For her Light shines the brightest, in the very Darkest of times…

Shadow’s deadly disease now blankets the planet.

Everything points to the apocalypse, with earthquakes, rising tides, hurricanes, and New York now a military-run lockdown guarded by rich humans.

To top it off, Allie’s husband, Revik, is acting really strange––and everyone seems to know why but her.

Sociopathic seer Ditrini tells Allie Shadow is coming for her next. Only this time, he’s bringing his new pet intermediary, War, the fourth of the Four.

War is hell-bent on bringing the end of human race for good––and Allie along with it.

Unfortunately, she’s also one of Allie’s closest friends.

Words utterly escape me. I feel numb and likely will for a while yet to come. There is so much emotional turmoil in this book, even knowing it’s fiction it’s almost painful to read. This was another of those stories that I couldn’t read fast enough. I needed to get to the end to find out how it was going to turn out. All I know for certain is that their story isn’t over yet and I need to know the rest of it – I just may require a bit of a breather to recover before I’m emotionally able to dive back in again.

Allie returns to New York as everything moves towards the apocalypse. The disease from Shadow is everywhere, there are earthquakes, storms, and chaos ensues (with pockets in military lockdown protecting the wealthy). Revik is acting strange and Dirini of the Lao Hu tells Allie that Shadow is coming for her but he brings War the fourth intermediary (and final member) who is going to help him end the human race )and the Bridge with it),

WOW! There were more strands of story and twists/turns than at times I felt I could cope with BUT even saying, that I kept reading as fast as I could as I NEEDED to know what was going to happen next. There are moments between Allie and Revik and even Wreg and Jonathan that were significant and added to their relationships. Cass had a major role in the story this time which made me quite sad and sorry for her (although mad as hell at her too). The ending of the story is very dramatic and so very sad too. You might want to have so chocolate or wine for this time. I found Praying for Time by George Michael quite apt too as the words seemed to resonate. I cannot wait for the next story now as I NEED to know what happens next.

Please note this is a great book but it will make much more sense if you have read the books before it in the series and you need to be comfortable with M/M and M/F sex.

For those who have read the original WAR, from my understanding this version has had a major revision with drastic differences. Since I personally didn't read the first version, I can't accurately compare.

What I can say about this book and the rest of the series up to this book is that it is dark and twisted as you expect an apocalyptic science fiction story should be. There isn't any pretty about what goes on in this tale. As a matter of fact I actually described the series to a friend as "thriller sci-fi apocalyptic suspense novel" when she asked what I was reading. These books aren't quick reads and requires the reader to think. This particular book is about how War handles things. Along with those details, comes shocking and thriller type events. I liked getting the better picture of how she became War and her connection to shadow but I am ready to see how the story ends. I still believe the story is worth the time to read. The ending cliffhanger broke my heart. Definitely needs to be read in order and a series not to be taken lightly.

Gifted a copy. Honest voluntary review.

The Bridge & Sword series has been a great one so far and now we’ve reached its book 6, War: Apocalypse. And now a warning - War isn’t pretty. It’s brutal and full of loss and pain. That’s true of this book too. Alyson Taylor (Allie) and her partner Dehgoies Revik are back, and are extraordinary as ever. The characters Are as well crafted as ever, and the plot as gritty, thrilling, romantic (and yes, sexy) as ever. Be warned, though, that this is a totally apocalyptic tale, filled with twists and turns and backstabbing betrayals. It works perfectly for those who have been following the series all along, and is an essential link in the story chain that can’t be missed. Having said that, it is not the book for a newcomer to start off with. Go back and start at the wonderful first book. Then you’ll find yourself needing this book by the time you reach it. If you start here you’ll only be confused and dismayed.

My five star rating is for those who have been reading this series all along. For them I highly recommend this book.

Seer of War is the sixth book in the Bridge and Sword series. It begins shortly after previous book. Cass has been brainwashed by Shadow and Terian and has become War, the Fourth of the Four. Allie, Revik and their crew are in New York state, slowly making their way to their safe house in New York City. Meanwhile, the disease that was unleashed in the prior book is wreaking havoc across the world and millions are dying.

At first it feels like the story is slow to get going, but once it does, things move quickly. I liked the book, although a lot of bad things happen and at the end things look pretty bleak for Allie and Revik. I like the progression of Wreg and Jon's relationship, but I was frustrated with Revik keeping a major secret from Allie. I'm glad the next book is already out, I would've hated to have to wait to find out what happens next. This is definitely another recommended read!

Oh. Crap.

This book takes the plot arc down a turn for the seriously worse, and it was already looking pretty bad for Allie, Revik and their crew.

This though, this ratchets the tension up in a definitive step, in the distinct and palpable threat weaving through the story.  But even though this is gearing up for an increasingly imminent end of days storyline, the nuances of the relationship developments are not sacrificed to the imperative of that narrative.   And that is what really makes the story hang together in a much more intense way.

