a garden that produces year after year. This means reusing seedlings from your own garden and focusing on plants that come back year after year.
Along with useful information on learning about various plants, they also discuss ways to improve your garden, such as composting, planting together, and controlling weeds naturally (using methods like planting plants that block out weeds). I also love the book’s easy-to-follow design, which lets you quickly go to the sections you need as you learn about different plants, their needs, and how they can improve your own garden. As a gardener, I really think it’s one of those books that benefit any collection!
