Peaches and Honey: A Small-Town Sapphic Romance

Rate this book
When PR executive Honey Parker inherits her late aunt’s peach farm and bakery in her sleepy hometown of Hickory Springs, Georgia, she plans a quick sale and a swift return to her high-powered life in Chicago. But the small town with too many painful memories, and the curvaceous, honey-sweet beekeeper next door, might have other plans.

After an accident shattered Mimi Smith’s Olympic equestrian dreams, she has spent years crafting her life in quiet harmony by nurturing bees, baking pastries infused with her secret peach honey at the bakery she co-owned with Honey’s aunt, and helping train a new generation of girls dreaming of equestrian stardom. When a developer’s deal threatens to pave over her passions, she’s ready to fight for her home and her heart.

What starts as tension over property lines and mismatched finances, slowly melts into laughter, shared recipes, and a warmth Honey hasn’t felt in years. But when sabotage strikes and old dreams clash with new desires, both women must decide what they’re willing to risk for a chance at something real.

Peaches and Honey is a slow-burn romance full of southern charm, and is all about love, legacy, and the kind of home you never see coming.

This was such a beautiful and cute story. Right away I knew I would want more, seeing that it was only 212 pages. But Karmen Lee was able to write a full and complete story in that little of pages. I still would love more, because it was such a great story. But her ability to be able to convey so many feelings and a complete story in a little over 200 pages, shows how amazing of a writer she is.

This was surprisingly deeper than I realized. I did not see the “plot twist” coming. I don’t know if that is the correct word for what Honey discovered, but I didn’t see it coming. I would’ve loved to see more of that and how she worked through that revelation from her stepmom.

I read this in less than eight hours. I couldn’t put it down. I’m so glad I got the book box for Peaches and Honey. I love having things like stickers and bookmarks related to books I love. This was a five star read! I wouldn’t mind reading a novella about Mimi and Honey’s future, heck even a full novel--I’d eat it up.

As the last Parker, ad exec Honey Parker has inherited her Aunt's farm. Which she doesn't want and intends to sell. She's also being pressured by her boss to get this settled, and by dad and step-mom.

Complicating matters, her Aunt named local girl Mimi the co-owner of everything, who has no intention of selling.

Honey thought her Aunt was speaking metaphorical, nope, Mimi is on all the documents as co-owner.

Honey tells her boss off and quits, as she and Mimi start tentatively dating. But there's a lot to deal with, including a revelation about her step mother.

3 out of 5 stars. Mostly just too short... the relationship feels rushed, who smashed the beehive is never revealed, and so on.

peaches & honey

I’m only giving this 3.5 stars because I feel like we didn’t get any resolution for one of the main plot points. Outside of that, I really enjoyed this book, as usual from Karmen Lee

This story was so brains unpacked so many things. The slow burn was killing me but I’m so happy they found one another in the end. The step mother part i was not expecting. Whew
