One town. A horde of zombies. And the man forced to let them in.Sam Williams barely survived a brutal experiment involving man-made zombies—and now, the very organization behind it wants him to join their cause. He agrees, but only to sabotage them from within.
Tasked with running a zombie apocalypse simulation in a small, unsuspecting town, Sam’s resolve is tested as the horror unfolds. Each life lost makes him question how much he’s willing to sacrifice—and whether the cost is too high.
As the stakes grow, Sam risks everything to save as many as he can. But can he escape the crushing guilt of all those lost?
Raw, but not gory, though plenty of blood and sensory details are provided. The second book of a series, but the author masterfully planted exposition that made the story totally accessible even without reading the first book. This book reads as a twisted variant of the trolley problem to me. As hectic as it is intriguing, you want to know if Sam (the main character) will succeed, and if there is something more to the experiment he signed up for from the first paragraphs (at least I did). The story of a pawned promoted player, yet stuck in between. Looking forward to knowing what happens next.
If I had to sum up this book in one word it would be INTENSE! I enjoyed the first book in this series, and the second one is even better. Continually rooting for Sam, I found myself reading well into the night and finishing with my morning coffee. For anyone looking for a novel with a lot of action and heart, I would totally recommend!
