With Sian in a coma, Jace is torn between looking for answers and staying by her side. Meanwhile her enemies, unaware as yet that she's been found are celebrating their good fortune. Mandy is sure that the way is now clear for her to get Jace back in her clutches and has all intentions on getting started on that right away. But soon word of Sian's return gets around and things start to unravel for some of Eden Heights most influential families.
This is the sixth book in the Eden High series by Jordan Silver. I put off reading this series because I’m not a fan of high school or college love which is also why it took me so long to read Talon’s Heart. I should’ve known after reading Talon that this wouldn’t be your ordinary high school drama. Jace Saunders is 17 years old and the star quarterback of Eden High’s football team. He is also the heir to a massive fortune and his family is the most powerful one in town. He’s also a kind and down to earth person because his parents raised him with values and integrity. Sian Claiborne is 16 years old and her dad has just been promoted so they’re leaving their small town and moving to an upscale neighborhood outside of Hollywood. She’s upset to leave her friends and start over new somewhere else. She was a cheerleader and very popular at her old school but how will she fit in at Eden High ? Her older brother Jared is excited because he lives and breathes football and Eden High has an excellent team. Her first day of school she meets Belle who has always been seen as an outcast along with her bestie, Tammy because neither of them are a size two. Sian immediately likes Belle and Tammy and even though she’ll be trying out for the cheerleading squad she isn’t impressed by the mean girls on the team. Mandy Taylor has been the queen of Eden High since she started there and she isn’t gonna let some hick steal her place. Jace dated Mandy for a little while even though everyone warned him against it but he broke things off during the summer and has no intention of getting back with her. Jace sees Sian and he instantly wants her but he waits to make sure she’s not like the other fake girls at school. When he sees that Sian has befriended Belle, Tammy, and Cassandra he knows she’s different. Jace goes to Sian’s parents first to ask permission to date their daughter and they are both impressed by his maturity. Pretty soon Jace and Sian are the new hot couple at Eden High and Mandy is green with jealousy. Mandy isn’t your ordinary teenage girl, she’s a manipulative, blackmailing viper who has a little black book filled with names of powerful men, most of whom are married that she’s screwed and extorted money from. Mandy was poor until her mom landed a much older rich man and she will do whatever it takes to make sure she’s never poor again. She set her sights on Jace because he can keep her in the lavish lifestyle she thinks she deserves. She’s delusional and believes if she can get Sian out of the picture then Jace will come back to her. Jace proposes to Sian and puts a huge rock on her finger and Mandy still doesn’t get the hint. How far will Mandy go to get rid of Sian ?
I waited and waited for all installments to come out before I bought them. For $1.99 EACH by the way, just to avoid the wait between reading each segment. Looks like that was a waste of time. I can't believe that this series is doled out in tiny little segments and just when you think you've got an enrire book to read, it is another cliffhanger. In the future I will have to wait to see if the reviews show this is just another tease before trusting that I've got a whole story. The whole thing seems like a greedy grab for way more money than a Kindle book normally costs. Very disappointed.
Oh, holy cliffhanger! What! I need series two now, godammit! I really need to see Sian and Jaces hea aswell as Mandy's demise. Please don't make me wait too long.
was not happy this book ended on a cliffhanger. This series should have ended with this book. So frustrating. I liked this series but this was just ok. Could have done without being inside Mandy's head. Too many pages spent on her and it didn't move the story forward.
Jordan Silver I adore reading your books but I frigging hate cliffhangers !!!! that being said I will continue to read your books because I do so love them but save me the stress and stop with the cliffhangers ... lol pop noise what was that ??? well what was it ??? lol
How a book about high school turned into a dark twisted pervy thing is beyond me. I don't know who was there at the end, and what did they do but it mustn't be good for our Mandy whore.
