Champagne Problems
Is love strong enough to overcome centuries of hatred and unshared secrets?
Sometimes someone's last words echo in your mind like a broken record. Sometimes someone's dying wish are the exact words that haunt you. Sometimes they haunt you enough to get you to go to the town you were raised to loathe, just because you wanted the truth. Because all of a sudden, there was a crack in the mirror, a missing page of the book, a silence that was screaming all too loudly.
Champagne's rivalry with Lockwood was one that went back so many generations to the point where most people don't even know how it started. And depending on the generation, they'll tell you different stories. Maybe it was a family feud. Maybe the founder of Lockwood stole the founder of
Champagne's wife. Maybe the founder of Champagne stole the founder of Lockwood's wife...or child...or cow. Maybe the whole rivalry was based on a misunderstanding. But the fact of the matter was - the people of Champagne and the people of Lockwood do not mix. They don't do business; they don't do pleasure. Zilch. Zero. Nothing.
But here, at 11 o'clock on a Tuesday night, was a boy from Lockwood and a girl from Champagne taking a walk together.
It should've been scandalous. It should've caused the whole town to wake and cause a scene. There should've been screaming and yelling. There should've been a mere force of nature to intervene and stop it.
But instead, nothing. And not the nothing their parents would've forced, but a relaxed nothing that no one would've ever guessed between a Wooder and a Champ. It almost seemed...wrong.
