Echo's van strijd en storm

Rate this book

A phenomenal fantasy novel in my opinion. It has some of my favourite tropes from my favourite childhood fantasy novels (portal fantasy! Lost Princess! The love interest is a prince from the enemy kingdom! Elemental magic!) and I could not get enough of it. The writing style is distinct between the two point of views and both Mev and Kael are AMAZING characters who both have great arcs in this book. I love a good travel fantasy and that was what this was. Just on a horse in nature with 2 characters who have to share a tent like OHH that is just peak fantasy in my opinion. Genuinely everything about this just hit the mark for me, it all brought me feelings of nostalgia in some odd way but I just have to say I loved this book.
The plot is slowly developing and again it’s a classical fantasy plot that I ADORE and haven’t read in ages. I genuinely loved the pure whimsy this novel had.
The romance had me kicking my feet and smiling. THEY WERE SO CUTE TOGETHER!!!!!!
And the side characters were perfect as well. The magic system is cool, the setting is vibrant and vivid….10/10.
I am now DYING for book 2 and praying I get an arc for it because this was amazing! Mev and Kael for life :)

My friends all know I love my fantasy books at the moment, especially romantasy. I hadn't heard much from this author but the blurb sounded right up my street!
Most fantasy books are long, due to the world building that the authors need to integrate into their novels. This book however, was a mere 269 pages. I was intrigued as to how this was going to be executed, and whilst I enjoyed it, I do think the world building and the novel as a whole, was interesting enough to benefit from expansion.
That said, I still enjoyed it. There are plenty of popular tropes to keep us fantasy readers happy, and the pacing was fast, as there was no filler.
I've seen Book two, Tide of Waves and Secrets is out in May 2025 so will definitely look out for that. The author's other books also look to be a similar length, so I'm off to check those out too!

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for a free e-ARC in exchange for an honest review

Whisper of War and Storms is a new portal romantasy, setting out as a book with vibes similar to those of Fourth Wing or A Court of Thorns and Roses, with a fresh, original take on the genre.

Before i get into a detailed review, I will say I hate giving low ratings to books, because I know how much work lies in not just the writing, but also the publishing process.
However, in giving an honest review I have to be, well, honest. And the matter of fact is that this book was extremely poorly written.

But let me point out the good things first.
I really like the premise of this book. The idea is original, and with so many similar romantasy storylines out there, a portal romantasy like this feels like a fresh take. I think Elydor is an interesting world, and I like the idea of it and the magic system as well as the political intrigues.
In fact, I really like the overall idea of the book, and that’s the reason I requested it to start with.
A good idea alone, however, doesn’t make a good book. The writing is just as important - if not more. So let’s delve into the writing style, shall we?

Overall, the writing style of this book is sloppy. It is telling and the language is extremely passive, to the point where the book gets confusing time and time again, despite the fact that nothing is left for the reader to reflect upon themself.
Descriptions are minimal and it is difficult to get an idea of what is happening in the scenes, as most actions aren’t described. Time and time again Kael or Mev will say something and we’ll hear the other’s thoughts pointing out the exact thing every reader should be able to pick up between the lines. Sometimes the characters will be in the middle of a conversation and suddenly a character will think and ponder about something completely unrelated and then they’re on a horse.
I did like the fact, that the characters needed to relieve themselves from time to time. We don’t see that much in books. Though, if I’m being honest, maybe this book reached the ‘too much’ mark for mentioning pee-breaks.

In general, the book reads like a messy first draft, which is sad, because a thorough round of edits to make the writing more active and more showing, and this story would really be something up there!
The potential is there, but the writing style drags it down to a point where I really struggled to get through the book.

Overall 1/5. If you want to compare your book to bestsellers such as Fourth Wing or ACOTAR, you should have a product that can handle that comparison. And given the writing style in this book, that’s not the case here.

With that out of the way, I’ll say this. The idea is there. The world is there. The characters are there. I hope the author realizes that, and then takes the time to practice and improve her writing, because an idea as good as this one deserves a book worthy of it.

A Dual-Realm Fantasy Romance with Potential

Step into a dual-perspective tale where an immortal prince from a magic-infused alternate world crosses paths with a determined woman from Earth, both searching for answers in their intertwined destinies. This elemental fantasy romance offers a light, entertaining read, earning a **3.2/5 ⭐️** from me.

