Está muy bueno. En algunas partes me pareció medio pesado y repetitivo, pero muchas otras terminaba de leer y me daban ganas de orar :)
Transmite muy bien la simplicidad y humildad con la que se proponía vivir Francisco. Me parece un muy buen ejemplo a seguir, aunque en algunas cosas me pareció que exageraba un poco.

Impresionante lo que la vivencia de la pobreza y la sencillez puede hacer en los demás y lo mucho que puede impactar al mundo entero después de años de ver a este gran santo vivir.
Es un abrebocas para conocer la radicalidad con la que vivía Francisco. Se lo recomendaría a alguien que está en desolación.
Es un libro que contiene situaciones de mucho fruto en la vida de San Francisco de Asís. Un tercio del libro habla de cuando el estaba en desolación.
Se puede ver lo mucho que amaba a sus hermanos y lo mucho que se preocupaba por ellos. Hay una parte muy bonita en donde destaca la amistad que tenia con Santa Clara.
Es un abrebocas para conocer la radicalidad con la que vivía Francisco. Se lo recomendaría a alguien que está en desolación.
Es un libro que contiene situaciones de mucho fruto en la vida de San Francisco de Asís. Un tercio del libro habla de cuando el estaba en desolación.

Un gran acercamiento a la vida de este santo.
Con una prosa muy sencilla, Eloi Leclerc nos presenta una parte de la vida de San Francisco, luego de que la crisis llegara a su Orden, y parte de sus enseñanzas que esconden una gran profundidad.
Además su vida pone sobre la mesa otro tema que como Iglesia tenemos abandonado: el cuidado de la creación de Dios. San Francisco incluye la contemplación y el cuidado de la naturaleza en su espiritualidad en un plano primordial, si no central, y nos invita, especialmente en este tiempo, a hacerlo también nosotros.
Creo que es un libro para marcar mucho y al que volver seguido ya que nos presenta algunas verdades de la fe que muchas veces elegimos no recordar.
Con una prosa muy sencilla, Eloi Leclerc nos presenta una parte de la vida de San Francisco, luego de que la crisis llegara a su Orden, y parte de sus enseñanzas que esconden una gran profundidad.

A very fascinating re-creation of a part of St. Francis life where he was plagued with insecurity about the future of the order.
At times a little tedious, but there are treasures in the work - some from Francis' writing, others from the imagination of the writer (I presume).
Worth a read - especially if you are struggling with control issues (as I am now.)

And this is why I wanna get more into St. Francis. His wisdom is not found as much in what he wrote or thought, but by observing what he did and his interactions with others.
“Our nothingness, you see, if it is accepted, becomes a free space where God can dwell again.”
“We then discover that God alone is all powerful. God alone is all God. The one who accepts this reality and rejoices in it from the heart has found peace. God is and that suffices. Only those who accept God in this way are capable of truly accepting themselves.”
“God is and that suffices.” Perfect.

Wonderfully translated novel by French writer Eloi Lecierc. The reflections of St Francis to his Brothers really touches the heart. Francis like us hasn't always had the strongest faith and like us he struggles and seeks advice. My advice seek out this novel if you can. Get to know Francis better and change your life through simplicity.

Una historia novelada sobre san Francisco de Asís. El libro da a entender con pocas páginas el amor de Francisco a sus hermanos y a la naturaleza. También da a conocer el profundo amor que sentía al Señor y cómo la frase "Dios es" lo acompañaba en momentos difíciles.

I love St. Francis and the joy and simplicity that embodied him and his life.
This book takes a very unique perspective on the tail end of his life and looks at his inner turmoil at the state of the Order that he helped found through the medium of historical fiction.
The insight and experience gained from “walking a mile in his shoes” (or in his case, lack of shoes), was an amazing experience as the author ties in the ethos of St. Francis’s life to the practicality of emotions such as pain, disillusionment, betrayal and abandonment.
So good.

Jag läste en svensk översättning och det är eventuellt därför jag inte hade så stor behållning av den. Det är en fin historia och emellanåt öppnar sig bråddjup av visdom och livsfilosofi, men i sin helhet blir den gåtfull, rörig och svårgenomtränglig. Språket är stumt på något vis och det är svårt att förstå att den blivit en sån klassiker, men det är bara sagt utifrån denna svenska översättning. Troligen är texten mer njutbar i original.

¡Qué santo! Que importante es vaciarse de uno mismo para que pueda entrar Dios. Hemos perdido la simplicidad del alma de un niño pero San Francisco nos enseña que se puede volver ahí con la alegría de saber que Dios es, que Dios es Dios.

I love this book! It was my second time reading it and I felt like I had a deeper understanding and connection. I loved it the first time through as well but the second reading really spoke to my heart, especially Chapter 12 ❤️

Fácil de leer, ameno, profundo y con muchas enseñanzas, descripciones preciosas del paisaje, y de como en todo está Dios, de la pureza de las cosas, frases chulas.... Nunca te arrepientes de cogerlo.
