Lara thought she’d found peace when she walked away from everything three weeks ago—her cheating ex, her best friend, and the shattered remnants of her heart. In the quiet town of Darklane, surrounded by the endless woods, she finally found the solitude she craved, free from the painful reminders of betrayal.
No one knows where she is. No one comes to visit. And Lara never has to face her past.
But one night, everything changes.
At midnight, someone knocks on her door. Once. Twice. Then, the sound becomes a haunting, relentless rhythm that pulls her from the safety she built.
She doesn’t know him. She’s never seen his face. But every knock makes her feel something she hasn’t felt in years—a pull, a longing, a need to know what lies behind it.
She thought running away would keep her safe. But some desires are too dangerous to escape.

I borrowed this short book through my Kindle Unlimited subscription and read it on both my phone and tablet using the Kindle app.
It is true that the author warns you at the beginning about the multiple trigger warnings for this short novella. Despite that, I decided to give it a go. After reading it on the plane back from a long weekend at the beach, my feelings about it are quite mixed.
This is a story that treads dangerously between the stalking situation of a girl and her strange submission to it. Honestly, the story is not very believable, and given the world we live in today, I find it difficult to believe that the story will have many fans.
But you are advised: read the blurb, read the trigger warnings, and if this is still your cup of tea, give it a go.
Wow just wow I have no words for this short novella!! At first I thought shit she was in danger, like real danger. Then when you learn actually what was happening, it was sweet and lovely. The fact that she learnt all over again that she could be happy, that someone was always there in the shadows and cared about her. She may not have noticed that he was there, but not matter what he was and he never gave up. And he gave her that time she needed to realise what she wanted, and that she could be happy with him even though he did scare her at the start. Which it would have scared me.
This story had such an eerie, captivating setup that hooked me right away. I loved the creeping tension of Lara’s solitude being interrupted by something she both feared and couldn’t resist. The mix of betrayal, longing, and danger gave it that haunting edge I enjoy in dark romance. While it follows a familiar stalker-trope arc, I still found myself drawn in by the atmosphere and the push-pull between safety and desire. A quick, unsettling, and compelling read.
I can say I didn't like this story at all. I didn't like either character. I felt there wasn't enough of a back story for either character. It could have been good if it didn't feel like it had been rushed with no passion in the writing. Carbon copy chapters do not hold a reader's interest. Plus I felt the stalking was way to psychotic. What woman in there right mind would fall for a guy like that. A weak no self-esteem woman maybe. This story was frightening to me. This is the 3rd book that I've read from this author and I'm starting to feel disappointed that she will never be able to write a good book. Read it yourself and form your own opinion, it takes only two hours to read it.
It was actually more of a 3 star for me, the first half of this short story was weirdly boring and repetitive, as if the same scene, described in short sentences, was happening again and again. Only once the stalker was revealed and spice added, the narrative changed in style and became a bit more entertaining. Overall, if you like quick read with rather simplistic storyline and a bit of spice, this one is for you.
Creepy Dark Stalker Romance 'Claimed In Silence' has a very interesting antihero. He was complex, creepy, and extremely determined. A great example of someone struggling with erotomania (a subtype of a delusional disorder listed in the DSM-5). I like the ending, though. ;)
Despite this being a short book, I loved! The way the FMC grew to love her stalker and finding out who the MMC is was the cherry on top. Smut was so good!
If you’re looking for a dark, delicious read you can devour in one sitting, Claimed in Silence by Shalini Sharma is your next obsession.
This is a perfect example of a story expertly crafted in packing a powerful emotional punch into a short story. As a fellow writer, I know how difficult that is—Shalini Sharma doesn't just get it, she excels at it.
While there were a few minor continuity bumps, they did nothing to derail the sheer, addictive satisfaction of this tale. Top notch. A++. Highly recommend.
If you’re looking for a quick read or just starting your dip your toes into dark romance then this book is for you.it may only be about 80 pages but within that frame you get a full plot and character growth and all around an enjoyable read🖤
And the ones who see the most. When Lara thought no one saw her, her stalker did. Way before she knew she had a stalker. Once she lets go of the past she sees him to.
Our stalker wants Lara. Has wanted her for years but never allowed himself to have her. Until now. And now that he has had a taste of her there is no going back for him. We love a morally grey man who falls first and hard. And our MMC is ready to claim. Through night time touches and years worth of unsent letters, Lara finds out just how much her past is willing to claim her even when it gets blood on its hands.
Well this was one to remember. A dark stalker romance where I have to say I didn't like either character.
Claimed in Silence follows Lara, a young woman who had found comfort after walking away from her cheating ex partner and home three weeks ago. In a town called Darklane, surrounded by the endless woods Lara is finally at peace but when she begins receiving anonymous letters, notes and knocks at her door she begins to wonder just how safe she is and why she may even like this attention.
