Accidentally flipped through the whole thing. It was my grandmother’s, so lots of folded pages on recipes she liked, an X next to one that I guess she didn’t like, and old coupons from the 70s as bookmarks (guess I know where I get the receipt-as-bookmark thing from). Anyway, very old school with lots of combinations that read as strange today, but I do want to try the Male Chauvinist Chili hahaha. I’m dying to know the origin of that name….
Over 300 original recipes from Rival Manufacturing, the inventors of the original Crick-Pot slow cooker. Included: Gourmet Meatloaf, Lamb Stew with Vegetables, Jambalaya, Black Bean Soup, Spicy Cabbage Rolls, Carrot Cake and Old-Fashioned Gingerbread. This book is a 1975 printing, so you will have to use your imagination to visualize the end product. There are no pictures! I will cook some of these recipes but, for simple pleasure, I orefer Martha Stewart’s very colorful and illustrative slow cooker version.
Classic comfort food recipes. My go-to book for using my Crock Pot. Be aware that because this is from 1975, the salt and fat content might be a bit high; adjust to suit.
I had to do a Google search to find a good ISBN for this book, as the one ON the book is one digit short.
However, the listing is incorrect. The author is Marilyn Neill. Pat Stewart is the illustrator. The actual title is "Rival Crockpot Cooking".