While the dialogue occasionally veers into cheesy territory, pulling readers out of the immersion, the story's foundation holds promise. The world-building teases an intriguing backdrop, though it could benefit from more depth and subtlety to truly captivate. There’s a tendency to "tell" rather than let the narrative organically unfold, which might leave some readers wanting more vivid descriptions.

The characters are likable enough to root for, but their development feels underexplored. More inner dialogue and richer relationship-building would elevate their arcs and deepen emotional connections.

Overall, this is a light, enjoyable read for fantasy romance fans seeking a casual escape. If you enjoy worlds filled with magic and budding romance, this one’s worth a look—keep in mind it’s more of a snack than a full-course meal.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

The writing was great! I love when authors give you the background to the characters. Dual POV which is always nice to get to see into both the FMC and MMC minds, and I love the relationship between the two. Mev does seem to be a little too trusting very quickly though, and Kael seemed to fall very hard very fast. The world building was great and their magic system is unique which is refreshing as well. This does end in a cliffhanger which definitely has me excited for the next book!

Whispers of Worlds and Storms of Desire

'Whispers of War and Storms' opens like a door to two worlds the familiar York and the unknown magical Aetheria. Casey L. Mecca writes with a light and modern style making it easy to glide almost unnoticed from chapter to chapter. The short chapters keep the pace high like the wind brushing your cheeks as you pick up speed.

Mevlika pulls you through the streets of York driven by curiosity and impulsiveness always one step further than is wise. Kael on the other hand carries the weight of his title like a second skin prince duty power. He is the kind of character you slowly get to know layer by layer until you see the human behind the crown.

The attraction between these two develops quickly and convincingly according to the plot but emotionally the journey could have taken a little more time to truly resonate. Nevertheless their dynamic outweighs the speed the sparks are there even when you expect them to smolder a little longer.

Aetheria does not feel like a backdrop but as a powerful second realm where heritage and magic determine who you are and where conflicts run deeper than the borders of York. It is a world that invites you to get lost and dream but also to make choices the cost of which is sometimes higher than expected.

For readers who enjoy romantic fantasy with an accessible entry point an original magical world and a touch of court intrigue this is a delightful journey. Less suitable for those looking for a long slow burning enemies to lovers romance as here the storm arrives a bit faster.

✨ Forgotten rings, hidden heritage, and a world filled with magic… This story pulled me in from the very first page. The worldbuilding of Aetheria is so vivid and intriguing that I instantly wanted more.
Mev and Kael are fascinating characters, and their chemistry is definitely there, though I kept waiting for just a little more tension and romance to truly spark. It felt like the story was almost ready to take off… but held back a bit.
Still, the magical setting and the unfolding political intrigue make me curious enough to continue. Who knows — maybe I’ll pick up book two to see where this journey leads. ✨📚

⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (3.5, rounded up to 4)

Elydoria is a realm where elemental magic is inherent—and it just so happens to have a very inconvenient backdoor hidden in a pub‘s cellar in York. The Aetherians (air-wielders) are mostly open to humans—their king even married one. The other elemental kingdoms, however, aren’t so friendly and tend to see humans as the root of all evil.

Enter Mev, a modern-day girl who accidentally slips through the portal—long thought sealed for nearly thirty years—and stumbles straight into Elydoria… only to be promptly abducted by a grumpy, brooding (and yes, swoonworthy) earth prince.

I really enjoyed the setup—especially Mev navigating a medieval world with her contemporary sensibilities and way of speaking. The dynamic had a lot of potential. That said, the plot moved very quickly; everything unfolded over just a few days, which left little room for tension or buildup. I found myself wishing for more yearning, more conflict, and a slower burn in the romance. The story was also fairly linear and could’ve benefited from a bit more complexity and depth.

Still, a solid start to a series with an entertaining premise and a grumpy prince I wouldn’t mind reading more of.

In Whisper of War and Storms by C.L. Mecca, we embark on a journey following an immortal prince from a mystical realm and a resolute woman from Earth, both on a quest for answers when their fates intertwine …

The world-building hints at a rich backdrop, yet it could use more nuance and depth to fully captivate me. The narrative sometimes leans more towards telling rather than showing, which made me wish for a more vivid imagery and emotional resonance.

The characters are endearing, but their growth feels somewhat superficial. A deeper exploration of their inner thoughts and more nuanced relationship development would have enhanced their journeys. An all in all longer book might have provided Mev and Kael with more time for their relationship to grow more organically.

