Damn good!

I can only reiterate my header: damn good read! I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this story and I hope there will soon be a book 4 of the Nolan adventures! "Original Sin" was mind blowing, incomprehensible and tragic all at the same time, even while taking us back in time to the law school days of Hal and Christina along the way. Don't miss this one! It's not one you can put down once you start!

Hal and Kristina face the most important case in their careers. Hal's usual courtroom antics don't seem to be working and Kristina is prohibited from participating as a lawyer because she's the defendant. The background story from 9 years ago provides insight into the Nolans' personalities and motivation. The dual time line works well in advancing the plot. I hope we haven't heard the last of Hal and Kristina.

So good I was sad when it ended

Larry Winters has written legal thrillers with fully drawn, empathetic characters. I have really enjoyed the love story of Hal and Kristina that is believable and heartwarming. I look forward to being blessed with more novels from this exciting writer.

I’ve enjoyed all of Larry Winters’ books, the Jesse Black series(hate that I’m almost finished with them), and now the last of the Hal and Kristina series. This one about knocked my socks off it was that good and somehow made me actually begin to like Hal. You’re gonna have to write faster, Larry I am loving your books.

I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

This story begins with the arrest of Kristina for murder. As the story progresses Hal comes to the realization that an individual that had locked their computers and bled them dry was involved with the evidence implicating Kristina. Once Hal realized who the victim was planned a way to clear Kristina, but doing so would wind up destroying them and Krintina made Hal promise not to bring it up.

The story flashes back 9 and 1/2 years ago when the two were just law students. Both of them were having trouble getting internships with a law firm. Hal eventually took one where he wasn't getting paid. One of the cases that Hal was involved with was a custody fight where the divorced husband wanted sole custody of their daughter. As the trial was proceeding, Hal got Kristina to work with the same lawyer and not be paid like Hal. Read what sort of activity the two performed in order to win Della, the wife, custody of her daughter.

Getting back to the present time, Follow Hal as he tries to create doubt with the jury regarding the prosecutions case. Discover how the 1st case that Hal and Kristina did plays a role in the trial and what an unexpected witness told as the trial was coming to an end.

The ending will leave you wondering whether this is the end of the series or where will it lead to next. I guess we will have to wait till later to find out.

I've now read all of Larry Winters' books, and Original Sin is another outstanding addition to his collection. Winters has a gift for telling a compelling story with characters that feel authentic and dialogue that flows naturally. His writing is clear, engaging, and easy to read, making it difficult to put the book down once you get started.

What I appreciate most about Larry Winters' novels is that they combine an intriguing plot with believable legal and ethical issues. Original Sin keeps the reader guessing while never sacrificing character development or thoughtful storytelling.

As someone who has enjoyed every one of his books, I can confidently recommend Original Sin to anyone who enjoys well-written legal thrillers and intelligent suspense. Larry Winters continues to prove that he is an exceptional storyteller, and I look forward to whatever he writes next.

Original Sin - a review by Rosemary Kenny.

A terrific legal thriller from Larry A Winters, Original Sin centres around lawyers Hal and Kristina Nolan. A case they were involved in as law students 9 years ago, crops up to haunt them, now they've been targeted by a different/vengeful former client. She's using their old secret, (and her own IT hacking skills) to ruin their lives - as Kristina is framed for murder.
Desperate, Hal does what he can to prove her innocence and protect Kristina, calling in favours from all sides to do so.
The result kept yours truly on the edge of my seat and reading non-stop, as it was that unputdownable.

Grab a copy as soon as you can - and make sure your cyber-security is up to date too...Original Sin will make it clear why!

Another "fun to read" Nolan Law Firm installment.
I'm not sure where to begin on this one. I love the Nolan Series, first off. I can't imagine anyone who doesn't. These two are very easy to read, their banter is so much fun, and the storyline is always exciting...but, realistic.
Be prepared with this one.... This book is extremely hard to put down, it's full of twists and turns that'll keep you guessing throughout.
As with all his books, I highly recommend it. I've followed and read every one of them & have never been disappointed....and, personally, I think this might be the best so far.
Enjoy.....

Excellent Story

I will miss Hal and Kristina Nolan, criminal defense lawyers extraordinaire! It’s an excellent series. I wasn’t sure I could read this third edition in the series after Kristina was incarcerated. But Hal finds her a bodyguard, who provides Kristina protection, and who also plans to kick Hal’s butt at her first opportunity. Hal keeps things interesting, and in the end, the two of them find a way to make things right. I would love to read about their adventures as Tiki Bar owners.

A Wowzer!

A Hal & Kristina Nolan Legal Thriller that just takes the cake! Will there be more? Who knows. I hope so. If you have been following this series, this is a must read…so many loose ends are tied-up. Most intriguing, very satisfying, well-written. I want more! I am delighted to have had the opportunity to read and offer my honest and voluntary review.

This is the third one in the series and I loved them all.

I couldn't put this book down. I love their first two books but this one blew me away. Do yourself a huge favor read the other two and then come back and read this one. And be prepared to not be able to put it down. I stayed up half the night to finish it.

Larry A. Winters has accomplished something that eludes a lot of authors, he has written a series where each new book is spectacularly better than the previous one. How long can he continue to do this? As long as there are readers who demand excellence. He will not let us down.

Finally a good and I mean GOOD book with humor and substance all in one. I could hardly put it down at my (self inflicted) Midnight curfew. I’m going to the next one and see if Winters can beat this one????

amazing

Hal and Kristina go back to when they met and worked free as law students for a lawyer barely making it with no resources and not much hope. They made a mistake they couldn’t forget and this mistake follows them to their current day and career.
Amazing book!!!!

I don’t have the words for this

How can I have moved from hating the Nolans just 3 short but brilliant books ago to rooting for them in every (well almost) page? I can’t tell you without several spoilers. You’re just gonna have to read the books to find out!

Outstanding Series!

I love the Hal and Kristina Nolan series. This third book in particular, gives a background on how they met and formed their law firm. Hal is such a hoot and I can say you will love this series!

This is a very gripping novel, with enough Flashbacks to give you a sense of how it started. The way it ended, sort of reminded me of how things would be after an EMP blast, and putting the world back to the way it was before Technology was invented.

I was a little disappointed in Original Sin. The ending was actually somewhat strange. Not sure where the next book in the series is headed.
