Dive into The Cat Who Clawed Fate — a haunting, twisty cat mystery book where nothing is as it seems.
I liked the story, but there were a few things that confused me. The spelling of Nora Vale (Veil, Veyl's) name and her family's company. I also didn't understand whether the cat, Ashes, talked to Nora or if readers only saw his thoughts. Besides those issues, it was a cute story featuring supernatural elements. It was well written, but I thought the tension dragged a bit up until the end. It felt more like a novella than a full novel. I also hoped, there would be a romance between Nora and Elias. This might lead way to a series. The gem that Nora's mother left her that was embued with special powers and entitled her to be heir to the company was a nice touch. The part about Ash's falling and being injured when he saves Nora from Leonard doesn't account for how cats can fall from heights and land safely. However, we aren't told how far he fell. If it was close, the cat may have been injured. Sorry to point out so many issues. The plot and storyline were good. I just felt better editing would've helped.
