Wings and Tails: Book 3

Rate this book
Fly fast, hit hard, and take down anyone who stands in your way.

That's how I fought until my squad was grounded from carrier service. Wars have a way of dragging on, and time slows to a crawl when you can’t take to the sky and do what you do best.

But I’m not sitting idle.

I’m growing my abilities as a minder while the lovely ladies of my ever-growing clan keep me on my toes. When our time comes, my squad and I will be ready to jump back in the harness and prove why we are the best.

Familiar friends and fresh faces are ready to join us on our rise to glory, but not everyone’s excited for our return. Old enemies have resurfaced, and they’re plotting to destroy everything I love.

Danger lurks behind every corner and within every cloud. We will take them head-on, as our goal is not only to survive this war, but to end it.

I'll do whatever it takes to save my home. Failure is not an option.

After the first two books and all the interesting storytelling the plot did, this book was a massively underwhelming conclusion to the series.

The first 54% of the book are dedicated to tiny pieces of plot buried under an avalanche of sex scenes and bickering. I wish I could say I skimmed all of it, but I read through each and every tedious word of it. It's hard to say sex scenes are tedious, but when they don't seem to stop reoccurring, they are.

Upon reaching the 54% point, the plot picks back up to relevant stuff, but the bickering continues. Now I don't mind some bickering, especially since so many of the women are alpha types and almost all fighter pilots. You expect some clowning around with them. But the sheer volume of it, combined with how often it was an grossly inappropriate times, was mind boggling. The MC finally had to tell them to knock it off a few times, only for the next chapter where it starts back up again. By the end of the book, there wasn't a single harem member I liked.

Finally, the ending was pretty darned rushed to conclude the series. It would have been much better if the author cut down the first half of the book and dedicated that wasted page space to the conclusion.

I must admit that I am very disappointed by this finale volume.

I will admit that I am a bit of a perv. The main reason I read these romance/harem books is for the spice. BUUUUT, the spice must also serve the story.

In the first 2 books of this series, that was the case. There was some spice, some dog-fighting, some character building, some story. It was all very good and interesting. Especially the world building was great in this series.

This last book though just didn't follow the previous books.

The amount of spice was overwhelming. When the book suddenly went from 400 to 800 pages, I assumed the author was speeding to the end of a series...and that was certainly true.
The spice in this book went way overboard.
In these sorts of books, I usually want a spice scene every hundred pages or so. Give or take.
In this one, it's literally 500 pages of the 800 total dedicated to sex scenes. But those sex scenes also aren't very detailed or unique, so they end up a little boring.
It was just too much sex over the course of the book.
The dogfighting is amazing in this series...I just wish we got a bit more of it in this finale than we did.

Wow!

This took me a minute to read through everything, but it was a great read!
I always like when authors really develop the personalities of the love interests well. Isaac did a great job with all the characters and I felt that he did them all justice and gave them time to shine, both on their own and together as a group.
There's plenty of fun moments and serious ones that fit well with the story and the plot.
The only thing missing is James getting his own Dionian form! I definitely recommend giving this book a read, I really enjoyed it!

Big but worth the read!

This is a long one, but filled with a lot of excitement in the sky and in the main characters bed. I really wish this series didn’t end, but I’m not disappointed at all! This was a fun series to read that is unique and different from the genre. If you need a change of pace, this is it! I might have to read it again!

Good finish!

Good finish to the series. This volume felt a little rushed but it was a damn good read, lots of action and a few plot twists but overall well done ! There were long periods of waiting between volumes but each new one got an immediate snag and read
