WHEN THERAPIST CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY GOES TO KILLER LENGTHS...
After Audrey's sister went missing, she became a passionate therapist helping others heal from traumatic experiences. We all have a past, and nobody is beyond helping. At least, that is what Audrey thinks, until she meets her most difficult client yet. This client will cause her to question everything she knows about her craft, how people change, and how far she's willing to go to help another human being heal. Told from the perspective of both Audrey and her client, she is caught in a cat-and-mouse game, but the clock is ticking.
I loved this thriller. A Serial killer trying to get therapy! I really enjoyed the ending and I believed I even gasped at one point. I am not sure who recommended this book to me but I am glad they did! Awesome read!
Audrey is a therapist. Ian is a serial killer. Ian wants to change to be a good person, to be normal. He finds Audrey in hopes that she will help him. Audrey takes him on as a client and finds herself in a dilemma between not being able to talk to anyone about Ian and the things he's done, losing her license to practice if she does, or telling the police what she knows, getting him caught and behind bars, and saving others from his deadly doings. Ian has a secret though and uses it to lure her into continuing to be his therapist. Can she help him? Or will more women be murdered? Is she safe from him? Secret Keeper will keep you engrossed from beginning to end.
“Secret Keeper” by Brooke Montoya is a dark, twisty thriller where secrets aren’t just hidden—they test the limits of morality. Montoya pushes her characters into impossible choices, forcing them to weigh loyalty, truth, and survival. The pacing is sharp, the twists relentless, and the ethical gray areas make the story all the more gripping.
I couldn’t put this one down. It’s dark, twisty, and full of surprises—perfect for fans of psychological thrillers that keep you reading late into the night.
Audrey is in the business of keeping people's secrets and helping to work through them. Her new client shares a secret that she's not expecting. Can she keep it? Should she?
As Ian and Audrey's lives become more overlapped, they become buried under secrets they can't seem to get away from. Will those secrets be the end to the lives they know?
This twisted tale was a great read. The different POV gave a true insight to each character and what drives their actions. My first from this author and I'm excited to check out more.
Secret Keeper is a razor-sharp, addictive thriller. Montoya’s characters are messy, the secrets are explosive, and every reveal lands with a jolt. Dark secrets, dangerous choices, and a finale that delivers a stunning blow—this is the kind of book you clear your schedule for!
This thriller kept my attention through to the end! It has consistent pacing and lots of suspense. I only removed a star because I felt like the ending was a little anticlimactic.
