'Jaws' tribute is Gatto's best to date

Deep Sea Predator, a marine horror thriller, takes place on Martha's Vineyard during celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the release of the original Jaws. The madness and mayhem, mixed with graphic gore, comes fast and unrelenting as the mystery creature starts snacking on tourists and islanders alike. Only one man, an ictheologist, is able to determine its identity. The body count rises as struggles to stop it fail again and again. The writing is a significant improvement over Gatto's earlier works, with likeable, and horrible characters, realistic dialogue for the scenario and no deus ex machina ending like some other books in the genre. Overall, Deep Sea Predator is likely the best book Severed Press has published. 4.5/5 stars! Highly recommended for fans of Jaws, fans of horror thrillers, and any adult with a strong stomach looking for something a little different. It also left me looking forward to whatever horrors Gatto conjures up next!

A quick, chompy monster tale. Tons of characters for the beast to munch its way through, not much depth to them, fine for a novella.

Wasn't great, wasn't bad. An OK read.

great

As I was reading the story, I was thinking about the movie and the book Jaws. The opening paragraph of this book reminded me of the opening scene in jaws. The story was well written, the tempo was quick and it was hard to put down.