Yuck! This should have been a DNF... I really need to kick my habit of torturing myself by reading crap because I feel some sort of guilt for not finishing a story. The way this is written just reads like someone chucked together some ideas and tied them up with the cheapest thread of a yarn, the storyline tries to copy what others have come up with, only the others are much better. The editing is really really bad, I mean is it even edited? The characters are so cringe. And the cliff hangers? Stupid.. take this one for example, something cold has been placed up the protagonist's vag by her latest mysterious lover (deliberately vague so we guess who it could be) just prior to having sex, and then moments later her vag is burning so she decides to take a bath then realises someone is in her room. Then onto the next book... really? I've decided I couldn't care less,. Im not going to bother with the next book, the only reason I read this far is because it was a box set of books 1-6... now excuse me, I'm going to go bang my head on a wall and ask myself why do I not love myself enough.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
You know, I hate the name Mandy. From my own experience, and this book too. It's like the name Marissa, if you meet one, RUN. Crazy bitches. Crazy bitches that usually try to take your man.
Meh, I'm getting bored here. Sian misbehaves, Jace lays down the law. He's alpha possessive. Mean girl. I feel like this book should end in the next installment, but I see a whole new series. Sigh. Too much of a good thing....minus one star for making this longer than it needed.
I've noticed that Ms. Silver has a problem with her grammar. Big time. Most noticably with the following:
I didn't make enough notes as I read, but she has no idea when to use these words correctly. And I didn't check how many times further and farther were used correctly, but I'm not so good at that myself. However, if I were an author, I'd definitely have a proofreader EDIT THAT SHIT.
I actually really liked the series, there are some things I didn't like, but authors can't please everyone. I will say this, I do expect an author to take pride in her/his work and I do expect simple editing issues to dealt with, using the wrong word, missing words, those types of things that simply having someone read your book that way they can be caught before publishing. Can't wait to see the outcome of all those involved.
But is it really the end!? Talk about a cliffhanger! Just when you think things are starting to make sense and maybe get better, everything goes positively haywire!
The drama continues, yes Sian and Jace story is on going along with their friends. All evil roads lead back to Mandy. Pay back is at hand, will it be enough? Part 2 is next, I guess we will see.
Boy howdy, all kinds of revelations (well more like clues), but still, HUGE stuff going on at Eden High. Fab characters, a great plot and good writing. Great story Jordan Silver!
With Sian in a coma, Jace is stationed at the hospital. His inner monologue for Sian and his past, is just perfect (and holds a lot of questions, that I’m sure will be answered in the next installment). He’s begging her to come back to him, holding onto her, promising her anything. Something has broken in Jace. Not knowing, the waiting, the absolute helplessness has made Jace shed his control and his possessiveness and obsessive nature has grown ten-fold.
Sian’s attack and the possible consequences have pushed Jared to lay down his claim on Belle. He is giving her a week to sort out her head and be HIS.
“I’m no longer willing to put my life on hold because you’ve got hang-ups that don’t have anything to do with me.” Even Tammy, very surprising for her character, has taken the bull by the horn, despite all her insecurities (which may I add, Shane took care of VERY Well!) has given herself to Shane. So HOT!
The alpha sweetness these guys project is just so yummy and steamy at the same time! All three of the men are rallying around. It’s about keeping their women safe. It’s the basic instinct of a man to protect what belongs to him! Jace is sure Mandy is behind this, and she has crossed the line! Mandy has lost the plot now, and is scared of what Sian may reveal when she is awake. Shes made too many enemies in her haste and her true nature has fallen out on front of some. SO horrible... UGH!
People are not happy, and someone is going to take the SHOT.
This is a well written book. I was a little disappointed that it seems to be rushed and abrupt. The sexy times were hot can't fault that. It is a little unbelievable that Sian's parents would let her leave the hospital and go stay with Jace. Just saying parents don't work like that. The end of the book was definitely rushed and cliffhangers are the pits.
Disclaimer.... I am a fan of JS and over look typos and such because it doesn't bother me...(I read somewhere that was a big turn off for the book) Pfff ! If I enjoy the story I'll read it!
Each book is a little section of story and I almost didn't buy it because I'm addicted and I knew one book wouldn't be enough.. And I was right, but anyway... Great read, love the story line and can't wait to see who the culprit it is!
OMG! This series is so hard to put down when you start reading. This on ed ended on such a cliffhanger that it will seem like forever waiting for the next release. You definitely have a way of writing. I'm not usually I interested in high school stories but this is really good.