Overall, this book serves as an enjoyable, light diversion for fans of fantasy romance, offering a taste of magic and with an insta-love connection between our two MCs.

I wanted to love this book—the premise had so much potential. A portal romantasy with political intrigue and a unique magic system? Sounds great. Unfortunately, the execution fell flat.

The writing was simplistic and clunky, with a lot of telling instead of showing. Scenes lacked depth, transitions were abrupt, and dialogue often felt unnatural. The plot was predictable, which wouldn’t have been an issue if the storytelling had been more engaging. Instead, I found myself struggling to stay invested. Oddly, mundane details were over-explained, while world-building and character development felt undercooked.

With more editing, this could have been something special. As it stands, it just didn’t work for me.

This was a pretty fast-paced romantasy read. I feel it is perfect for readers who want a lighter shorter read. I really enjoyed how clear the world-building was and the explanations of elemental magic. The FMC Mev and the MMC Kael were both pretty likeable. Though they were likeable, I didn't feel the ‘pull’ to them as much but it could have been the slight insta-love/insta-lust. There is political drama and at points if felt rushed. It probably has to do with being under 300 pages.

Regardless, the story was pretty entertaining.

3.75 stars rounded up to 4! Whisper of War and Storms is a fast paced romantasy where the plot moves along quite quickly! the world building was easy to understand and well explained. I liked the elemental magic, I liked the concept of the plot of a human accidentally thrust into a magical realm, and I found both Mel and Kael to be likeable! I felt certain parts were rushed and I would have like to seen more development, but it was entertaining and I’m intrigued to see where the story heads!

Awesome

This was such an interesting story. I love how it started and that everything happened due to her trying to figure out what happened to her mom and how she was born. This is a human world that has a portal to a fantasy world where magic and different people live. I loved all the magic aspects as well as the kingdoms. I can't wait to read the next book.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC of Whisper of War and Storms.

It was a fun, quick read with a good storyline which was simple enough to follow which meant I could fly through it! But still really enjoyed the story & the relationship development between the FMC and MMC.

Loved the dual worlds aspect, enemies to lovers, giving touch her and die vibes... ending with a quest that we're going to have to go on for three artifacts in the next book! I'll definitely be reading the second one when it becomes available! Loved it!

Just finished reading, Whisper of War and Storms. I read this book in a day, I totally flew through it and couldn't put it down! It was so, so good! This was about Mev, and she never knew who her father was, all she had was a photo of her mom pregnant 28 years ago in front of a pub in England and a ring. So she sets off to England to find this pub in hopes of some answers, and she gets much more than she bargained for! She finds a crazy pub owner who tells her about another realm and magic and all sorts of other wild things, one of which is that her father is a king. Then when a portal in the pub's basement actually transports her to another realm, she is immediately kidnapped because that portal has been closed for 28 years and no one should be able to open it, and because she is, in fact, the long lost daughter of the king. I absolutely devoured this story, it had my attention from start to finish! The world building, the magic, and the realms were so intriguing and easy to understand. The main characters had depth, their banter was so fun, and their chemistry was undeniable. The side characters were fantastic and added a lot to the storyline. I loved the direction this story went, how the story ended with this book, and I'm excited because of how this story set things up for book 2! I loved everything about this book and I cannot wait to dive into book 2! 🩷📚

Spice:🌶️

This is the first book I’ve read by C.L. Mecca and I can confirm I will definitely be back for more because I simply could not put this book down! I fell in love with the world building, the magic systems, the slow burn, enemies to lovers romance, the characters both main and side, the hilarious banter, and still I am left with questions that have me counting down the days till book two is released! A time travel, medieval romance you won’t be able to put down! After twenty eight years of no answers and her mother telling her that some things are better left in the past Mev is determined to figure out who her father is, what her background is, and if maybe just maybe finding him might fill in the gaps she feels missing in her heart. So when she finds a strange ring and a photo of he mom outside some strange pub, Mev and her best friend decide to go on a trip to York to see if they can’t hunt down some answers. After a thorough search of every pub and more than one side eye from annoyed bartenders and pub owners Mev has accepted that maybe her longing to find her father truly never will be fulfilled. That is until her and Clara (the bff) walk into the Crooked Key, a pub whose owner spins a fanciful tale of a wild world outside our own that happens to be connected by a portal that was shut and sealed years ago. A portal that when shown to Mev she feels an undeniable draw to. And when she touches it transports her to a new world, a world that seems to be trapped in the medical time with a few modern amenities. Before she even has a chance to get her wits about her though Mev is whisked away by the enemy Prince Kael. What follows is a twisting and turning plot full of mystery, action, slow burn, enemies to lovers romance, a sprinkle of spice and a few secrets and betrayals that may or may not be the downfall of Mev and Kaels budding romance if they can’t put aside their differences and believe in the truth of their love. If that’s the kind of story you’re looking for then don’t hesitate to grab a copy of Whispers of War and Storms today!