I'm now scared about where the next book is going to go.  But I can't wait to read it.

WAR IS BLOODY BRUTAL!!!

This book was another "hard to read" book of this series. I actually had to power read it from about 40 percent on. Basically, everything goes to the "crapper," in this book, excepting the relationships. *shakes fist at Andrijeski*

Cass is War and although she has been brain-washed, there is no denying she wanted it,-begged for it in fact. With her brain-washing surfaces her secret jealousy and hatred of Allie, for having and being everything she is not. This, of course, includes Revic.

Although, this may not explain the twists and turns, if you do the arithmetic you can pretty much see how bad things are going to get. There is no coming back from this for Cass.

This one is just plain sad, to have that happen and by your best friend, it just hurts to talk about it. The rewrite is great, the overlying plot is the same but the way the story flows is so much smoother. I've read all the books in the original series and now all the rewrites to date and I've got to say, I enjoyed the old series but the new one is better in so many ways. Like all the books the intensity level of this one is once more off the charts. I really want to get through these next couple because they are just so intense and gripping.

I received an ARC of this story and have chose to voluntarily review it here.

Just when you think things might even out for Allie and Revik, the author throws something at you that just kills you. The war is coming to a crescendo with Cass leading the opposite side. She has totally taken on her role as War. It is hard to believe the change her personality has taken. It’s a complete 180. I used to love her character, but she has now become the one I despise, even over Menlim or Salinse.

The ending in this book hurt my heart so bad. I felt like crying. This may be the darkest book of the series yet. I need the next book now, but unfortunately it is only on preorder. It can’t some soon enough.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book.

OMG
I think this is the best one yet in this series.
I mean , earthquakes , tsunami's and all that stuff.
The secret Revik kept from Allie (I guessed what it was and was right!)
And then that ending : OMG !!
I did not expect that ending !
It really was an amazing read.
After days searching for this book i finally found it and read it as fast as i could to know what happened with all of them.
Some things i did not see coming.
And that Ditrini guy : Psycho !! But i love a bad villain character. It gives a bit more suspense and this book was that and so much more.
5 stars !!

Is this the end?

After reading this book I feel like all is lost and there won’t be any way anyone behind Allie and Revik will be able to finally conquer the dark forces of shadow. This has been such a rollercoaster saga you just don’t know what will come next. I could definitely live without reading in depth the sexual acts between Jon and Wreg. It was easier to just make the assumption, and unfortunately I skipped through most of those parts. In the end I really enjoyed most of this book and can’t wait to get started on reading the next one.

Surprises

Such an excellent story I could not put the book down! There is so much going on in this book! Allie and Revik , Wreg and Jonathan, Revik’s son, Maygar, are just a few character’s stories you will read. Let us not forget Cass and her parts in this book. The twists to the plots/sub stories and the ending to the book is eye opening. To say too much would spoil the book , so read and enjoy as I look forward to the next book!

I received War, book 6 of the Bridge and Sword series, as a free copy from the author, and enjoyed the read so much, I purchased a copy when it became available for sale. I love this series, the books are long, but I find yself completely absorbed into the action and complexity of the worldbuilding. Layers upon layers of action in an intense, fast-paced storyline. Andrijeski is a master storyteller, and the Bridge and Sword series is a win for plot, character development, and worldbuilding.

Incredibly heartbreaking...

‘War: Bridge & Sword,’ was an incredibly heartbreaking read! The battle has been gearing up towards the Apocalypse... a conclusion Allie and Revik have been desperately trying to hold off. With the release of the deadly disease unleashed upon major cities and killing off most of it population, things seem to be spiraling out of control. Can the get ahead of these obstacles? Or will everything crash around them?

I wasn't overly impressed at first. Sometimes, the series is too sci-fi technical for me. But about halfway through, the plot went into blastoff! The author hooked me again. She has more twists and turns in her imaginative world than a backwoods road. And I appreciate how she can make these otherworldly characters come off as so real. But, boy, do they suffer! I'd like to see them have a little fun more often.

Betrayal & Grief

This one is just plain sad, to have that happen and by your best friend, it just hurts to talk about it. On the one hand you want to have empathy for Cass, she's been through so much, but on the other hand you just want to b@@ch slap her.. The rewrite is great, the overlying plot is the same but the way the story flows is so much smoother.
Like all the books the intensity level of this one is once more off the charts.

Honestly this whole series has been a thrilling roller coaster of emotions that left me eagerly waiting for the last book. Started reading and wasn’t expecting much, but I ended up falling in love with the characters. Great characters, great world building. The series relies on some tropes, but it uses them cleverly and the plot is never boring or predictable.
I have the release date of the next book on my calendar :)

Heart Stopping

The heart stopping pain that is the ending of this amazing book will forever break my heart. Talk about absolute devastation! Thankfully I have read more than I thought I had and I know that there’s more to heal my heart a little. Thankfully! I’m not sure I’m going to sleep tonight but it is always worth it with this series.