I have read a couple of stalker romances and when done right they can be really enjoyable to read however, for me this one just didn't quite hit the spot. Lara's backstory was very basic and lacked depth and because of that we didn't get much character development or much of an understanding of who she is making it hard to connect with her and the story. This of course, was a novella and so things did move very quickly but it just felt as though so much of what we got was very repetitive and if a few of those scenes had been changed we could have swapped out identical chapters for something fresh to add to the story and character.
The smut was very basic and actually minimal for a dark romance and didn't help in actually making me fall for these two as a potential romantic relationship. There was no chemistry written and by the end of the book I actually felt as though this wasn't a romance but instead something exciting for Lara to be apart of and a distraction, something she would grow out of. The reveal at the end was lacklustre and disappointing and actually made me dislike the story more.
It was a quick read with some fun moments but overall I just didn't click with this book.
If you're looking for a quick, satisfying dark read... look no further. Lara is a woman who suffered one of the worst betrayals imaginable, and as a result has retreated to a quiet life. But every night there is a kncok at her door and a taunting message from her devoted stalker. Watching her navigate the initial fear and then, when her mystery man starts visiting her bedroom at night, seeing it morph into a tentative hunger for the danger he represents was fun. The author managed to convey a lot of emotions convincingly across a very small page count. This first installment had a HEA with no cliffhanger, always a bonus.
There were some continuity issues. In the prologue, Lara remarks how her nighttime visitor never left a note, but at nearly every nightly encounter (including that first one) he DOES leave her notes. Oodles & oodles of notes. At one point Lara's home is described as an apartment, even making mention of the flickering light in the hallway outside. Yet later its talked about as a house with a front porch and yard. In a novella this short, such continuity issues really stood out to me.
Regardless, I'm curious to see where the second part of this duet takes us.

This book takes the stalker romance trope and delivers a dark, quick, and addictive read. The story of Lara and her morally grey admirer is unsettling yet compelling, with years of obsession finally surfacing. While the setting is simple and the pacing short, it still manages to keep you hooked with its tension and emotional pull. Not the darkest romance out there, but definitely entertaining and worth picking up if you enjoy possessive heroes and fast reads.
This book hooked grabbed my attention. I felt Lara’s pain and loneliness, and the atmosphere of Darklane was so vivid it almost felt like a character itself. The midnight knocking gave me chills. I couldn’t put it down because I just had to know who was at her door and what it all meant.
It’s suspenseful, emotional, and a little unsettling in the best way. If you like stories that mix mystery, romance, and a touch of danger, this book is for you. I finished it in one sitting!
Unexpected and engaging I was expecting a typical stalker gore fest but was delightfully surprized to find myself enthusiastically flipping through the pages of what turned out to be a love story. A love story with deep layers of healing, resilience, and overcoming. I don't want to give away any of the content or the ending but this book surprized me in many ways. I also found the intimate scenes quite well written and compelling. Worth a read
Claimed in Silence has an interesting and intense storyline, with plenty of dark, emotional twists that keep you turning the pages. The chemistry between the characters is undeniable, and the suspense element adds depth. However, some parts felt rushed, and the emotional development could have been explored more deeply. While the story has potential and a gripping premise, it didn’t fully connect with me the way I’d hoped. Still, fans of dark romance may find it an engaging read.
Listen it’s 81 pages you get what you get. The book was just okay. I do feel like this would’ve have been great as a full length book, just to get more. Just to get more backstory. This would have been great as a slow burn, coming from someone who hates slow burns. I just keep excepting more from this book and I don’t know if that’s good or bad. Read at your own feel will
This book definitely sits on the darker side of romance. The way the relationship grows pushes boundaries and explores dynamics that some readers might find taboo or even kinky. If you enjoy a blend of intensity, tension, and shadowy passion, this one delivers. It’s not lighthearted; more of a raw, edgy story that thrives in its darkness.
The first 40% was really good, I enjoyed the writing and suspense and short chapters. But after the reveal it felt like there was no chemistry between the characters and the history between them didn’t make sense to me. The dialogue was super cringey too, especially the dirty talk
Personally I did not like the third person writing. The book was Oke. It was short which I liked but that did also mean that it missed a lot. The backstory made no sense. I still don’t fully understand. It could have been a better book if had had been longer.
This was a different kind of book. It’s one setting with a reoccurring scene. I’m not sure what really what I think. Honestly I’m stuck on how this is continued since there was a weird but definite HEA. It’s short so if you need a bed time story it works.
Claimed in Silence I was totally into it 10% in but then it just felt too rushed. There could have been a lot more done with this but it felt a lot more like a watpad story than a book. It had the bones to be a really good stalker romance book if it were just..more.
This book was okay. Im not a big fan of third person but i tried to look past that. I feel like there’s a lot more story that could’ve been added to it.