I received this from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to love this book but I knew within the first few pages that it wasn't going to be a five star read. I hate giving low star reviews because these books are parts of someone's soul. It's the bringing it to life part that is the hardest. The idea of the book is good and I loved the cover. The magic system was very well thought out and it was the best aspect of the book and the one I enjoyed the most. It was detailed, specific and a bit different to anything that I've read for a while. The world building was also quite well done, it wasn't drawn out but a 'learn as you go - along with the FMC' kind of thing. The whole world was explained well and was easy to understand. It is an easy read, especially if you're looking for something quick and light.

For me, the story lacked depth. While the world building and the secondary characters were introduced and described quite well, the main characters just lacked chemistry. They went from hate to love in a heartbeat and it just didn't feel natural to me. There was no progression, no small moments where they start to see each other in another light, if you don't count changing clothes and hair changes. The opposition from Mev's language to Kael's was too much for me and I know that if it had been done any other way it wouldn't have been right but all of a sudden Mev starts to pick up Kael's way of speaking, makes a comment about it but doesn't stop doing it. Everything was too easy, Mev had 'feelings' and they were always true and then all of a sudden a lie came out of nowhere and I was just a little blind sighted by it. Some parts were cheesy and all of it seemed to just move so quickly and yet nothing really happened. There was no tension, no worrying about whether something bad was going to happen and how they were going to get through it. The plot was a simple one, it is exactly as the blurb says and I crave a deep, thick plot that keeps my attention or at the very least a cliff hanger that has me gasping for more, more story, more history, more of the MC's romance.

It's a quick, easy and uncomplicated read and unfortunately I didn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

Mevlida never could have imagined that her trip to England looking for clues to find her unknown father would end up with her tumbling into an alternate world of magic called Aetheria, but here she is. She also couldn’t have known that her father is none other than a king, and she is the princess the kingdom has been missing since her mother disappeared from Aetheria. Mev’s return sparks tension between kingdoms, bringing her into the clutches of Kael, the prince of an enemy kingdom. As the tension between the two of them begins to mirror the ongoing conflict between their kingdoms, they both need to choose where their loyalties lie.

This was a light, breezy read. The author did a good job of creating a world and characters that I felt invested in as a reader and a premise that sets itself up well for future installments in this series. There were a lot of plot threads set up over the course of this book, and just enough of them were explored to make it a satisfying read while still leaving sufficient material to explore in sequels. The writing style matched the pace of the book well, with enough detail to visualize the characters and scenery but not so much that I felt bogged down reading it. I also appreciated the amount of development that went into the side-characters to make them feel like fleshed-out people.

There was a lot that I liked about this book. The magic system was interesting, and I liked the main character a lot. The story was fast-paced and I never felt bored reading it. That said, it also doesn’t do anything particularly new or different from other Romantasy books. And that’s okay! But I would have liked to have gotten to know the world a little more, and the relationship between Kael and Mev being so fast-paced made it difficult for me to get fully invested in their romance. If you’re looking for a quick Romantasy read with a lighter tone than others in the genre, I think this would be a fun read for you. Many thanks to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this ARC. This is my honest review.

3.5/5 A fast-paced romance set in a vibrant fantasy world.

