Bekka Ja Harick, lavender witch on the world of Boad, decides to leave 20 of her magic rings behind when she travels to visit her best friend Kar on Fan Wa’s Island. She wants to practice casting spells without the temptation of using a ring. Mistake? Oh, a big one. For you see, she finds impatient Kar has left the island to travel down the Well of Shells to the planet Earth and is waiting for Bek to follow. And to make matters worse, when Bekka hurries home to collect her 20 rings, not only are the rings gone, but so is her edible cottage. Feeling powerless, nevertheless she plunges down the Well of Shells and joins Kar in the high Sierra forests of California, where with the aid of jesterbeasts (sasquatch, bigfoot) she not only recovers her rings and finds her cottage, but repairs mischief done by her wicked wand and saves a family of Earthlings, whose youngest daughter is destined to assume a great responsibility on Boad.

About the author

On my journey to becoming an elderly benign writer, I have earned a degree in Anthropology from UCLA, coached youth baseball for 25 years, enjoyed fatherhood, distributed mail for the United States Postal Service, sketched and painted and cartooned and written stories with varying degrees of success, unloaded trucks and worked in the stockrooms of a now defunct department store, jogged, and never surrendered.
