This is the first time I have read a book by Gwen Hunter. I discovered after I bought the book it is part three of a series. Apparently the series has been out since 2004, but with the new release in Kindle and audio format it has revived the series.

The series is set in Dawkins County, a rural part of South Carolina. Rheane Rheaburn Lynch, M.D. is an emergency room physician for Dawkins County’s small hospital. This particular book deals with faith healing. There is lots of medical terminology, all explained and lots of suspense, action, humor as well as small southern town politics.

Hunter has developed highly rich complex characters and a compelling suspenseful plot. It is a fast easy read. I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. Carol Hendrickson narrates the story.

Thoroughly enthralling read.

Ms. Hunter is a gifted storyteller. I found it hard to stop reading to do the other things necessary in everyday life. Her work is a delight for serious readers and an inspiration for aspiring authors. However, since a lot of the story has medical terms, abbreviations and acronyms, I suggest to the editors that a glossary of those terms be added to the back of each book for reference by the readers. Some understanding of the depth story is lost unless those terms can be readily referenced.

I loved it! This book was fast moving and you can actually feel Dr.Rheas's exhaustion. She cares deeply about all the patients she treats in the ER and even goes out of her way to help them on her own time. She has really good, solid, and interesting friends and constantly makes more in her field when she calls for consultations. I really enjoyed how the story played out and I learned fascinating bits here and there. Great series! This is one of my favorite authors.

Book 3 has Mark and Dr Rhea-Rhea still circling one another. Risa is off getting more therapy and help with the twins. A visiting faith healer sets up camp in the town with some strange results. But its the crashed van that is the most puzzling. Who are the two Jane Doe's, who was the driver and did Rhea see a 4th person through the rain.

Belle and Pup and Ms Essie all have their parts to play too

This lady won't stop writing these awesome stories! I don't care what name she uses. You know you're going to love the story. Only one more book in this series and I don't want it to end. I just love Rhea and Mark and all the other characters.

This story was fantastic!

Dr. Rhea Lynch is a complex character with intelligence and personality quirks to spare. She feels so real that you find yourself completely wrapped up in her world. The story itself is complex and consuming. There are no cookie cutter solutions or pat answers to be found, just a character rich story that keeps you engrossed throughout!

This one had a bit of a mysticism feel to it, which I thought made it even more enjoyable. It even leaves you guessing a bit at the end... Was DaraDivinna actually healing through Faith? Was Na'Shalome actually harming through witchcraft?

Once again, a great story.. I'm sorry the last one will be the last for awhile
