The next books of the series! How I Built a Magic Empire (Book 4): How I Built a Magic Empire (Book 5):
Rumors of a mysterious union of principalities are rife, the wild lands are restless, and Savino’s rapid growth is drawing envious eyes all around the Novgorod Empire. But, frankly, I’m more worried

“Kate, what do the red asterisks in the list mean?” “Those things needed doing yesterday.”
This is a review based off of the arc. I received this so that I could check the translation from Russian to English, and make sure that it flowed nice and smoothly for a western audience. This is a really good series. It is full of heroes, and of course villains, throw in a bunch of pretty ladies of course. Stir in controversy, and greedy aristocrats that want to steal things that do not belong to them and you have the basic plot of this series. In this one our hero the MC continues to build his town. Hunt monsters. Destroy crystals. And if that wasn't enough on the side he defeats greedy evil people aristocrats and otherwise who tried to take what he has built. At the same time his actions help protect the Empire. I'll admit that the arc it was a bit of a mess. However I sent a very long list of corrections into the publishers. Hopefully that will make this a very enjoyable read for you, but if you do find a mistake let them know they will get it fixed. I think this series gets better with every book that's printed.
I have been enjoying this series of pulp fantasy. It is published by Magic Dome Books, which specializes in bringing us Russian and Ukrainian LitRPG fantasy books. Many of them follow the same formula. A lone individual is usually thrust into a new magical world that is much like pre-revolutionary Russia with an emperor, nobles, and peasants and their accompanying snobbery and entitlements. The main character is secretly overpowered, he (almost always male) plays off the nobles' prejudices, since he is typically underestimated and much more merit-based than others. And that is the case here, where the main character inherits a plot of land on the edge of the wilderness and seeks to build a thriving town. But that all happens in the first two volumes and in this case not much new develops. The town grows, more nobles are defeated, and the potential romance is again delayed. That is typical of the genre as well: traditional gender tropes prevail with beautiful and loving and sometimes even strong female characters vying for the male's attention but, prudishly, very little develops.
I’m really enjoying reading this series but it is in need of a copy editor, especially considering this is a paid series.
I am enjoying seeing where the story is going. The side characters are not a huge focus outside of how they help or hinder the main character if that’s important to you, but I don’t mind.
Some romance teasing but nothing that goes anywhere. It seems to be mostly to demonstrate that the main character isn’t a saint.
There are good fast paced parts and good building parts. It feels a little like watching someone play civilization five.
I plan to read the next installment when it comes out and look forward to it.
I received a review copy of this book. Magic Empire book3 continues the adventures of the main character, trying to bring order to a chaotic land. Not entirely the fault of the wildlife. It's fairly entertaining, and of course, as always, new enemies abound. Did you expect anything else?
Book 3 picks up where book 2 left off and we get some great action! Monster -human hybrid secret experiments, an invasion from another country, more magic, more building, plots within plots within plots and it all comes together to make you check when exactly well be getting book 4!
A lot of the other series like this or by authors similar to this they don't take care of the enemies at all. The MC would meet somebody in the first or second book and they don't do anything about them for around eight books if that. So it's refreshing that he takes care of his enemies quickly
Wow I loved this installment. This LitRPG series is so very good. Action, adventure, terrific characters. Great characters. While the Baron, Sebastian Sharkey, is the main character, others are featured too. And their side stories are good! I’ve already preordered the next book.
Another great addition to the series! The battles are intense, the magical system keeps expanding in fascinating ways, and the character struggles feel real and engaging. Honestly, this is quickly becoming one of my favorite series—I’m totally hooked. Can’t wait for Book 4!
