It’s hard to be committed to anyone when you don’t know whom to trust.

Alexis Toles, a former FBI agent turned undercover CIA agent, is quickly finding that out in Nancy Ann Healy’s newest political thriller, Commitment.

Alex embeds in a secret organization of intelligence operatives known as The Collaborative. Its partners include operatives from the CIA, National Security Agency, FBI, US Department of Defense, and an entanglement of foreign intelligence agencies.

It’s about half a year after the death of President John Merrow, a friend and someone she respected. But she remains committed to overthrowing The Collaborative as she works with a onetime adversary who believes the organization’s involved in the president’s death.

Meanwhile Alex; her wife, Cassidy O’Brien; and Cassidy’s son try hard to live as a family but must first overcome personal struggles, including a nasty custody battle with Cassidy’s ex-husband, Congressman Christopher O’Brien. The family has their own share of secrets that, if unleashed, could affect their hopes for the future.

There’s no place to turn without discovering people who are not who they claim to be. That can’t stop Alex. She must remain committed to the cause, both at home and as she works against The Collaborative.

I like reading the books but once the audios came out and I actually like the narrator, I tend to listen more than read just because listening is legal while driving a car :) Anyway, this is another great installment in the series and though I know I am behind, I can't wait to continue listening to what happens to Cassidy and Alex and everyone else.

No idea!

I got nothing? How do you describe one of the best books you've ever read including the classics? If this book has any amount of truth and not just fiction be afraid be very afraid. The writing talent of this author is outstanding. Just when you think you understand, she throws another wrench into the works. Think James Bond/Jason Bourne mixed with love, humour and family. I can't praise it enough. You're entrapped in a world of mystery and you just can't put it down because there are more questions than answers. I off to read number four. Have fun. My brain is about to explode if I don't find answers soon.

I am in LOVE with this series. The books are part mystery, intrigue, spy thriller and love story. They are so well written and the dialogue, what can I say when the author allows you to finish the characters sentences as you know them so well. Nancy Ann Healy takes her time to fully flesh out each main character. You become enmeshed in their lives. There is a lot of intense action and thrilling rides in the series. As I am writing this my other hand is reaching for the next book in this series. You cannot go wrong picking up this book.

what a twist!

Spicy 0.5

What an ending! I did foresee most twists and turns, but that last one. Phew!

I continue to marvel at Cassidy and Alex’s relationship. Envious of fictional characters.

I can’t wait to see what’s to come in Book 4.

What a series. Long story with much detail about the dynamics among Alexis, Cassidy, and Dylan. Information and insight is provided about the "bad guys" who ever they may be. Not as much "I love you forever" lines which I think is a good thing. What a group of interesting characters. In particular, the moms, the kids, and family friends. On the other hand, the Collaboratives, look forward to reading more about them and their "leader" in the next installment. Claire...WOW, what an intriguing secondary character. Cannot wait to read about what she does next.

I'm loving this series!

I still wish that I'd read this series prior to the By Design series, but I'm able to really appreciate how and where these characters originated. I really enjoy the suspense and thrills that aren't in the other series because it's a different energy with Alex's career and life. I'm not sure if I missed these, but what happened with Cassidy's house, and where did the name "Pip" come from?

Thrilling!

This is an outstanding series about secret services, conspiracy, betrayal, friendship, love and family. There is so much going on in the world of secret services - and what frightened the most, it could be real.

Healy has a fantastic way to mix a romance with a thriller. The love story of Cassidy and Alex is wonderful. There is much chemistry between the two of them and you can feel, how much they love each other. It is beautiful, romantic and humorous to follow Cass and Alex and how they build and grow their family. I also very much loved Dylan, their son.

On the other side, it is exciting and frightening to follow everything what is going on in the thriller part. Sometimes it’s hard to follow on who is who and who is playing for which group in this whole world of agencies, spies and conspiracy. Every time you think you have understood there is coming another twist and turn. Often I just wondered, how the author could have the ongoing story under control. Fantastic work.

And despite all the cruel and bad that was going on, Healy found the time to show the good things too. I loved the time I spent with the family of Cass and Alex. How the two are act together and with their children was amazing. I really fell in love with both women and their mothers.