4.5⭐️ rounded to 5⭐️ on Goodreads and retail sites. WHISPER OF WAR AND STORMS (Heirs of Elydor Book 1) is a new genre for historical and paranormal romance writer C.L. Mecca/Cecelia Mecca/Cissy Mecca/Bella Michaels. It is described as “A spellbinding, epic romantasy adventure of tangled secrets and dark magic for fans of Sarah J Maas, Callie Hart, Rebecca Yarros and Jennifer L Armentrout.” Mevlida Brennan headed to York, England searching for clues about her forgotten history after finding a photograph and an unusual ring pointing her there. Her mother had visited the city and left pregnant with no memory of how it had happened. After a fruitless search, they found the pub in the picture, the knowledge that her father was a King in another world, and a portal into that world. She found herself in a world of magic on the brink of war and an undeniable pull to a Prince who was her father’s enemy. This may be the author’s first foray into romantasy, but she definitely nailed it. It is a well written story that immediately grabbed me and kept me spellbound from cover to cover. I loved Mevlida and how easily she adapted to all the changes in her circumstances as the novel progressed. I also really liked Kael, who despite claiming to support his father’s prejudices demonstrated with his actions that he felt differently. The couple were reluctantly drawn to each other, despite the fact that loyalty to their fathers demanded that they be enemies. Kael was left with a choice between this beguiling woman and loyalty to a father who did not show him the same level of trust and support. I cannot wait for the next volume in this series, happy that I took a chance on an author who was new to me. I recommend this book to readers who enjoy spicy enemies to lovers fantasy romance series. It is available in the kindleunlimited program.

I would like to thank Rachel’s Random Resources, Boldwood Books, and Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are solely mine.

Review: Whisper of War and Storms by C.L. Mecca
Rating: 3.5/5

Whisper of War and Storms by C.L. Mecca is a solid start to what feels like an epic romantasy series. The story drops us into the magical kingdom of Aetheria, where Mevlida Brennan, a seemingly ordinary woman, learns she’s actually a long-lost princess. From there, we’re swept into a world of political intrigue, elemental magic, and a sizzling (if a little rushed) romance with Kael, the brooding son of a powerful king.

The world-building is lush, and the premise is intriguing. There’s so much potential here for a story full of epic twists and turns. Mevlida and Kael’s dynamic has some great moments—there’s humor, chemistry, and a bit of edge that romantasy fans will enjoy.

That said, the pacing is where I struggled a bit. The romance, while enjoyable, develops way too fast. One moment, Mevlida knows nothing about Aetheria or her place in it, and the next, she and Kael are flirting and joking about their future. Given the captive-captor setup, the “I love yous” and marriage talk came way too quickly. I would’ve loved to see their relationship evolve more naturally.

Additionally, the book doesn’t quite have a big, climactic moment—it feels like it’s setting the stage for something grander in book two. That’s not necessarily bad, but if you’re looking for major twists or epic battles right away, you might feel a little letdown.

Overall, Whisper of War and Storms has a lot to offer for fans of romantasy who enjoy steamy tension and intricate world-building. While it didn’t completely hit the mark for me, I’m curious to see where the series goes next!

Thank you, Netgalley, for the ARC.

Whisper of War and Storms
C.L. Mecca

Mevlida Brennan decides to take a trip with her friend bringing along an old photo. A picture of Mev's Mother when pregnant with Mev in front of an unknown Pub in the UK. Her mother has no memories of that time so can't tell her anything, but when a forgotten sapphire ring unlocks a long ago closed portal to another existence she finds out that she is Princess Mevlida of Aetheria. This is a kingdom of immortals and magic. There is only one problem -Mev has no idea she was missing.

Kael also a prince happens to be there when Mev comes through the portal and immediately kidnaps her as it's his father who sealed the portal after sending the pregnant Queen through the portal against her wishes.
As time goes on Kael starts to realize that he is developing strong feelings for Mev, and he realizes that all he wants is to get her to her father the king safely.

C.L. Mecca just took my world and dumped it upside down. I should have realized that this author could write in any genre she chooses. This book just blew my mind and left me feeling like I'm soaring through the air with happiness. This is one gifted author. This book took me through a gauntlet of emotions. And the secrets, wow! I didn't even see these coming. There are secrets everywhere in this book. The magic was unparalleled. I was so amazed at the magic powers everyone seemed to have and they were so perfectly different for them all. All in all of you enjoy magic, fantasy, romance, paranormal things, immortals, humans, and all with a nod to long ago times then this is the book for you. Well done Ms. Mecca, I tilt my head in appreciation to you.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this eCopy to review

As a lover of romantasy novels, Whisper of War and Storms by C.L. Mecca was a delightful read that kept me hooked from start to finish. This book is a captivating blend of romance, magic, and adventure, set in a world filled with secrets and dark magic.

