Genuinely giggling bc the height diff is diabolical. Like- unnecessarily so- I keep screenshotting for drawing ref but at the same time the anatomy is... yeah. I love the way the artist draws eyes tho *o*

Fairly entertaining so far, the ML's entire existence is highly unrealistic but that's pretty much expected for a story like this so... but I feel like the FL's character was written really well. For how unrealistic the ML is, the FL honestly makes up for it. Her dealing with living with her cheating husband/ex seemed fairly realistic and it made me saddddd :(

(I have no idea how many chapters are in each volume as I can't find it anywhere but assuming it has around 60 [at least in English, I think] so I'm assuming each of the 4 books have around 15 chapters)

Stopped at around 70+ chapters. At first, the tension and slowburn has such a really good grip but then as the story goes on, it's getting stretched too much that reading it feels like a chore. Boo.

I love this, I hate this.
I certainly need more clarity about what the hell is really happening.

Note: I read the Webtoon-censored version of this series before knowing that it wasn’t the full original story, so my reading experience is probably a little different than most.

You know those Reddit AITA posts? This series would be deemed as “everyone sucks.” Like obviously the husband is a douchebag and a cheater, but the FMC is technically cheating on him too (though she’s more “justified” per se). She’s so boring, can’t stand up for herself, and keeps using the “oh, I’m so old; you can’t possibly like me” line that it gets old very quickly. The MMC is just a placeholder character for any hot, buff guy in manhwas with no personality but liking older women. Like wth does this guy even do in his free time? Does he have a job? Hobbjes? Friends? No one knows.

I didn’t actually recognize the controversy around this series until I saw it online. I guess that I’ve been so accustomed to reading manga and manhwa with over-sexualized and unrealistic body types and heights that it didn’t register that this series is the epitome of this sexualization art style. Seeing the edits that people do online to fix this problem with screen shots from this series is so funny lolll. Like damn, how does this girl have no back pain with triple H cups???

Anyways, I stopped reading because I got bored. Nothing happened for the many chapters that I somehow sat through. Bro still works at that convenience store, this random 20 year old likes to chase her, and her husband likes cheating on her. Boringgggg.

I’ve enjoyed reading through the first episodes as part of this series, Volume 1 covers episodes 1 - 13. I do feel like there are some repeated parts within this, but I feel like perhaps that may be needed for the story telling.

I’m looking forward to continuing this as it seems like there is a lot to come and hopefully, some more drama in relation to the developing storyline too!

My guess is that the author changed the main storyline where Haeso would reconcile with her ex husband because the readers took a liking of Taeha. The art is incredible, but all the females protagonists look the same.

I despise Taeha because he is worse than her ex. He manipulated her, stalked her, dismissed her feelings after they were intimate, he meddle in her work and her ex husband's job. He is completely dishonest since the beginning. The worse is that he is rich and she is working to the bone and could not pay her bills. I am tired of the trope of the innocent heroine. The author dumb down the Fl so much thatI believe that she probably has mental problems.

The age gap is no problem but I believe that they have met when Haeso was an adult and Taeha was a child, he was in the hospital. I believe that is how they met.

edit: (chapter 88 spoilers) bringing the rating down because kissing and having sex with the blood of men who trafficked the girlfriend is disgusting. also the writing is repetitive and boring and there's no character development almost 100 chapters in.

not only that, the story relies heavily on the miscommunication trope, keeps undercutting pivotal relationship moments to jump cut to the rat bastard cheating ex who has NOTHING else to offer to the story, and pads the story with meaningless purple prose. also it pisses me off that a divorced woman in her 30's living paycheck to paycheck has no sense of self-preservation and constantly does things to endanger herself, whether it's not accepting severance pay or walking down dark alleyways. dumb, basic, and forgettable but hot k-drama trash is all this series is.

----

for this volume, the narrative is extremely slow, meandering, and repetitive. i like the fmc when she speaks to taeha because she's reasonable and actually talks like 33y/o but i hate that in every other scenario, she has the personality of a wet towel. it almost feels like they make her all about the boulders attached to her stick figure chest. maybe it's because some of the other pov is from her dirtbag cheater husband's pov—and that's not a spoiler. it's in the synopsis and every marketing ad. i wish the fmc would stand up for herself but, because of her meek disposition, it's predictable where things are leading up to.

this also has all of the tropes of a k-drama including refrigerator-built men, fighting, stalking, creepy men, etc. i'm further in now and there's a lot of miscommunication and withholding unnecessary information to keep people reading. the mystery has faded for me and it's getting annoying. the narrative has the same cycle of people getting insecure and assuming things with nothing being resolved. another case of "everybody needs therapy, not a relationship" but it's an entertaining, dramatic soap opera though easily forgettable. ymmv.