And there are all the second characters, and there are many of them. Some despicable, some loveable and some an enigma. One of the most intriguing characters is Claire. You can feel there is more as the reckless bitch she is showing, but what?

I recommend to read this series in more or less one flow, so you can’t forget who is who. There are so many people and agencies involved, it is not easy to follow them otherwise.
My rating 4,5 stars.

Intriguing!

The amazing saga of Alex and Cassidy continues in this third well written story of their lives and all of the peripheral activities surrounding their lives. Poised smack in the middle of international espionage, Alex has to try to balance her professional life and the restructuring of her father's company with the demands of home life and Cassidy's pregnancy. Things are not as they seem and there are more secrets than anyone can imagine. Every book in this series has drawn me in deeper into the intriguing lives of Alex and Cassidy. This book should be added to your must-read list.

This one's a doozy

Hol-ey crap what a ride, and that little tidbit at the end? Never would have guessed it in a million years.

This book is even better than the first one, and I cannot wait to start the next one.

Romance, intrigue, deception, family, betrayal, murder, heartache, love, secrets - - - this one has it all.

This also feeds my pet peeve, which is a book we'll written and properly edited. Very little to find wrong on that front.

Definitely recommend the whole series, because now, I can't not find out how it ends.

I am still amazed at how it wrapped up, and I am rarely surprised by an ending. You will love it.

Mind boggling!

Oh, such intrigue and espionage! The writing is sooo good, but my little pea brain is having a hard time keeping up with all the people and the agencies. Just when I think I have something figured out, BAM! Another twist!

On the flip side is the wonderful commitment between Alex, Cassidy and young Dylan as they grow their family together. The love just pours off the pages.

But, oh my gosh, wait until you read this epilogue!!! Just bring on the next book! STAT!!!

Gathering Storms

Alex Toles is now at the CIA working with some her trusts but more that she doesn’t. Every intelligence agency is involved in the fight against The Collaborative, a group of individuals who control the world. A decades long conspiracy involving all countries, businesses, and commerce. Tension filled and betrayal and deadly situations in every chapter. Magnificent series with talented author.

A great mystery, thriller and love story!

If you’re a fan of the By Design series, you will love the Alex and Cassidy series
even more. Ms. Healy has created several strong, intelligent women and men who are connected due to a collaborative begun by their parents and grandparents. It is a whole world starring amazing women who love women. Join the adventure by reading both series.

Just finished this book. So far this series is very true to life. The characters are so in tune with each other. I have read all of the By Design series and really enjoyed them. Can't wait to finish Conspiracy. Good reads so far. Ms Healy has a way to draw you in. Loved all these books so far.

riveting

This series keeps getting better. It doesn’t matter what name Nancy Ann Healy writes under, I can’t put the book down until I have finished it. Suspense, humor, romance, intrigue, compassion and lots more, masterfully woven into a wonderful story.

phew

Each book continues to get both more interesting and confusing at the same time. In one chapter you can go from edge of your seat to sweet and mushy with everything in between. Ok, onto book 4…

a new chapter—not as straightforward

I’m still confused about the collaborative. Who is running it and for what ultimate purpose. Just to make money or change the world. Or both. Is probably the best answer

What a story!!!

Wow... This has been a roller coaster ride. So many ups and downs. So much as been revealed in the story regarding each character. I love the relationship between Alex and Cassidy and Dylan. Love hat the family is becoming a unit and Cassidy finding out she has a brother was interesting. But the shock came at he end, with the revelation about O'Brien and Cassidy's father. On to he next.....

So the tension mounts, different players seem to have agendas different to previously pressumed and the love between Alex & Cassidy grows along with a new addition......these books keep getting better and the things parents do to either lead their children to that parent's goal or to protect them is not so crazy .........on to the next one!

Edge of my seat

I read this book trying to think just where the heck it was going and was shocked at the ending. Never did I suspect HIM. This series of books just took a major turn and I can't imagine where it will go from here. What is left? How many more surprises can there be? I regret the writer did not take the golden opportunity to redeem Claire. She would have been a great asset. A couple of times Claire has stolen the show. Give her a heart and the one person who can reach it, Elena. That could have major benefits. And stop using Claire as a slut. She is smart, strong, and she does love Elena. The writer wasted a great chance here. Come on. Redeem Claire and let someone finally love the poor girl. On to book 4.