The story follows Mevlida Brennan, who discovers her true heritage as the long-lost princess of Aetheria, a kingdom of immortals and magic. Her world is turned upside down when a forgotten ring reveals her royal lineage, thrusting her into a realm on the brink of war. Mev must navigate a dangerous political game and uncover the truth about her destiny while dealing with her newfound powers.

Kael, the brooding prince, stands in her way as he is sworn to protect his people, even if it means kidnapping Mev to keep her from uncovering the truth. As dark forces rise and Mev's dormant powers awaken, trust becomes a luxury neither can afford, yet their hearts may leave them no choice.

C.L. Mecca's writing is both lyrical and engaging, making it easy to get lost in the story's intricate web of relationships and events. The world-building is exceptional, with vivid descriptions that bring the fantastical landscapes and cultures to life. The blend of elemental magic, political intrigue, and forbidden romance creates a multifaceted narrative that appeals to a wide range of readers.

Whisper of War and Storms is a highly engaging and immersive read that I would recommend to any fan of romantasy. It's a book that left me eagerly anticipating the next instalment in the series.

This world was a fantastic draw in. It's not perfect and it could use some work in places but I loved the story and the MC's. Time-travel-ish through a portal to an almost medieval like realm but whose inhabitants are semi-current on Earthisms and technology!

Mevlida (I'd go by Mev too!) has returned to the scene of her mothers lost time. She's trying to root out what happened to her mother, who her father may be and what caused her mum's memory blackout. Along for the ride is her bestie and fellow history lover, Clara. They make a huge discovery but before Mev can think about what she's doing she finds herself sucked through a portal!

Ah Kael. He's the playboy badboy of Elydor. He's had centuries under the authority of his father and he now sees the error of his ways. Now if he can just smuggle this human refugee to safety, he thinks he'' be making a dent in the karma overhaul he needs to undertake!

These two are slow-burn, intense enemies to lovers. The MC's and the secondary characters are relatable and friendly. The banter is witty and paced well. And shock horror - these characters actually have to go to the loo! I hate it when characters never need to go to the loo, brush their teeth, etc.

There is spice but it's infrequent and not over the top. It was a tad cheesy in places and could be more telling than showing but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have added book 2 to the TBR!

PS I may be not so subtly hoping for a MM romance between Adren and Rowan, just saying!

A lost princess. A forbidden love. A destiny she never knew awaited her.
When a forgotten ring reveals Mevlida Brennan’s true heritage as the long-lost princess of Aetheria, a kingdom of immortals and magic, her world is turned upside down. But there’s just one problem—Mev didn’t know she was missing.
Thrust into a realm on the brink of war, Mev is caught between her newfound legacy and a dangerous political game. A powerful king holds the key to restoring the ancient portal that connects their realms, but his son, Kael, stands in her way. Brooding, relentless, and dangerously irresistible, Kael is sworn to protect his people—even if it means kidnapping Mev to keep her from uncovering the truth.
As dark forces rise and her dormant powers awaken, trust is a luxury neither can afford, yet their hearts may leave them no choice. Mev must embrace her destiny or risk losing everything. Because the storm isn’t coming—it’s already here.
In a battle of elemental magic, loyalty, and love, one whisper could spark a war.
💜 Review -
I really enjoyed this fantasy novel. I was hooked from the very first page and I kept reading until the end as I wanted to know what happened. The story was so full of content and adventure that sometimes I forgot that I was reading and I was swept along with the characters in the story. I loved the place settings in the story, plus there was a great cast of characters. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.

I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for allowing me the privilege to read an ARC for this book!

I honestly don't know what to say, I dont think I can truly convey how much I fell in love with this book. I was not expecting to fall for this like I did but oh boy did! I laughed, I worried and I loved! Yes things happen very very fast in this book (including all relationships) but it's a rush, a breathe of fresh air from somethings I've been reading lately! There is a great story here, great and really interesting characters, so much love, and a dual pov that actually works! Both sides were don't fantastically! I have never once ever said this in my long time of reading but Kael is book boyfriend material most definitely!!

I have honestly not felt as happy and light as I felt reading this in a very long while. I know I make it sound like this is some silly read, it's really not. It is serious it makes you feel like you're right there along with them. You will fall in love with the description of this world, you will love all of these characters, laugh with them and you will want them safe and happy!

I can't wait until this releases so I can bring it home! This is a forever book for me, and there better be more because I need so much more from these characters and this world!

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to read this book! I really needed it this in my life!
