Ethan's life is going better than he ever could've imagined. He has a beautiful boyfriend that treats him well. He has a job that he doesn't hate. Most importantly, he has friends that care deeply about him that he loves. But all of these things can't prevent the demons from his past from resurfacing at night.
Cody never thought he would mesh so well with someone as wild as Ethan. Along with a job that he is passionate about, his life truly couldn't be better. But one thing is stopping it from being Ethan isn't himself anymore.
When Ethan starts receiving mysterious text messages and seeing things that aren't there, he begins to wonder if he is going crazy, or if his past is finally coming back to haunt him. Will Cody still love him when he finds out the truth? Will his past derail all of the progress he has made over the years? Find out in book two of the Less is More series!
*All books in the series can be read as stand alone experiences, but it is highly recommended to begin with Breathless for the introduction to all characters in later books.
I can't for one second believe that the high reviews are real. They've got to be from friends of the author. Not only are there multiple grammatical errors but the way the twin sister of a MC who is the survivor of domestic abuse, who suffers from PTSD and anxiety speaks to him tells me that this author has no clue about the issues! You don't say that to someone you love! People who suffer from anxiety CANNOT just stop it and by telling him that no one wants to be with someone with anxiety would actually make his anxiety and depression WORSE!!! I will not ever read this author again!!
Blurb: `“I snap a picture and realize that this is the first time I’ve seen him this excited about something as small as catching a fish. This is the first time I’ve seen him not have a care about anything in the world. In this moment, he’s fearless, and I’m in love.”
Ethan Alexander has finally found the love of his life in Cody Monroe: the muscled nurse who, by all accounts, is exactly what Ethan deserves in his life. As much as he tries, though, he can't let go of his past.
Still haunted by nightmares of past abuse and manipulation from his ex, Rick, Ethan spends most nights moving from the bed to the couch. Cody knows there is nothing he can do but be there for him. Finding Ethan on the couch in the mornings isn't helping him believe that things are as OK as Ethan wants him to believe.
When Ethan starts receiving strange text messages and seeing things that aren't there, the nightmares become a reality and neither Ethan nor Cody are prepared for what comes next.
Trigger Warnings: Domestic Abuse, mental and physical abuse, PTSD
I am so glad that more and more authors are taking the time to write books about this very serious subject matter. Domestic abuse does not know genders. It happens whether you are a man or a woman and it is something that too many people go through, sadly enough.
Ethan is the main character that was abused by his partner. After three years of it he finally got the courage to leave and start a new life. But the thing is just because someone is able to get out of the situation, that does not mean that the long lasting affects do not follow you, as Ethan very well knows.
Ethan has done what he could to put his past behind him and he has done a god job at it because he met Cody and was able to let him into his life. The only problem is one: he has not told Cody about everything in his past with Rick and Two: it seems that Rick has come back to finish the job he started when they was still together.
Cody is amazing in the aspect that not only does he support Ethan when Ethan opens up to him but he also vows to protect Ethan from the abusive man that took Ethan for granted and he also vows to love Ethan for as long as Ethan will allow him too.
When the danger increases and it seems that the person behind it is not going to stop, Ethan's family and friends stand behind him and Cody and try to offer up as much support as they can. Will it be enough or will Rick be able to get his claws in Ethan again and finish what was started when they got together.
This was not an easy read because of the subject matter but I am so glad that I read it. It was sad and scared but at the same time it is nice to see that Ethan was able to move past the trauma of the past and find a new healthier life for himself.
Was given this galley copy for free for an open and honest review
I loved, loved, loved, loved Fearless. There aren't a lot of reviews for this yet, so I thought i'd share my opinion of it. The author has improved a good bit since Breathless, I think, with this one. This book has Cody, who I think is absolutely amazing...and delicious. He would do anything for Ethan, and a lot of us will never find that in our lifetime. Ethan is beautifully damaged, and I loved that. Reading some of the things about his ex was sad and depressing, and the fact that Ethan was able to move past it made me love him even more.
The "steamy fun" is a lot better than in the first one, too. The camping scene, specifically, is very very nice. I loved every minute of it. Fearless is also hilarious and had me catching my breath at times. Ethan and Hadley are a riot when they're together, and I would love to know more about Hadley if the opportunity ever came. The funniest part for me, though, is the halloween party. That whole chapter is my favorite and it just showed a side to both characters that was fun and free.
The only thing I didn't care for was the ending. One, because the book ended. Two, because it felt a bit weak and rushed.
Overall, I can't recommend this book enough. I hope the author writes more about the other characters, because I love these gorgeous men, their drama, and all the fun they have with each other.
Everyone has a history and some are filled with complications and hard feelings. When threats turn into attacks saving yourself and others takes precedence. Family and friends are supportive while relationships deepen.
With some editing corrections book would be perfect.
Received first 2 books free through book club giveaway and first time reading this author. I was invested in these stories and enjoyed them both. I liked the 2nd book slightly better as there was a little more angst to the story. Characters from first book make appearances in 2nd book but each can be read as standalones but are enjoyed better if read in order. I will read book 3 sometime down the road but not because I didn't like this series but rather because I have too many books in my tbr pile waiting their turn. I recommend reading this series.
